Stop the madness! ha!
1. I did it. I got online, went to a site, entered my information, and SIGNED UP FOR A CREDIT CARD! I'm a credit virgin in case you didnt know. Dont envy me; it's been SO problematic. I have my reasons why I havent had a card, but I held my head a little higher. I am now officially a slave to plastic. I am an AMERICAN! YES! ha! ;) (Seriously, I'm proud of myself here)
2. Lost almost made me pee myself out of excitement tonight. Desmond-WHAT?! George-WHAT?! The smart dude in the past/future? WHAT?! Yeah. Totally. You understand.
3. I did not work out last night. I actually slept on my sofa instead. However, tonight, I learned how to use the weight bar thing. Yeah, with real weights on it. I did squats. I dont know if I really did anything, but I held my head high as I walked outta that gym tonight. I'm practically a gladiator! ha!
4. Gracie turns ONE this weekend-Sat to be exact! There will be photos. You will not make fun of them...at least out loud to me. Thank you.
5. Aaron is DONE with the BAR EXAM! And the dude who he wrote about (below) didnt even SHOW UP today. Whatever. CONGRATS TO AARON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
6. I want to see The Other Boelyn Girl. Do you? Let's go. Now. Thank you.
7. After being tired after workouts, etc, I got a suggestion to eat more protein. My life has been forever changed. That is all I have to say. I claim this as the solution to life's problems. EAT MORE PROTEIN! At least it will confuse people if nothing else.....
8. Kelli's coming in town this weekend. We'll take photos. I'm charging the battery as we speak. Prepare yourself.

Conversation with my eye doctor's office
Her: "Okay.. let me pull your file.. Did you order any last year?"
Me: "No. My appt was in July and since my Rx didnt change, I just used the ones I had left over from last time.."
Her: "Okay, so you didn't order any?"
Me: "No."
Her: "Okay, so that will be 120 dollars since you used your contacts allowance under insurance last year."
Me: "Okay, but I didn't order any."
Her: "Oh, right *laughs* Okay, let me run that through.."
Wow.
Also, my new personal favorite is the replacement for coffee/soda girl in the cafeteria. Picture Mr. T, but shorter and with just as much jewelry. He sings when he rings things up...seriously.

Oh the crap that makes me laugh... I still think Sarah's was WAY funnier if you ever watch Kimmel. He disses Matt Damon on EVERY show. LOL!

Also, MAC. I use their makeup. I feel like it's too heavy... Not so much the foundation powder, but the eye, etc. Here's why.. it's not that it looks heavy when I'm going out. But, when I try to make it lighter for the daytime, it just looks like I slept in it from the night before. It's just not "fresh" looking. So, I'm taking suggestions...at least for eyes. Also, a good undereye concealer por favor. A friend suggested Aveda for eyes! This excites me! I think I shall try. :))
I believe your body tells you what it wants.. like chocolate for example. ha! But, seriously...my body said "I want milk" yesterday. I HATE milk even more than cardio. But, downed a glass like it was nothing. What?! Anyway...listening to my body at the grocery store. My Sunday pastime. (I also bought oreos. Whatever). Trying to eat better, though. I'll let you know how long it lasts.
Also..pretty sure I heard gunshots outside my apt last night. Why? Well, it was kinda "BAM....BAM BAM BAM".. (long pause..like long enough to make me think it wasnt gunfire) Then, police sirens. Jennifer and I are thinking of renting a house together. Neighborhood recommendations are welcome.
Finally...and most importantly...Aaron is taking the California bar exam tomorrow, Wed, and Thurs. Please think good thoughts.... Just for him.. His favorite quote:

It toooootally hit me the other day with my mom looking at Blaze's registry that shes. getting. married. My BFF is getting hitched. Like walking down the aisle. In a white dress. Holy. Shit. Like "Im looking at my best friend's wedding registry. WHOA." Then the freak out turned to total excitement. I began thinking gifts, speeches, etc...Blaze is getting MARRIED!!!!
Sat night, Jennifer and I went to Wild Horse! ha! We belted (and I mean BELTED) out college songs (Pu**y control, anyone?) and did the cha-cha slide. Yup. And you'll never guess who was in town and two-stepped with me!!!!!
......JACOB! He dragged some other Lamda Chis out there with him-Andy, Clint, Jason, Robby...
We had a blast! It's always a nice change of pace to head out there... Oh, forgot to mention the drag show Jennifer and I went to on Friday night! LOL! I love men in little dresses that have better legs than me.... ha! :)

Lost: OH. MY. GOD. Dont you remember the psychic telling Claire that her baby must not be raised by another?! OH. WOW. And..that Jack and Claire might be half bro and sis? Yeah. I think Jack feels responsible for her death (assuming she dies) or for leaving her behind..and cant see the kid. Also makes sense why Kate's raising it.. kinda like a piece of Jack. Angela's rec for the Instyle magazine hair thing is awesome! I played with it for like an hr! lol! I shall upload photos of my favorite hair sometime this weekend. It's fun, though. Go do it. Now. * My office wall looks like a creepy shrine to Aaron. I have like two pics of my friends and like 6 of Aaron and me. They're the only pics I really print. Anyway, my wall is magnetic so I just plop them up there with magnets and it's looking weird.
* I am TIRED of my hair. I think I want to keep it longer like this, but I neeeeeed a new style. Maybe take an inch and a half off? Add layers? Any sites with hair are appreciated.Just sayin. I'm taking advice.

I. am. wiped. out.
Traveling Jax is like a way better version of Man vs. Wild. At least I think so. But, the coming down from traveling doesn't suit me so well. Couple that with a rather long week and the fact that I seem to have an aversion to heading to bed before 12:30.
Plus, I zumba-ed yesterday. I zumba-ed my little sleepy ass into complete soreness today since I hadn't been since the first of Feb. Lets not even talk about the yoga ball I did for abs. YEOUCH. Oh, and a girl at the gym called me a bitch. I laughed. She signed up for the tanning bed then went to get on the treadmill. Well, I didnt feel like waiting for her to get OFF the treadmill. I mean.. who the hell signs up so as to block off time when they FEEL like tanning? Annoying. So, I went tanning. ha! When I came out, she was like "bitch." I laughed at her and asked her how the treadmill was. I need sleep, huh?! ha! Whatever, she was like 16.
Dude-what was WITH the windstorm last night? I blame the wind for some SERIOUSLY effed up dreams about dogs attacking me on a camping trip. Okay, I might need sleep, but I should also not eat before bed or something. (Just FYI, but I successfully defeated the dogs).
Here's my 20something part: Dude. I have crows feet. Not bad.. but bad enough. I think I smile too much. From now on, no smiling. Hmph! Posh Spice here I come...

I like it.
So many things rocked about my weekend and a bit-by-bit rundown would take forever and bore you to tears. So, here ya go....
* If there's one thing I've learned from my boyfriend, it's how much one can learn and take in from letting go of a plan and just kinda taking it all in. So, that's what I did. Wandering, photo-ing, walking, sitting, watching... Great place to do it.
* Museum of Natural History made me wide-eyed as a friggin kid! T-rex, hope diamond, massive elephants, etc. Plus I found myself nearly drunkenly giggling at the skeletons. Dont know why.
* The big scary archive-guard said "NO. FLASH. PHOTOS." soooo my Dec of Indep photos look a bit yellow, but seeing the original signatures took my breath away. Surreal.
* Who knew Don W. Reynolds was in DC? ;) Apparently, my pocked thought dropping my cell phone there was a great idea. Right. All the way to the metro..at 2am...and I gasp and start DARTING back while Carrie shouted "Jax, WAIT!!! WAAIIIT!" ha! Fitting that it was on the steps of that building. (Thank GAWD)
* The first hotel, the Mayflower, was kiiinda stuffy. It wasn't NEARLY as fun as I imagined...or as fun as the Hotel Helix!! From "bed surfing" to pop rocks to leopard robes, that hotel was damn. cool. The huge black and white celeb photos in the lobby were like screaming my name for cheesy pictures. Yeah. Seriously. I heard them.
* Hotel Helix had lime green hallways...and someone beside our room had room service (including a blue moon). Please see above. ha! It's not like we raced back and forth down the hallway either. No. That would have been way immature. ;)
* As Carrie said once to describe the city... "It's like...and....there's-a-monument!" ha! Seriously.. statues everywhere make you feel patriotic...while people bicker in foreign languages on the streets. It was cool to visit, but living there? Not for me.
* From walking in random cemeteries til sushiko (?) opened to the "um, excuse me...can you take our picture...?" we had a blast!! I'm tired as hell (still) but it was way worth it...even the mishaps in the metro.. ha!
* One of my fav memories was grabbing a Hebrew Natl and a pepsi while I sat in the park in front of the Smithsonian watched a softball game with the melodic sound of a carousel in the background. Awesome. To my left, the capitol. To my right, the Washington Monument. What a "deep breath this is awesome" moment. *sigh* :)
On my knees in the morning...
Work is crazy busy since I've been gone, so keeping this short.. This week is kinda poo. My dad passed away on Presidents Day, which happened to be the 21st of that year. So, I have two days this week that kinda make me ick. However, the 21st is worse than Pres Day in the book of ick. I shall likely be purchasing wine to enjoy during Thursday's Lost. Just sayin...
In other news, I think my hair is too long. It shall be trimmed up a bit next time. This is why I take tons of photos-to determine whether my hair looks good. ha. Kidding. That is all from the wonderful world of Jax. Photos tonight. Promise. :)

"Sh*t! We're going the wrong way again!"
Anyway...here's a quick recap of my first couple days before Carrie got there...
Wed night: Michele (co worker) and I walked around with one of her friends...It was cold. The white house was pretty. It was cold. More to follow. Did I mention it was cold?
Michele got seriously sick the next day, so I spent Valentines after the conference walking around...about 4 miles...to see all the main monuments. :) I just kinda started wandering and ended up having a blast! :) And...since I was alone, you dont have to deal with cheesy poses...just monuments.
Washington Monument...walked up behind and around it...then headed to WWII...
The WWII Memorial was absolutely amazing. Seriously. Gonna be lame here, but I got tears in my eyes...and I'm not even overly patriotic. I wanted to salute something and puff my chest up proudly. Really. Here's just one of many quotes lining the walls...

...and got there just in time to get some great pics before the sun went down. :)
I spent the rest of the night in my room watching Lost. Not a bad Valentines.. Roses, chocolate (and sex) woulda been better, but ya know.. monuments work, too... haha! :)
Anyhoo, Friday I finished up the conference and then successfully navigated the metro to make my way to the Smithsonian! I went to the Natural History Museum, the Archives (where I saw the Decl of Independence...the ORIGINAL) and basically rocked my own little lawyer socks off.
Then, headed back to the hotel in time to meet Carrie!! We had a BLAST the rest of the weekend and took a LOT of photos (obviously). Look for some photos being added to facebook soon. If you want the snapfish link, lemme know! :)
I'll post more tomorrow! Oh, and the headline....we had some issues with the metro...around 2am...It was very dateline special. Oh..and that was after I lost my cell phone on the steps of a building and walked back to get it. Right. ha!
I cant wait to post the pics from post Carrie's arrival!! Leopard print robes, supreme court, hallway dance parties....just for a couple teasers.. LOL!
So glad to be home though...and so very sleepy.... Night night... :)

The Clinton Library looks like a double wide...
So, Caitlin and I drove to LR on Sat morning, met up for lunch with everyone down in the River Market, then hiked to the Clinton library....that actually looks kinda like a glam double wide. Seriously.
We....
walked around the river market...and got flipped off when we called the shorties "short." Whatever.
Then, got quite a bit of wine for some day drinking at Aud's farmhouse...and took a Kat's belly picture...(or a few) We toasted the baby here... (and no, Kat didnt drink obviously)
Went to BBQ thanks to a baby Hill craving.. ;) Jenny even won a trophy. Kinda.
Finally, hung out at the Hills for some chatting, urban dictionary reading, and wii playing. Not sure, but Roxy miiiight be as tall as me or might be trying to make out. I dunno.

Sunday, we all cooked breakfast together then everyone went back home. I stayed for my work conference and went house hunting with Aud and Mike.. It was actually quite fun. Mike was comedy relief...trying out every bathtub, shower, etc....
Finally, I could see why Aud and Mike didnt mind staying in the country this long when this is their front yard....
So, here's the long and short....
Great girlie weekend filled with belly pictures (of Kat, not the rest of us...), girl time, wine, chatting. Not long enough. :)
Developed a slight like for the country...kinda... Fine whatever. It was pretty.
Work conferences- Good. Long days though... meeting in LR then a three hour drive to another city then a 2 hour drive back to Tulsa this afternoon. Been running errands, etc and have to pack for DC tomorrow...aka after my 8am meeting. Gah! It all hits at once, huh...
I'll try to blog...but afterall, I'll be in DC! My face is looking a bit better today...ya know...after I spent a weekend with my friends and met all the major vps of my company. Yeah, NOW it looks better. Ugh. Whatever. My co-worker and I just told everyone I fell off a friend's motorcycle. (her idea, not mine...but the questions I got were AWESOME...lol!)
Mmkay.. gettin motivated to pack. *sigh* If only someone could just pack for me....
DC here I come...Excited to see Carrie and hang with some kick ass monuments n shit. ;)

It's a brand new day... *insert kayaking and laughing*
After 3 hours of appt and lab work, I never had the staph crap according to him. I had a COLD. SORE. Yes, you can get them on your chin and yes they're a form of herpes. As in.. I picked up valtrex at the Walgreens today. Good Lord. I sat there next to some guy that likely had his wisdom teeth out and was drooling all over himself...waiting on my herpes medication. Awesome.
I mean... I'm not doggin the drug or even having a damn cold sore (even though I've never had one but I realize 80% of America has) BUT, if this guy is a quack and this STILL doesn't go away, I think I might just...well...do something bad. I'm too tired to come up with anything else. ha. If I've got cold sores now, great.. let's embrace it and heal this shit. If he's wrong, I'm about to have my chin amputated. Pity me...but also laugh b/c this is so ridic that it's funny... As Dennis said today "How does this stuff happen to you?!" hahahahahaha! I get my labs tomorrow and will let you know. You likely dont care, but this whole blog is TMI about me, so whatever. Deal.
On another note, Lost was good tonight. I think his "man on the boat" is Michael. Thoughts? Also..who is that team of peeps assembled to go to the island? Hmmmmm.....

Conversations with my doctor's office
Me: Hi, I was in the office early November when Dr. T diagnosed me with a form of bacterial infection on my face. I called to say the topical prescription wasn't working well after about a week and he told me it was all he could do. Here I am...months later...and the thing seems to have reared it's ugly head again which makes me think it may not have been fully gone in the first place.
Nurse: Okay, I'll put a note in front of him and call you back.
Convo 2: Approximately 2:30pm:
Me: Hi. I called about an hr and a half ago and havent heard back. Someone was putting a note in front of the doctor about something for me.
Nurse: I gave him the note. I bet he'll want to see you, but I havent heard back yet.
Me: Alright. Look. This isn't your fault or his. However, I am frustrated that this has seemingly not totally gone away after my complaining that the medicine he gave me wasn't fully working months ago. If he wants to see me, I hope he plans to change his course of treatment or else I might scream in someone's face. I cannot have this while I'm out of town with work for the next week and a half. I'm sure you understand why I'm frustrated.
Nurse: Okay, ma'am. I'll call you back.
Convo 3: approximately 4pm yesterday
Me: Hi. I'm waiting on a call back and havent received it.
Nurse: Well, Dr. T's office has closed for the day. We're the night answering service.
*jaw dropping on my end* Me: Um.. Okay.. Thank you.
Convo 4: This morning at 9am
Me: Hi. I called yesterday (repeated symptoms) and never got a call back.
Nurse: *looks up my info* Okay, he said he'll want to see you.
Me: Well, that's great. However, I already booked an appointment with another physician that seems more competent to heal this infection and at the very least returns his patient's calls. I am very disappointed in both the service and treatment I've received through this- and other-recent dialogues and appts. I'll be writing a letter and possibly filing a complaint. Thanks and have a good day.
Nurse: *stammering* Um.. okay.
Bitch.
Dude. How effing hard is it?! I really do plan on writing a letter. If there's only one thing I miss from the law office, it's slightly jaded letters. ha. I doubt I'll cc the medical board, b/c having worked in medical defense litigation, I know letters like that aren't exactly good for the doc's file and I haven't reached evil levels of angry yet. I'm just so very angry that he not only couldn't heal my face, but also didnt listen to me. Then, when I had the back pain (new years), his office again didnt call me back. Ridiculous.
So, wish me luck at my mom's doctor today. *sigh* I'm beginning to lose faith here. I am trying to channel my chi and shit. I'm a nice person for the most part, but once I cross into angry, I become eloquently evil with my words. I dont plan on leaving this doc's office until I'm satisfied with his course of treatment. This could get ugly.. lol!

It's not a damn coffee...
I know you're fairly new, but really you've been here long enough to learn how to work the cash register. Yet, amazingly, you seem to lock it up every single day and then stare at it like it did something to you. It's not funny. I'm hungry during this wait of the rebel cash register.
Also, I get a pepsi and a muffin every morning. My pepsi has a lid and a straw. Yet, every single day, you ask me "Coffee?" and I say "No. Soda." OKAY.. WHO PUTS A LID AND A STRAW IN THEIR COFFEE?!!! Plus, that'd be a damn big coffee. You've been here what...two months...and every single day it's "coffee?" NO, it's not a damn coffee. It's not even in the same kind of cup!!!!!!Whew.. Okay. Sorry. Got a little upset there.
Finally, you seem to make up prices for all the food. My muffin and soda cost me something different EVERY. DAY. But, if I ask you about it, you somehow lock up the system and then do that staring at the machine thing while the rest of the line hates me. I dont think you're secretly stockpiling my pennies every day, but my God, get it together.
My personal favorite was today...when you held up a banana and asked another worker "is this considered whole fruit?" Wow. Just wow.

I have AWESOME news. (sarcasm noted). My skin is dry. Yours too? Yeah, well.. I bet that scar on your chin wasn't all red and itchy this morning... Ya know..that scar from the STAPH. WHAT THE FEBRUARY!?! (see, it's already working). I am SO hoping this thing isn't coming back from getting irritated or something. ARG.
The reception I went to last night was awesome! Important people and all that jazz...I took pics, but my camera is DEAD. It was at the Skirvin...aka a GORGEOUS hotel. I love places that are renovated like that though...
Excited for girls weekend this weekend in the rock! I was surprised and happy to hear a friend is coming that I havent seen in forever...and even more surprised when I heard she was riding with me. ha! I'm assuming she'll call...or I'll call her today. No worries. Just funny...I want to touch Kat's belly (that sounds sick), drink with friends, take funny photos, play card/board/whatever games, and basically just hang... It will be welcomed chill time for a VERY busy week for me with work travels and meetings.
I don't know if I mentioned it, but I had a great weekend last weekend. I hope you all did, too... :)

Manic...and February...Monday..
Okay, so I'm busy with work b/c I've got an out of town thing tomorrow and am leaving for the whole week next week. But, quickly...
* I'm glad the giants won. I dont have any solid reasons. I'm just glad. So there.
* I darkened the hair a little. You might not be able to tell. I can. I like it. Done.
* I went glow bowling with Jennifer last night.. yes on Sunday.. and it was FAB! I lost.. but that's no shocker. We didnt have socks so we bought knee highs. LOL!
* It's 75. By tonight it will be 30. What. the. Eff.
* tomorrow is SUPER TUESDAY! (hence why I'll be in the capital)
* Carrie found the CUTTTTTEST hotel in DC for us to stay in for one night (since we have my work hotel for the other one). Wanna see it? Go here! :))))) I am SOOO excited about DC!
* I get to see everyone this weekend in LR! It's been forever since we've had girl time! Hooray for a work conference making things happen.
