Thankful Thursday...

So, I'm actually kiiiinda careful about jumping on board with lotsa daily blog titles b/c then I feel like I'll find myself participating in so many that I don't actually ever get to just randomly blog..haha! But, being thankful was a good header for this post so I went with it! :)

In random order, here are some things that make me happy this week...

1. I have my water back! They repaired the water main on Tuesday-woohoo! I have very little water pressure in the kitchen (think extremely annoying) but honestly, I'm not telling my LL's today b/c they've been over every.single.day. and I wanted to run some errands rather than make sure they didn't let my dog out or something else admittedly ridiculous I worry about.

2. Following that up, Eric gets kudos for letting me be his loving houseguest during my time of turmoil. (I'm so overdramatic). Anyway, made things so much easier to have him be so chill as I unloaded my straightener, etc (and my stress) at his casa. :)

3. Happy that my SAD (seasonal affective disorder) seems to be resolving itself. This roughly means that I have diagnosed myself with something some people doubt is even real to explain randomly flipping my sh!t last week. But, hey, whatever, it's gone now! Bring on fall; I'm happy again! Lol!

4. Four words: Starbucks caramel apple spice. I was reading blogs the other day and saw Jamie's post about this stuff. From that point on, I neeeeeded it. I don't mean wanted it; I needed it. I may or may not have structured dinner around being able to go get some for dessert. And I also grabbed Eric some b/c I'm nice (and I wanted someone to share in the awesomness of the spice). Mmmmm....

5. Companies running campaigns for the UW. Last week/week before was kinda rough at the oficina. I'm getting quite a few "yeah, that company was bought out and isn't running a campaign" and "yeah, we're not going to do one this year.. sorry.." But, when I get someone who is engaged in the campaign, I practically come through the phone and hug them. I've been successful in getting campaigns into TWO companies that've never had one before! That really pumps me up, people. I also have FOUR campaign kickoffs next week at my companies! Hooray!

6. Flu shots. I think they're awesome. However, I haven't ever gotten one b/c I'm scared. To have it or not to have it, I dont know. But, if they're keeping people healthier around me, that's still something to be thankful for so I dont get sick. Just sayin.

7. Fall television. Enough said.

8. A big concert weekend! So excited to head to DMB on Friday with Eric and then drive to OKC on Saturday to see KOL with Kel!

9. Target. I spent the whole weekend (off and on) looking for stuff (like jewelry to match that shirt below) and found nothing. However, I go to Target and it was like the heavens opened. Mind you, I kinda feel badly b/c I really didn't NEED anything and have made a pact with myself to purchase nothing else.

Anyway, lookie! Got this (for 19.99!!) to wear to KOL on Saturday!!
And I got these to wear with it.. and other stuff! They're just as cute as the ones I was looking at this weekend at the mall, but WAY under the ridic prices at the mall! Hooray!

10. And b/c I like even numbers... it's ALMOST FRIDAY!!!!!!! I have running water (thank goodness), a roof over my head in a great little apartment I've decided to be a lot more thankful for, a fab and supportive boyfriend (and he has running water, too), a great little sidekick pup, a good job....I could go on. I'm just sayin. Sometimes I need to adjust my attitude when I get in a funk and I definitely have. (and some of your comments about the renting vs. buying really helped with that, so thank you b/c I needed it). :) I'm thankful for a lot. I should mention some of it more...

Have a great Thursday, peeps!

Oh, and I got a necklace at Target to go with that shirt, too!! I took the majority's advice-gold chains-I think there are like three in multiple lengths. :)

Wishful AND Way Back Wednesday!

Thanks so much for the help with the necklace below, peeps!!! I'm seriously one of those ppl who ask the salesperson for their opinion when it comes to jewelry. Yeah. I am. Anyway, I did this post last night, but saved it as a draft so I could post it today! So, here goes Wishful and WBW! :)

Been wanting to join in the Wishful Wednesday over at the Seattle Smith's, but also totally want to keep up with Way Back Wednesday! Soooo..here's both!

'I wish' .... My pet could talk because I have been dying to know _____!

(I dont know why the font is showing up so big. Whatever.) I wish Gracie could talk b/c I've been dying to know A LOT! First, why the heck does she jump on the bed sometimes, but act completely helpless sometimes (and therefore I lift her onto it. spoiled much? yeah.) I'd want to know what her favorite treats are...and if she prefers the tv on when I'm gone or if that really just bugs her...and where her favorite place to take walks is! I'd want to know why she likes to sleep on top of the sofa.. haha.. and why she hates the blow dryer... and why she licks blankets and towels. And basically, I'd want her to be able to respond when I talk to her! But if she talked back, I'd prolly have to cut out the baby voice I get with her sometimes. Unless she likes it. I think she does. haha.. And now, here's Gracie dawg!! Oh, and I'd ask her what she wants to be for Halloween, too! :) She's such an awesome little doggie. I'd want to know whatever she'd want to tell me if she could talk. :)

And now for Way Back Wednesday!!

This pic is of Kelli and me getting ready to go to the law school Halloween party in 2006! I love this b/c she has a huge fake bird.. on her shoulder... There are stories from this night that seriously amuse me.. but none involve me... haha! Posting this b/c my brain has been on Halloween lately (any ideas on what Eric and I could be??!!!) and also b/c I'm going to see Kelli this weekend in OKC!! We're going to Kings of Leon for her birthday! So excited to hang with her and go to the concert! :)
Other randomness: The Hills-stupid and I didn't even finish it. The City-excellent. Biggest Loser-I'm beginning to really dislike that chick who passed out and had to be hospitalized..what's her name? Tracy? Yeah. SYTYCD will get watched tomorrow. My Tuesday is out of control. I'll admit that. Happy Wednesday!!

Accessorize Me!

Hi, I'm Jackie's new shirt. She plans to wear me this weekend to either Dave M@tthews on Friday or to K!ngs of Leon on Saturday. (She's also very proud of herself for getting me on sale at JCrew b/c she thinks I will look fabtastic under an oversized cardigan later this year). I believe she plans to wear me with dark jeans and heels..up in the air whether they'll be skinny jeans or not, but that doesn't matter. Here's what I need help with. Jackie can't decide what to pair with me!
necklace for sure, but...

purely gold? maybe multiple strands, but something simple?
...or maybe gold with pearls or other bobble type things, but still fairly simple?
Or would you go more dramatic with something bigger, bulkier? OR would you go silver and/or black?

I'm asking b/c I really think lots would look good okay with it sooo bring on your stylish opinions, peeps b/c I think I'm gonna go grab a necklace after work tomorrow.. likely somewhere cheaper like Forever21 or Francescas or even Amer!can Eagle. (they have cute necklaces). :) If I had more time, I would have ordered something on Stella & Dot! Such a cute site and her blog is great! I entered her blog contest once..didn't win, but still love the jewelry! Go check it out!!!

And thank you thank you thank you for the compliments on my dress I wore to the wedding!!! I got it last year at a boutique in Chicago called Akira! Their stuff is actually really affordable...I think it was like 40 bucks!!!, but they don't list everything online *sad face* :)

Weekend Recap!

Okay, I want you to see something before I get into the weekend. Check out my little beast, Gracie.. She does this almost every time I leave. She heads over to the french door/windows and looks out (lower left peeking around the curtain). I wave at her and she sits there til I get in the car..then goes on about her doggie stuff. How freaking adorable, right?! Yeah. I love it. There was a time she stopped doing it when I was super busy and I felt like a bad parent or something.. haha.. We bonded and all is good with the world again. :)
Okay, Friday night, I shopped for shoes.. and turned up NOTHING. I have a question-are peep toes IN for fall? B/c they're everywhere. And my feet get cold, people. So I'm having an issue with this...haha.. I do, however, love the shoes out right now.. I even love the ones that look like your feet are in mini torture devices. They're haute! I just have an issue spending like a hundred bucks on shoes I likely can't wear once the temp drops. *sigh*

Soooo Saturday, headed to the tailgate!! Even though we had a wedding during the actual game, Eric didn't want to miss tailgating! And neither.did.I. :) Number one. Apron. Eric. haha... :)
His parents have a really awesome tailgate spot on the new tailgate area-I love it! I'm really digging the new area...everyone comes together and it's so fun! Grillmaster Eric. ;)
Ran into Katy who'd driven in from D town for the game
...and we may have tracked down the Incredibles/J@y Leno look alike new mascot. I have no idea what I was doing, but it ended up being pretty funny...
The band performing in the distance for the alumni tailgate :)
Headed out to Catoosa for Eric's friends' wedding! The flash wasnt on in this one, but I liked our smiles. Damn flash. Arg. hahaha...
Not that this one isn't cute.. Just sayin...(yes, I realize it's pretty much the same picture. Dont judge me. haha).
Jared's face.. awesome.. haha..
They'd taken dance lessons and performed their rehearsed dance-cute cute. :)
This little guy was kinda awesome. He was amazingly chill during the wedding and then stole the dance floor during the reception (as you can see)..haha..
Chris, Eric, Ryan :)
Carrie headed to get cake and returned with a 2lb plate o dessert... We opted to make fun (until we went to get our own, that is). ;)
Finally, last night's Jazz night at Ciao! Eric went to high school with the singer, Olivia. She's seriously awesome, guys.. for real. She even won an award this year to honor young professionals in jazz.
Wanna check her out? Here's a video. :)

I got a headband at Forever 21 and I can't decide if I can pull it off or not.. haha.. But, I figured a dimly lit room with jazz and wine was a good place to give it a shot (as opposed to a large, bright room with lots of people who could make fun of me, without alcohol). ;) This pic makes me laugh b/c I was giving Eric a hard time for making a funny face in the first photo (and I ended up kinda looking like a b!tch..oops). It's funny b/c I give him a hard time, but I actually love it b/c they're hilarious to look back on...and they take away the cheese factor I tend to bring to the table with my "let's take another (boring and posed) photo!!" ;)
...and he still smiled for my boring and posed one. A good man. ;)
Welp, came home from work today and they have the sidewalk pretty much dug up! I guess a water main broke *nervous* But it should be fixed tomorrow... So I guess that's good news! Headed over to Sara's to watch Gossip G!rl and then maybe over to Eric's for a shower (I owe him.. seriously.. I've kinda been a space invader lately...).

I hope everyone had a fabtastic weekend! PS.. I'm getting giddy excited about the possibility of Chicago hosting the Olympics! And I'm also really excited for TWO concerts this weekend! Yes, it's Monday and I'm talking about Friday. Whatever. Love love.

Monday Mania! :)

Gooood Monday morning! So, I haven't done my weekend recap b/c Eric and I went to go hear a jazz singer at C!ao last night so I got home late. :) In case you haven't been to jazz night in their side bar area, you totally should. We went to hear the same singer that was there on my birthday (who Eric knows and was going to have sing me a song before I totally ruined it.. He's a good boyfriend. Fact.). :) Anyway, I'll post links and stuff with my weekend recap pics! :)

So, yesterday, I got home and my lovely LLs were milling around out front. I guess my downstairs neighbor heard water running allllll day and called. So, I'm thinking "Crap. If there's another leak in my apt, I'm gonna flip." There wasn't. Oh no.. they think it's in the walls or something or below the apt. *nervous* So, in the meantime, I have zero h20 at my casa or in the whole buidling. Zero. I showered at Eric's last night and bought water bottles n stuff in my optimistic hope that it'll be fixed sooner than later. (riiiiight...). It's really not that bigofa deal (ask me again in two days) b/c I can always head to my mom's or Eric's, but still. I think I'm at kinda a weird place with the apt. I WANT to move, but is buying a house right now sensible? I dont think so really. *sigh* B/c for example.. if something like this happened while I was the homeowner, well.. that sucks.. and it would likely destroy my savings. Eric was quick to point out that a lot of peeps who I know that own houses are on dual incomes..and were/are on the dink plan which always helps (dual income no kids..haha)...while most of my single friends are renters. Good point, Eric. Good point indeed.

I hate to go on and on about this so thanks for reading this rant. I'm just not sure what to do.. Move? Rent a house? Rent another apt? Try to buy a house and pray nothing goes significantly wrong with it? (for Planner McPlan Jax, that won't work). Just last week, a friend had a tree fall on her house. Um. What?! It's stuff like that which makes me groan with nervousness about being a homebuyer. *le sigh* I wish our community had more townhomes, condos, etc. Plus, there's a part of me now that...while I will always love midtown... am starting to realize the bonus in moving to a newer home.

Without a dual income (or dink plan.. haha.. that still makes me laugh a lot), I'd really like to make a leetle more (wouldn't we all, right? haha) to buck the student loan payments while enabling me to purchase said home without frustration. :) It is what it is, but I'm just feeling a leetle frustrated or something, ya know. Then I start re-evaluating everything-should I consider changing jobs? Then, I start going off in my little brain about my career path. It's really a confusing spiral of thoughts...haha...so I try to avoid sinking into the overly-analytical-self-evaluative process and play the "let's avoid this whole thing" game.. until something breaks in my apt.. *laughing at myself*

*shrug* Moving on...

I have been toooouchy lately. I'm checking it at the door, peeps..or trying to. Ever get like that? Where something that would normally kinda bug ya becomes earth shattering? LOL! It's bizarre. Now that I've acknowledged it, my game plan is to just shove chocolate in my mouth or something when I feel like I'm being touchy. I like this plan. :)

I hope you're having a good Monday! I really am despite sounding like I'm not..haha... I didn't mean for my bloggy to come across that way if it did. Just venting in the abstract, I suppose. :) Have a good day! Weekend update complete with pics to come this evening. :)

Murphy's Law Morning...

So, I got ready and....

* ...walked in the kitchen, realized Gracie got sick...b/c I stepped in it. (Yes, I know. I made the same face when it happened that you're likely making right now. )
* ...cleaned it, now running late
* ...went back to bedroom to get my black UW shirt to wear for my presentation today
* ...and she was laying on it...
* ...couldnt find the lint brush, so shook the hell out of the shirt to remove the white hair, cursing the whole time (not at her, though. She didn't know what was going on...I love that furry little beast *sigh*)
* ...went in the bathroom to grab allergy pill
* ...knocked my vitamin bottle alllll over the bathroom somehow (oh someday to have storage so everything isn't crammed on the same shelf...that would be amazing)
* ...finally got that taken care of and left..
* ...only to get here and realize I left my bagel with strawberry (mmm) cream cheese in a baggie on the counter
* ...so now I'm hungry. Arg.

Ready for the weekend. I'm SO going shoe shopping after work today.. haha.. :) Happy Friday, everyone! Hoping my presentation goes well and very glad the sun's out today! :)

(PS.. Grey's was pretty good last night, right? Yeah. Not amazingsauce, but pretty good. Haven't watched Flash Fwd yet)

Thursday Randomness...

A peek into my brain this am. I don't promise excitement.

1. I dont really want Bella and Edward to be together in real life. I'm not a fan of these stories in the news, etc. B/c they're teenagers.. and will break up..and then will ruin my movies with their drama. Stopit now. ;)

2. What are your buildings security policies? That sounds creepy. Let me explain.. I'm fascinated by different companies' policies when I go to meetings there. Some take a copy of my drivers license and I have to wear it as a nametag. Some give me copies of their security handbooks. Some have no receptionist and therefore I stand outside scrolling through a posted list of numbers only to pick up the lone phone outside the bldg and hope someone answers when I dial. Others have seemingly zero security, no receptionist, and I walk in, left to roam the halls til someone appears....

3. Dr. Pepper and I have made friends again b/c this place has no Pepsi. I think I'm alright with that.

4. My allergies are FINALLY feeling better. This is good news b/c I have a presentation tomorrow where I'm the only speaker to like 80 ppl in an atrium of a building..aka I'm gonna have to yell a little. I'm somewhat nervous b/c my bossman of my division is coming with me for fun. I like speaking in front of randoms. I dont like the "judging, watching, look at the baby look at the baby.." hahaha...

5. Did you watch Cougar T0wn? It was actually really funny.. like almost laugh out loud funny in an awkward, no-she-didnt, kind of way.. I will watch it again fo sho! Tonight is out of control: Flash Forward, Greys, Project Runway, Community. This also reminds me I need to pay my cable bill.

6. My mom called my dog fat. I'm having issues with this b/c she is starting to look a little rotund. My child is getting obese, people. We've been walking more, dog parking more and I've been cutting her treats in half. I feel like a doggie dietician. Just sayin. ;)

7. I really really really want some sassy heels for my dress this weekend I'm wearing to a wedding! In lieu of purchasing a new dress (even though I really wanted to...and found one I really like), I'm saving money and instead wearing a cute black one I already have (and have only worn once). That said, I wanna buy something that'd get some more wear-fun heels! Maybe some sassy animal print or something funky? Ya know.. something I could also throw with jeans and a black sweater (aka my favorite thing in the winter). Hoping I'll find some!

Reasons today was awesome...

I got to slide down a f!reman's pole!! In three inch heels!

Went with another loaned exec to the local fire stations for the companies to come in on their big trucks and hear our presentations. (They call each station a "company"). I totally learned the lingo and feel very in the loop. haha... A nice fireman drove us around all day station to station in the big wig fire SUV! We had a lot of participation in the campaign but I also got to slide down the pole! *excited squeal*I didn't even ask! Jeff (our fireman friend) said "hey, wanna go down the pole?" I was like "Um... " *nervous* He said "Here, I'll go first.. and be down there to catch ya just in case.." So, I immediately responded with an enthusiastic "OKAY!"

Every time the trucks went out, people kept saying "Hop on the truck! Go with em!" I wanted to, but...yeah... I can put that off til some other time. :) The pole was enough for today in business attire.. haha! Totally wish I would have gotten a pic, but didn't think that'd be appropriate and didn't know if I was even supposed to be doing it, ya know... *shrug*

Other reasons today was awesome:
El Rio Verde with Eric after my pole adventures! Mmmm salsa..... :) It's authentic Mexican food and so so good. And that guy I date kinda makes me happy, too. In case you were unsure from all the previous posts...haha...;)

Hope you had a great day! And Grey's starts tomorrow!!!!! As does that Flash Forward show which I just realized was based on a book..hmm..I am so ready for the weekend already!

Way Back Wednesday!

I really want to make one of those little icon things for Way Back Wednesday but was being indecisive on what image I wanted to use for the icon this evening so maybe next week.. haha.. :) So, sometimes I don't jump on Way Back Wed (WBW) b/c I forget, am traveling, am tired, etc etc etc.. but I still like to keep it going when I can b/c I think it's fun to grab old pics and post em with a story! I love that Stacia started this whole thing! :) If you wanna join, would love to see your way back! Leave a comment if you're feeling WBW this week and jump on the bandwagon!

Happy first day of Fall!! Fall makes me think of lots of things.. Halloween, pumpkin patches, leaves, brisk weather, scarves (got my partner in the scarf swap btw!! So excited!), fireplaces, the fair.. oh.. and OKT!BERFEST! So, while I had it on the brain, decided to use it for WBW today! I think (forgive me if I'm wrong) this was O-fest 2006! See Ashley in there?!
Poor Andrew. (Sarah, your husband gets points for being awesome and posing. That is all).
Had SO much fun at O-fest that year. And may have also taken a pics with people with mullets all night. I was going to post a funny one, but then decided against it. It was a bad decision, albeit funny... but yeah.

Speaking of hair, I had mine done today! Hoooooray! I moved my appt so I could attend the football game last weekend and felt like it was long overdo. I had some dark blonde added in and my color looks more fall-blonde than beach-blonde. Love it!

Got to head to a meeting at my regular job today! They had their UW breakfast and it was soooo good to see some of my coworkers I havent seen in a month (can you believe I've been at the UW a month this week?)! I've missed them so much! Tomorrow, I'm helping another loaned exec with his accounts at the fire stations.. haha.. This, my friends, should be interesting. I really just want to wear the hat. Let's not kid ourselves. (Getting up and putting camera in purse right now). On this note, getting campaign packets in one by one.. and have a long long loooooong time before I'm anywhere near my goal, but it feels good to be getting some stuff in.

And finally, when it comes to fall, as I said above I think of everything from pumpkin patches to scarves and Oktoberfest. (I'm really wanting to go a pumpkin patch this year btw.. That whole broken back thing on Halloween last year was a total buzzkill. ;) ). But, what do you think about when you think of fall?

Weekend Recap and Fall Fashion

Thanks for your well wishes! I feel quite a bit better, but am not pushing it. I did that whole sleeping-propped-up thing b/c laying somewhat flat made me unable to breathe. Awesome. Add a tissue box beside me. It was really sexy. Trust me. (ew).

Anyway, here are some pics from the weekend! I 100% lost my voice Friday and upon looking at some of the pics, I look about like my voice sounded.. for reals.. so I edited. haha.. It's my blog. I can.

Friday night was Eric's bday thing at White Owl with some friends! Linda baked a cake!! I have a feeling one of my new years resolutions will be to bake more things. My other resolution had better be to work out more then.. haha..
I have no idea why this is blurry! Blerg! I would have re-taken if I'd known. *sigh*
Ashley came too! And she brought some awesomesauce HOMEMADE puppy cupcakes for Gracie dog.. or pupcakes if you will. Gracie wouldn't pose with one when I gave it to her. Trying to snap a good photo became a cruel game of teasing her, so I just gave up... And we may have taken like 4 photos...of this same pose.. b/c we couldnt seem it get it right... hilarious.
Saturday, bright and early wake up call to head to Norman where we ultimately got slaughtered.. but let's not talk about that. I love going to the games, so it was fun regardless. :) We headed to Eric's dad's friend's tailgate for some yummy food and pregame fun. Can you spot Eric and Timberly? It's tough. ;)
Specks of blue in a sea of crimson...
Timberly and I gave up on the game somewhere around third quarter and started talking about other randomness b/c watching was just too painful..haha..
The most annoying fans of the day. Note everyone sitting around them. Note them standing directly in front of us.. well, directly in front of Timberly actually. It was ridiculous. There really is a soul mate for everyone. And these people found theirs in each other. Likely b/c they were the only two people standing at the football game. Just sayin...
The Golden Hurr!cane didn't have a stellar performance. *sigh* But it really was fun to go! Happy Eric and his dad invited Timberly and me to tag along. :) We had fun... even though we may have taken the TU flag down for the ride home... haha... (PS-Have you seen the new mascot?)
Saturday night, I was so allergy-ed out and Eric had a headache, sooooo we got a pizza, picnicked on the floor and watched tv....til we passed out before 11pm.. haha.. But it was fabulous, people. Fabulous! *Happy sigh*

Then Sunday, I took G money to the puppy park and she made some friends! She actually played in the small doggie area til she was played out! I only had my phone so here's a cute pic of her with one of her doggie friends she met named Miley! haha..
Finished the weekend with chips and salsa and girl time at Los Cabos with Marla! :) Not bad, given my nose blowing every 5 seconds. And in case you can't notice by my weekend activities, I think I was in denial that I wasn't feeling well. But last night, it hit and sleeping was sooooo good... Stupid allergies. :)

On a completely random note, when the hell did JCR#W get cool? I never really liked their stuff a lot, but this season, I am pretty much in love with the store. I was looking for something to wear to an upcoming wedding and wandered in there this weekend. I haven't purchased anything b/c uh.. it's stupid-overpriced. For reals. But.. just b/c I'm obsessed, how.adorable.is.this.stuff?!

I seem to be drawn to anything with ruffles like this, texture, etc..
HELLO.. this is awesome.
Hi, I'm Jackie and I should have this outfit. Please tell my credit card company they should award me a bonus for being awesome. Eh? (and this girl also makes me want to dye my hair brown at my appt tomorrow but that's another story).
AND they have awesome jewelry.. like this! But uh.. this is 150 bucks. Yes. It is. Case in point as to why I wasn't lying when I said it was overpriced stuff.
Okay, enough of the ramblingness. I'll give you your life back now. :) Have a great Tuesday!

Weekend Recap... coming soon.. :)

Dudes.. I am so congested! Like breathing-through-my-mouth-semi-darth-vader congested. So, I MUST get to bed early and am choosing to upload weekend photos tomorrow. Plus, I'm kinda medicated so who knows what I'd blog...:) But, gotsta check on my blog peeps.. and also blog. :)

So.... my weekend was..If I had to pick three adjectives, I'd pick: (1) fabulous, (2) needed and (3) fulfilling. For reals. Those aren't just surface descriptions.

I didn't realize how completely and totally out of it I was last week til I got some sleep, some distance, and some fun chill time. So in the meantime til I upload photos, what are some adjectives that describe your weekend, peeps?

Hope you have a great Monday, everyone! This week kicks off some SERIOUS tv premieres and I'm ridiculously pumped. I'll be on my sofa with my tissues blowing my nose through every dvr'ed moment of House and Grey's Anatomy, that's for sure! :) I love my tv shows!

Random and Out of Order

So I was trying to set up my blog to post later and was quickly adding pics.. and realized in my somewhat distracted state, I uploaded pics out of order. haha.. Whatever. *shrug*

And first...a story you'll laugh at from today... Background: from losing my sh*t (blog post below) to Britney (a late night) to United W@y stuff to my first presentation at 7am tomorrow (nervous!) to allergies to a somewhat health scare (below post), I think I was just plain spent. So, guess what I did. I got home, came upstairs and, feeling like CUUUHRAP, opted to lay down for a bit. Woke up after a couple hours, decided to go to Target and to get some food and realized my rental car's lights were on. (remember I have the rental for while Im at the UW since I do so much driving). I thought "Oh no..." I got closer and realized... the car was RUNNING. I thought "oh no! I locked my keys in the car since I was so out of it!" I got even closer and realized... the doors were not locked. So yeah...the car was running. For hours. With the doors unlocked. Good job, Jax. Goooood job. *shaking head at myself and considering myself EXTREMELY lucky!*

Okay, so... out of order randomness...

After I finished with the Day of C@ring last Friday, I took little G money to the doggie park!! A stupid nice man gave her a treat. I don't advise giving ONE dog a treat in a park full of dogs. My little pup made NO friends, but instead proceeded to growl at every dog who came close to her and her special treat. It got so bad, I picked up the treat and then had about 10 dogs around me....The whole thing was likely funny to watch, I think. I opted to take her home rather than give away her treat b/c I knew she really wanted it (yes, she's spoiled. I know). However, we got in the car.. and notice how interested in the treat she became. Not.at.all. She's such an only child. haha.. wow. Advice: when a dude offers your dog a treat at the dog park, say no. :)
After the pup park, came back and met Sara at Oscar's for a bday happy hr for one of our friends.. Our friend, Tadd, just got a little bulldog and brought him up!! He named him Hef. How adorable is he?! :)
Okay, so during the actual Day of C@ring earlier Friday, I traveled to lots of companies' volunteer projects and snapped photos, thanked them for their help, etc.. One of my companies was assigned to the same place as Eric's group so I got to visit for a bit! They were painting. Obviously.
I have no idea...*laughing*
This was about 6:15 am last Friday morning. We look like we're picketing! (We were told that a couple times, too). It's supposed to say "Give.Advocate.Volunteer. Live Un!ted." It was 6am. Don't blame us for getting the signs out of order. haha... These are some other loaned execs btw!
Kicking off the campaign in the Reynolds Cnter at TU!! :)
They were giving away the sunflower centerpieces so all week I've had some happy sunflowers on my table at home! Love it! I love little casual flowers. Kinda forgot to buy gerber daisies this summer.. I usually pick some up or the house off and on when I see em. :)
Okay, the pics below is from Mon night's Thank You event for Eric's job. It was a party to thank their employees for giving to the UW! :) Eric's involved in his company's campaign so kinda fun that I got to go as his "plus one" but also as a liaison for the UW (hence the black UW polo I was rocking). We're a philanthropic couple.. er..or something.. haha.. ;)
Left there and headed out to my friend, Kristy's, for a Gossip Girl season premiere party...complete with cosmos! Love these girlies! We were all happy to welcome Chuck Bass into our lives.
And in hopes you're still hanging with this completely random blog (sorry!), while I was half awake at Target this evening, lookie what I picked up for UNDER 30 bucks! How cute is this handbag?! I am so in love with my pink coral coach one Eric got me for my bday, but it's officially almost fall and the pink coral isn't going well with some of the fall colors. *sigh* Don't think the pink coral is going away til spring though.. Oh no.. It will come back out with some black attire and add a "pop" with some winter stuff. :) (and I also may have an intention of stopping in the coach outlet when in Dallas in a month and a half..haha..) ;)
Alright, I have my very first presentation on my own tomorrow morning at 7am for about 50 people. I have to introduce a guest speaker, show a video, talk about what we do, answer questions.. agh! Gotta go prep, peeps! Wish me luck-I'm actually quite nervous!

Hope you have a great weekend planned! I also hope your weekend plans involve rooting for your fav football team! We're going down to the TU game in Norman! :)
