So, yesterday, I got in the car to head to work, Gracie in tow, reached up, and felt I'd lost my earring. *sigh* I had on a scarf and those are notorious for brushing my dangly earrings off. Arg. I was running extremely late if I wanted to make the groomer, so just mentally weighed earring vs the temporary end to dog hair dustballs and decided it wasn't worth it (even though I really love the earrings).
I got home with my newly coiffed pup and opted to scour the ground for my earring. A nice (likely homeless) man was walking by and asked if I could spare some change so he could get something to eat. I smiled *somewhat distracted,* reached into my purse and pulled out a few bucks, saying "Sure." He replied "God bless you, ma'am" and then "Are you looking for something? I can help." Absent mindedly, I replied "No...er..well.. I lost my earring, but dont worry about it..." For the next 3 minutes, my new 'friend' silently helped me look for my missing earring to no avail. The whole thing was just pretty comical...and sweet.. but comical...and a little awkward.
Anyway, in other news I have been thinking of must-pack items for vacation b/c let's face it...we're dealing with me aka injury prone central.
* bandaids
* neosporin
* tylenol
* amoxcillin (I've been injured, but never sick on vaca...I'd like to keep it that way.)
* hydrocodone (I broke my back this year, people. Anything's possible.)
* epipen in case I get bee stung (there's nothing as romantic as letting your boyfriend drive a huge injector into your thigh...Wait, wait.. yes there is...swelling up as big as a balloon and ceasing breathing. Epipen is coming fo sho.)
I'm a disaster. But, I'm a well-prepared disaster.
Speaking of injuries, I went to the back doctor last week.. and was told I dont have to return!! YAY! It's not that I've "healed" but I've healed to a point where the bone(s) are no longer compressing any further and I'm as healed as I'll ever be-which is great! In Oct, I was told I might not stand up straight fully again.. not to the point people notice....but I'll notice. Well, happy to say, that's not the case! I got the whole "other vertebrae making up for your spine's issues, so expect arthritis in 30 years" talk per usual and some explanation as to why my spine will forever have a TEENY curve-type thing, but I stopped listening after he said "You're doing great; you dont have to come back!"
My last hospital gown picture (in this office...for awhile...hopefully...Let's face it. No jinxing myself here). :)
I had to wait awhile. I got bored. I took pics of things. And I think I have the sense of humor of a 12 year old boy b/c do you see this and think it's dirty? Well, I did. hahaha...
Happy Tuesday! :)
