HAPPY BIRTHDAY, KEL!

Because it was Kel's bday... and b/c themed parties are decidedly more fun.. we went to the country bar...and we dressed up! Seriously an outstanding time!

I committed to riding the bull and I did it!
Some of the girls beforehand... (and no, I dont know why I have an glare/orb thing on my chest.. outstanding..) As Gary said "I think the afterlife was trying to come through your boob!" hahaha!
We nicknamed him "chip n dale" and "ponytail" but...uh.. regardless of what we named him, he liked Kel. a lot. especially her boots. Um. weird!
Glow necklaces, pink sheriff badges, and cowboy hats-what-what!!!

Child Safety Day

Friday night, went out to meet Dennis' girlfriend, Nikki, and have some dinner/drinks with them! Good times, people. Seriously... She's pretty awesome.. Not gonna lie...:) Buuuut...margaritas dont make for an early morning....

Somehow, I got my tail up Sat morning nice and early to volunteer at Child Safety Day!! The Pics: other company volunteers, the good neigh-bear that we gave out. :) It was pretty cute to watch the kids in the "bike rodeo" and getting free helmets, learning how to stop, drop and roll, etc.. Good times :)

Get fixed...

I took the above photo in Chicago.. It's fitting. Gracie is doing better, but she tends to totally fall drunkenly into bushes when we go outside. It's sad.. but funny..

Anyway, watch Grey's? I cried.. when the girl blinked three times. I cried. I'm lame. Grey's didn't disappoint, though!! I dont want to like her sister. I dont know why. And.. breakup sex.. Good for them. Let the drama begin!

This is your dog. This is your dog on drugs.

Gracie is DOPED. UP. but she's recovering well. :) She cries a lot when she tries to jump on things and I dont get there fast enough to help her, though.. They gave me enough pain pills for 4 days. Whoa.

Picking her up yesterday:
Vet: She did so well. Just make sure she eats so she doesnt become sick.
Me: Okay (picking her up) "Gracie is such a brave dog.. Good girl..."
Vet: Um.. Yeah. She was brave. Just make sure she eats.
Me: Okay. Eats. Yes. "Good girl.. You're gonna get doggie ice cream when you feel better."

Anyway, did ya see Private Practice? Whatdya think? I like Addison, but I was so disappointed that they changed her friend. Her friend WAS a girl that had been on Alias in the pilot. Now, she's some unknown. Hmm.. Some of the dialogue was kinda..eh... like "Kicking ass and taking names is on my resume." What? Overall, I'll keep watching.. for now. I dvr-ed Dirty, Sexy, Money, but dont think I'll get into it.

Tonight-GREY'S!!!! They'd better pick up the pace. I think it'd be way funnier if Mere was a total bitch to her sister instead of the typical "oh, no, now what.. feel bad for me.. "

B/c I'm in my 20's... Volume III

So, I didn't do it last week, but for today..

I'm taking Glamour mag's "Hey, it's okay" list that I love to read and making it my own, adding some of theirs and some of mine :)

Soooo..
Hey, it's okay:

* to hide your dirty dishes when you have company instead of doing them. Whatever.
* to believe chivalry is an absolute necessity in a date/boyf, etc.
* to get one in every color
* to prefer E! news over cnn news.
* to fall asleep with your makeup on...on your sofa...at 9pm.
* if your stylist knows more about your love life than some of your friends
* to not to know exactly why you're crying
* to firmly believe that if you share it, it has no calories
* if your pet has three or more nicknames. And maybe even it's own song.
* to have a flash of self pity if no one says "God bless you" when you sneeze
* to change outfits 5 times, then put on the first one.
* to watch exercise tv while sipping a pepsi and eating hershey's kisses. (whatever)
* to get dressed up for work....without showering. Sometimes, it's just better to sleep in.
* to prefer heels over flats....and get annoyed when people question you about it.
* to zoom in on your camera to see how you look
* to prefer the more expensive toilet paper... for no apparent reason
* to put the bottle, jar, etc, back in the fridge b/c you can't open it. Sometimes it's just not worth the energy.

I could go on and on, but for the sake of getting some work done this morning, feel free to add more in comments. :)

PS.. Kind thoughts for little Gracie. She looked so sad this morning when I dropped her off...
PPS.. Please note that I added a new blog to "MY daily candy" called Charming, but Single. She's quite funny. :) Oh, and added my word of the day feed to the left as well! :) Love love!

No tail wagging for Gracie....

My poor little girl, Gracie, gets her womanhood removed tomorrow. I'm seriously gonna be a crazy parent someday. I've already called the vet today to verify pain meds, blood testing, procedures, recovery, etc. Yeah. I'm going to Jacox per multiple recommendations.. Well, and my original vet was over 200 bucks. Yeah. Not doin' that. I researched the procedure and benefits, so I know it's worth it.. but.. gah.. poor thing. Plus, I'm not into putting doggie diapers on her if she's in heat. Um. No.
- The Hills was boring last night. Watched it while I uploaded photos.
- Kinda watched the Bachelor while uploading photos. He's hot. The pretzel girl was nuts. The cheerleader is cute, but might get on my nerves very very soon.
- Do you watch Heroes? I've never, but might like it.

O-Who?!!!, Chi town, Lauren's bday

A girl can dream, right?

Everyone sing!!!
Down the field to victory, On Tulsa on, Fight on University, Battle on and on. March to the goal line, oh Tulsa, Score on mounting score, March to the goal line, oh Tulsa, Let that Hurricane roar! Drive those (Opponent's name) back and back, Onward, Tulsa, on, Gold, Blue and Red, We'll go ahead, Down the field to vic-to-ry!

In other news, I leave for the Chi after work! Hooray! Gracie is staying with grandma (yes, my mom even calls herself Gracie's grandmother). Lemme tell you. Gracie. is. pissed. Mom's dog has kinda run the roost for a LONG time and doesn't..um.. play nicely with others. He's really sweet, but he lets little G know who's boss...and I wouldn't exactly leave them alone. (She's inside; he's outside this weekend)

I imagine a conversation goes something like this:
Beau (mom's dog-11yrs old): What. Are you?"
G: "I'm Gracie.. and I'm cute.. Look!" (as she runs around happily)
B: "I dont think so. I run this place."
G: "I want to play!!!"
B: "Eff off. I've lived on the street, bitch" *growls*

So, in other news. I hate the heel tip on my shoes. Why? Well, I manage to destroy it in EVERY. PAIR. I've had these shoes like.. 2 weeks.. and worn them maybe 6 times. *Sigh* Since I leave for the airport after work, I'm gonna be that girl. C'mon..you know the one.. the tapdancing girl as my stupid shoe goes "taptaptap.." Whatever. No time for fixing now. Poo.

Ah. One more thing. Last night. Girls. Caravan. Funny. My favorite line "I bet they'll line dance to this" And.. they did. (referring to ANY rap song)

Last, but CERTAINLY not least.. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO LAUREN!! I dont have a photo at work to post, but I will post some from tonight when I get back in town I'm sure.

VAMOOSA

So, in high school, a good friend of mine, Shawna, and I started talking in the cafeteria. She told me about how she'd had a blowout on the way to a football game in Ada, blah blah.. and ended up by a creeptastic cemetery. It went something like this:

Shawna: "So, there's this town.. that IS a cemetery."
Me: (half interested) "What?"
S: "Yeah, and it's eff-ing creepy. Little houses sit above the graves...and inside the houses are clothes and flowers and shit."
Me: "Um.. okay. Whatever.." (totally not believing her)
S: "SERIOUSLY. I think I can find it again. Wanna go after school since you dont believe me?"
Me: Thinking.. its a two hour drive.. "Sure."

We went. I was in my pom uniform. It was dreary outside. She was sooo right. Creepy Vamoosa is a little cemetery...complete with PICTURES on the graves, little houses that cover the graves, all having little windows shaped like diamonds. We creeped out and left in about 15 minutes.. and this was before I was picture crazy, so no evidence. But, you can picture two high schoolers, one in a bright red pom outfit, checking out a cemetery. Made for a horror movie plot, I think...

Ive told this story and people dont believe me. Welp, I told a co-worker headed to Ada yesterday and he stopped and took a photo!!!!

He also confirmed that it might be one of the creepiest places EVER. There are indeed clothes and flowers in those houses (as you can see from the diamond windows looking in)...and there are pictures on some of the freshly dug graves. Hello, creeptastic. Thank you very much.

Anyone up for a road trip?

My package....

I had a package delivered today. I was sleeping on the sofa with Gracie when it was delivered. I ran downstairs and apologized for my hapazard look saying I was taking a nap. Mr. Fedex went to get the package saying he "just wanted to make sure I was home first." (whatever). Then, here's what happened.

I brushed doggie hair off my lap.
Me: "Sorry, my puppy was sleeping on me."
Mr. Fedex: hands me package...utters "Lucky puppy."
Me: Perplexed, slightly offended, more grossed out, still half asleep. "Uh....*uncomfortable laugh*" Followed by a scowl.

What?!!

Reason Gracie has to be in her crate all day now...

I never posted this a couple weeks ago.. but this is an example of my dog's hoarding behavior. Notice nothing is chewed up (except paper) ...*Sigh* So much for the puppy gate now that she can jump it. This is her sad face and pitiful stance while I was giving her "the look" and wouldn't pick her up. What a baby. I am raising a spoiled animal.

This is the reason I didn't bring boyfriends over...

...to my mom's house.. I was a fat child.. and my dad was a photographer. That in itself makes for poster sized reminders of why people called me "a chunk" and why I was against having bangs until last year. Really.
Anyway, helped mom unpack at her new house today! Way cute! I heart it! :) Plus, she's letting me help decorate, so I heart it more!

Oh..and Blazer made this for me in college...I think it was our freshman year.. when lapboards were awesome and magazine clippings ruled my desk drawers! :) Anyway, I had completely forgotten about it b/c it was in my old room! Lookie how cute! Please note the picture of me in my pom uniform-with no tan.. and my natural hair color. Oh geez...It was a good weekend all in all! Hung out on Friday, had my hair did on Sat (yeah, Im still blonde.. ) and went to the TU game on Sat night! Rephrase.. went to the TU tailgate with Blaze. We didnt quite make it to the game, but had a blast anyway! AND WE WON! Go TU!!!! :)

Quick Friday grossness...

Please dont eat while reading.

Speaking of eating.. This was my week's luck with food:

1. Lunch at the work cafe- gnats in my salad. F-ing gross.
2. Lunch at Quiznos- burned my bread. "Mmmm..Toasty." Not so much.
3. Lunch at Arby's today- WORST YET- they didnt properly slice the roast beef..and I had CHUNKS of it in my sandwich. Yeah. Sick. Anf when did they discontinue homestyle fries?

Next week: Packing my lunch. Eff this.

To not end on a totally sick note, when taking a quick break, I visit:
1. Orbitz (to see if the places I want to go are on sale)
2. www.urbanoutfitters.com B/c they're AMAZING and I wish we had one.

Happy weekend, lovelies! Tomorrow is the hair appt. Blonde? Brown? Bronde? Sheez.. I dunno.

"I'll never tell....anyofyou."

Remember that movie? Yeah. Anyway...

I'm referring to my AWESOME Halloween costume that a few of us came up with last night. We're gonna be fabulous.. you have no idea. I think we're going to try to hit up the Brady Party again. Outstanding party!

Anyway, TMZ called Brit Brit a poptastrophe. This makes my Friday morning.. haha! Part of me says "leave the girl alone" while the other part says "keep it coming."

Alright, well, plenty busy today, but I hope everyone has a fab weekend!

http://www.davidsbridal.com/bridesmaids_bycolor_detail.jsp?stid=2332&sid=7981&cfid=34

They're really cute on.. The model is just kinda flat...and I dont feel badly saying that b/c she's a friggin model...

And here's her page on The Knot :) http://weddings.theknot.com/pwp/view/co_main.aspx?coupleid=9924104338952573

There's a skunk in my office...

...or at least it smells like there is. A skunk sprayed somewhere outside, but it has penetrated our ventilation system. Awesome.

I booked a massage for tonight at the Community College and am pretty damn excited. My back has been giving me hell again. I think I must hold my shoulders funny or something when I sit at work. I dunno. At any rate, love me some community college b/c they're just as good and half the price! Hooray!

It smells too much to think about blogging.

B/c I'm in my 20s.... Volume 2

So, I almost forgot I decided to do this on Wednesdays. (If you dont understand, please scroll down to Vol 1 from Friday).

Today's edition: My personal 20something milestones: (in random order)

1. Realizing I'm too old to go on the Real World. Boo. :(
2. Deciding to get rid of some of my sorority t-shirts (think "2000 pledge dance")...then deciding against it and putting them back in the drawer.
3. Understanding a 401k...and why I need it.
4. Realizing I might be among the "older" group in the bar. Needless to say, I changed bars.
5. Actually thinking wine is better than beer...and even knowing a little about wine rather than holding it to look older. (Yeah, I did that)
6. Seeing a few wrinkles.. like REAL ones by my eyes. I blame smiling a lot. I'm a happy person and look where it's gotten me. (Please note that I immediately went to Origins and got a good skin care regimen. No shit.)
7. Getting-and actually caring for-an animal...and liking it.
8. Actually caring, researching, and forming an informed opinion on politics, global issues, and other matters that some of you cared about in college. (I was too busy bleaching my hair and tanning-haha.. kidding)
9. Meeting, liking, and briefly dating a guy in his 30s...and finding it totally normal-b/c it is.
10. Realizing it's okay to hate the job I thought I'd love...and making changes accordingly.
11. Getting a better handle on what I want, what I dont, what I'll compromise on, etc.
12. Sitting home on a Friday or Sat night with some takeout and dvr-ed shows...and being comfortable thinking that's the perfect thing I could be doing at that moment... :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO BROOKE!

Although she is busy repelling mosquitos and squatting in the woods (she's camping), today's her bday!!! SO, HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BROOKE!!!! Get back already so we can celebrate!! I wish I could access photos at work b/c I'd post a fabulous one!

Someone once said something about people who use multiple exclamation points being insane.. Well.. I think that's likely true. *sigh* haha! :)

Also, awesomely exciting and funtastic news.. I'm Blaze's Maid of Honor! WHAT WHAT!!! She asked me yesterday officially and I'm totally excited.. I want to do an awesome job, so recommendations welcome. :)) I have to admit.. our bridesmaids dresses are pretty fab. They're blue and t-length. :)

Okay, off to quiznos..b/c I found gnats in my cottage cheese yesterday from the work cafeteria. I realize it was likely my bad b/c (1) I went to lunch super late so the food had been out for awhile and (2) Gnats get everywhere. They're not like narsty bugs which dont need mention. But, hey, gross enough to make me go to Quiznos instead.

Okay, well, my jet setting boyf is in Montreal for the High Holidays. Seriously, someone take away his passport. :)

B/c I'm in my 20s...Volume 1

I have been thinking a LOT about what I really really want...not the "happiness, success," stuff, but more the actual STUFF stuff. I mean..we all have things that we want do get, buy, do, in our lifetime... So.. since this is a 20something's blog, maybe I shall devote a blog a week to stuff that is related to my being in such an idealistic-indecisive-figuringlifeout place. :).

Today's topic: Things I want in my life and feel as though I would be disappointed if I never acheieved. (Mind you, I said earlier that all the meaningful stuff is NOT being mentioned here. Of course I want kids, etc...)

IN ORDER:
1. To live on a beach...or have a beach house...I often feel as though my devotion to the midwestern-small-town-values, etc, is only trumped by the sounds of crashing waves...and well, great whites, seashells and sand of course!
2. Travel....for at least a few months in bulk...at some point in my life. I'd like to say a year, but keepin it real here.
3. Live internationally for awhile.

I have other topics in mind, but feel free to suggest and contribute with comments. Maybe this will end up being a good hump day topic. :)
