Random Ramblings :)

So, I went to the derm on Friday....and....ladies and gents, I am skin cancer fuuuh-reeeeeee! My "mole" wasn't a mole at all, but rather something else that was brought on by the sun, but was NOT dangerous! :) So, he removed it (thank you, freaky dry ice can)! :) If you need a good derm, I am HIGHLY recommending him. Mary gave me his name...and her dad is a big shot in the cancer surgery dept here...and my new derm is his friend/Mary's former derm. So, he knows his shiznit. Just sayin. He's so nice...and real. He called anyone under the age of 35 a "heartthrob" like "Those heartthrobs these days...now they know what they're doing to their bodies with the sun unlike some of us old folks who were out there and didn't know better..." haha.. He continued with "Our bodies are products of generations of sun exposure.. a little sun here or a day at the pool or lake or whatever isn't going to hurt..and you're gonna do it anyway. So just wear sunblock and don't get burned. You look nice with your little tan; so don't worry. But, stay away from the tanning beds."

He went on to tell me my skin is healthy and I'll likely age well (THANK YOU, DOC, even if you're blowing smoke up my a**! haha!) b/c he says I have good elasticity. :) But, he also said women need to be extra careful of: our middle backs, back of hands, chests, and face. Definitely said people aren't careful enough of the backs of their hands. I thought that was interesting.

My fav comment from him was re: facelifts. He said "It's like your fav pair of underwear...the elastic starts to go and you can take out an inch from the waistband and sew em up, but the elastic....now that's never comin' back..." *as he said this, he pulled his cheeks back to mimic in humor* hahahaha!

I mean...is being completely sun-free best? Maybe so. But, I was just glad he understands most people aren't going to completely avoid it. But, I AM staying away from the beds. And honestly, I don't think being AS tan is really as attractive as it once was. A little color is cool, but more and more I think pale is quite pretty... (except for on me. just sayin. hahaha).

Last night, some of us went out for my friend, Kristy's birthday at Los Cabos. It was SO HOT. Wait til you see the (sweaty) photos. I was so tired... I got back to Eric's and in the process of getting ready for bed, broke his toothbrush holder by knocking it in the sink, dropped the razor off his shelf trying to put my contact case up there and then got makeup all over on his towel b/ apparently tired Jackie doesn't know how to wash her face very well. I was in some sleeptastic corona-induced haze. I hadn't had too much to drink at all; but it acted like a sleeping pill! haha!

Just saw this preview during a show (may or may not be rewatching the SYTYCD finale), and I wanna see this! How cute is it?! And I really like Alexis Bl*del.

And then Ashley posted about this awhile ago, but totally wanna see THIS ONE too!!! :) Just the preview made me cry! Here's the true story behind the movie.

Hope you're having a fabutastic weekend! Wear that sunblock, peeps! XOXO!

Sometimes I look at pictures from college when I was hitting the tanning bed every other day, and I don't really understand why nobody told me how BAD I looked!!! Oh well... live and learn. Glad you don't have cancer. ;-)

Yipee!! So glad you you've found a dermatologist who you like and keeps it real. I get so irritated when people are like "avoid the sun, the sun is the devil!!!" when, as with most things, moderation is KEY!!

So yes, keep your beautiful face beautiful and can I get a "yay" for excellent elasticity?

Oh! BTW, Neutrogena has a hand cream with SPF that I really love.
