So we didn't get "a little" snow

We got about 6 or 7 inches... haha.. Good grief. I stayed home all day yesterday and just spent an hour clearing off my car (I took photos-they're funny). The ice was coming off in sheets the size of trays! I'd just pick it up and toss it to the side! Crazy! That is, once I got down the to ice after all the snow was removed. haha! Wowo.

Glad to have power and hopefully dinnering and a movie tonight. Eric's parentals might come get both him and me (WOOHOO!). I see cars going down my street pretty well, but I'm still fairly chicken and have no idea how other streets are. Besides, I don't REALLY need to leave, so why risk it, ya know? (very proud of my grown-up mode of thought there..haha)

Anyway, here's my friend's casa. She just posted a pic on fbook. Crazy! ha! And people think Tulsa doesn't get bad weather... hmph I say! That whole "but I love having all 4 seasons!" argument is for the birds. Send me somewhere warm. ;)

A Snow Day with Gracie

Working from home today...mostly due to the fact that it took me 10 minutes to get IN my car.. in the back door.. b/c it's so frozen shut. haha.. But, we seem to be done getting ice and are now getting a little snow! I'm cool with it since we're not supposed to get more than 4 or so inches...and b/c I still have power! WOOHOO! It flickered a little yesterday during the freezing rain, but that's about all. I sat here, fully clothed (it was kinda hilarious), in case I had to leave b/c I didnt want to find clothes in the dark. I'm so overdramatic I suppose.

Anyway, here's what working from home looks like with Gracie dog... She's seriously rather cat like sometimes.. haha..

Here she is DARTING to the door after she went to the bathroom... (note her leash is long enough for me to stand on the porch while she runs out and does her business in this kind of weather.. haha.. yeah, I'm lazy).
She's my kid... I love this little dog.. but man, if she doesn't stop climbing all over me while I'm trying to get things done...gracious... haha...

Wherever you are, I hope you're staying warm! I wish I'd picked up some vino before this weather hit. Just sayin. I'm bummed that a sushi dinner with Eric and friends is canceled...and that I'm likely stuck at the casa, but glad to have power and be warm! :)

Happy weekend! :)

Sleeping Next to a Flashlight

Hello blog peeps! (Ps.. on twitter, it's "tweeps" so here, I guess it'd be "bleeps"?? That's weird. Yes, I really think about these things).

I'm home! I'm home! Meeting went well! :) We came back a night early b/c the ice storm of '10 is about to hit Tulsa apparently. I don't make fun of this b/c in 2007, I was without power for THIRTEEN days when the last whopper storm hit. I live in "midtown" which doesn't have the power lines buried like the newer 'hoods b/c the neighborhoods are older (and refused to pass a tax that'd dig up their yards to bury the lines. I realize there's more to this story, but that's what I'm going with right now.)

This footage is right on point with what it looked like EVERYWHERE but the music is a little whoa dramatic. (PS are you as alarmed as I am that this person is driving around with trees down everywhere...while FILMING? haha.. Whatever).

So, I hit t town, picked up my car and went to Reasors for some reinforcements. If I recall, I paid 20 bucks for one of the LAST flashlights in a local store... without power IN the store (shopping in somewhat dark is odd)... in 2007. So, got some some pb and j, matches, flashlights, chips, etc.. and hopefully will be okay for a short time if I have to be.

Trying to get sleepy and watching the Biggest Loser. Okay, peeps.. isn't it slightly mean when they put these peeps through awkward challenges? My least fav was the balance beam one last season. Why would you want to put severely overweight people on a balance beam and tape them trying to get across? I get it I get it.. It's the teamwork, the blah blah.. but c'mon.. just take it like it is and you wonder who came up with that too, don't ya?

And finally.. this winter storm thing is making me self diagnose with SAD (seasonal affective disorder). I'm overdramatic. I know. I want a tan. No I dont want to look TAN in Feb, but sun kissed.. yeah.. *wistful sigh* At least Lost starts next week and I can pretend to be on the island with them.

That's all I've got. Cross your fingers for no loss of electricity for Tulsa Jax over here! :)

Need a giggle to get ya through the long week? Have your volume on but not up super loud. This had me going into silent laugh mode it's so funny.

Weekend Recap

So, I was going to blog last night, but apparently passing out on the sofa with my dog seemed like a better idea.. haha... :) I hope everyone had a great weekend! I'm prepping for another (and my last) meeting this week-I travel again tomorrow! :) Then, back to normalcy!

Here's a pic of my group from my meeting last week.. Note The Bachelor on in the background of our little room we were eating in. :)

And now for the weekend... So, proud to say I've kept up with my 5K training! Love running with the group and having accountability in my friend, Rachel, too. :) Went yesterday and got some better shoes. Mine were (1) old...actually really old and (2) whatever I'd seen that was cute/on sale. Sooo figured nicer shoes would be a better fit for my recovering back. :) Went to a couple places and ended up at the place I'm training with for the 5K! Tried on like 6 different ones with advice from the owner re my foot, etc, ran outside in them for a sec and ended up with the Mizuno Wave Alchemy 9. :) Haven't run in them yet, but looking forward to it!
Friday, Eric and I saw the movie Book of Eli... I don't give it many stars. I love Denzel and Mila, so that was a bonus, but it was pretty violent, which was not a bonus. The story was okay, but the way they carried it out was kinda "eh."

Saturday, I went to lunch with mom and then shopping for some jeans for her. I think she may have tried on 30 pairs before opting for some cute ones at the Gap. :) Jeans are so hard.

Then, Sat night Eric and I tried some place he'd found through Chowhound (online) called Joyners. It's a home cooked food place. And it was SO.FREAKING.GOOD. The "buffet" (but it's not a walk through buffet.. it's cooked to order) came with two meats, three sides and a bread...oh and a dessert. Eric got smothered pork chops & catfish while I got catfish & rotisserie chicken. And the owner sat and talked with us for awhile.. super nice retired gentleman. :) I highly recommend if you're in the Tulsa area... :) It's off 21st and Memorialish in a shopping center. :)

Eric before we started eating.. aka before we had to be rolled out of there. Good thing I'm running these days.. haha.. :)

Spent some of Sunday at work...yeehaw.. but overall a really good weekend! Productive, fun, low key... The only thing that didnt get done was cleaning my apt.. and wow does it need it. *head hung in shame*

Okay peeps hope your week is off to a good start!

I really want to see...

This movie...

...and the SEASON PREMIERE of LOST... the last season! The countdown has begun, folks. PS.. if you're not all caught up, this mini preview ruins quite a bit so dont watch it unless you're 100% caught up!

Do you read spoilerfix? If not, it's addictive. I feel so in the know. Spoilerfix

Just got home from my meeting (did a 2hr drive in 1.5 hrs...in a minivan.. yeehaw!), returned the rental then headed straight to watch TU beat ORU in bball tonight! Woohoo! Well worth rushing there to see! (Plus, hot dogs at sporting events are kinda my fav...and I was starving so that was a bonus!)

So.sleepy.right.now. My meetings went rocktastically. But, I have my annual performance review tomorrow first thing and then have to start re-creating everything I did for THIS week's meeting for my next one next week in another market area my VP is over. :) Oh, and Joel McHale is on Coco tonight (TEAM CONAN! haha!) sooo gotta at least try to stay awake through that....

Hope everyone is having a great week! Hope you stalk some of your bloggidies tomorrow! XOXO! :) Happy Wednesday!

Weekend Recap!

Soooo Thurs after my spin class o fun, I took my very sore rear end and headed to McNellies for some food and a few beers with my United W@y peeps! :)

These two kept me sane.. "my peeps" if you will. Love them! :) We called ourselves the "A" team in our little corner handling Industry & General Business accounts.. :) I need a tan. *le sigh* (mentally repeating healthyskinismoreimportant... hmph)
8:00 am Sat morning, the alarm went off at Eric's casa.. at 8:20ish (haha), I climbed out of bed and got dressed to meet Rachel (in black sweater in pic above!) for our first run w/ Runners W0rld in Tulsa! 5K here we come! :)

I look sleepy....haha...And yes..note Eric got up with me (this picture didn't take itself obviously) and even made my blinky mcblinkerson self some toast...*smiles* I invited him to the 5K training, but he opted to support me instead.. haha.. :) (He has a really bad knee, so he bikes)
Rachel and me in our "before" pic.. as in before the 5K in March! :) This was after we ran on riverside with the group in light rain in like 40 degrees. We're hard core.. haha.. okay okay, but let me think so. ;) They said 85 peeps signed up and about 50 showed up. (It's a free program!). So, they split us in two groups and off we went...
Then headed to Jenny's for a Pampered Chef party. :) I ordered a cook book and some other stuff. Hey, ya gotta start somewhere, right?

Sarah looks really interested...
Baby Parker loves Pampered Chef...cant you tell?
Sarah and our hostess, Jenny :)
"these tongs look like weapons" Yes, we're very mature.
Reasons to not leave us alone with fun kitchen tools... (no this wasn't a knife or anything sharp. obviously.)
Sat night was some girls time-sushi with Timberly (Y-U-M) and then Oscars with some of the girls. :) No pics.. I dunno why... *shrugs*

Then headed to Eric's and he wanted to watch The Hurt Locker.. I had no idea what it was but groaned something like "waaarrrr movvvie? ew..." haha...But, I found myself getting engrossed pretty quickly. Yeah, it's a war movie, but it's won all kinds of awards b/c uh.. it's good. It's about a bomb squad in Baghdad... Anyway, good story. We watched it on his apple tv, but I noticed it's in the theater here now, too... Hmmm.. Strange. Whatevs...
Sunday, lazed around with that guy I date ;), grabbed some uber healthy breakfast together (lies, but it was goooooood. anything good should be healthy.. haha) and then headed in to work to get some stuff done in prep to leave manana...

The week includes a meeting in Norman starting tomorrow, hopefully back in time to hit up the TU v ORU bball game Wed, then who knows! :) Right now just hoping the meeting goes well. :) Maybe blog from the hotel. :) Til then, hope you had a great weekend and if you're reading this Monday, hope your week is starting off well!

"Slow your role"

I went to my first spin class this week. It was a 45 minute class. It felt like 16 years and I was fairly confident I was going to die before the class was over. It didn't help that there was some awkward gentleman with a Kramer (Seinfeld) hairdo to the right of me cheering all of us new girls on (there were three new girls). Mind you, I'm cool with this guy, but for real...I don't need him looking at us yelling "YEAH! You've got this! Push it!" when he's not even the teacher and his hair makes me frustrated.

(no this isn't my class. I stole this from the interwebs)
My teacher was awesome-in amazing shape, super cute little perky blonde girl. She even had to take a "I might puke-let's slow for a second" break at one point. Lemme tell you.. if my TEACHER almost puked, I'm surprised I'm alive.

The class, my friends is 45 minutes. I couldn't see the clock sooooo about the time I felt like it should be over (realistically, not just 3 minutes in...haha), M (teacher) said "Okay, give it all you've got.. Let's go breathless b/c this is the last mountain.. I see the end.. I see the finish line.. C'mon people!" So I did.. I gave it all I had b/c well.. she'd just said we were at the end....

Then the song ended.

And she said "Okay, new song..."

Oh. She meant the end of the RACE not the end of the class. *expletive here*

When we'd speed up (and I thought I might face plant into the handlebars) then slow down, she'd say "slow your role" which made me mentally like her more b/c it amused me...

The moment I didn't like her so much was when this came out of her mouth "Okay, that's the end of our 45 minute class...but I'm feeling it today.. whatdya say we go an hour or an hour ten today?! Let's speed it up!" The whole class sped up. I got off my bike and left. Yeah, I really did. I signed up for 45 minutes by gosh, that's what I was doing...haha.. :)

Overall observations: Those seats suck. It's been three days and my @ss still feels bruised. Since that class, I've been informed about padded shorts cyclists wear...and padded seat covers some peeps like. I've filed that in: things I wish I knew BEFORE the class.

But, I don't think I've had that good of a workout in a LONG.TIME.- it felt great!!! I will definitely be going back, but not quite sure when b/c my friend, Rachel, and I started an official couch to 5K program with a local running group.... and even ran in the rain yesterday morning! Yup, I got my arse outta bed on a Saturday morning and took one step towards my goal of running a 5K in March! :) Hooray! So they run on the same days as spin class...Whatevs. That just gives me a couple months to let my rear heal...b/c at this point, I feel like it'll take that long! YEEEEEOUCH!

***********
Random: Sending blog apologies if I'm random & not overly comment-riffic, etc over the next couple weeks. MAJOR work meetings out of town this week, then I come back and leave again for more... Then, I "slow my role" (yup, still amuses me) for a couple months I think... :)

I've come to realize

I saw some peeps doing this and liked it... sooooo... I decided to do it too....

I've come to realize... I'd rather tape bacon to my ass than get up in the morning and work out. I'm an evening worker-outer. It is what it is.

I've come to realize... I don't love Jan/Feb (nothing about this year, just in general) so to stay optimistic, I'm considering Jan/Feb just a continuation of 09 b/c it was going really well and '10 is mentally starting for me in March. haha.. :) It's all about perception.

I've come to realize...wearing a little bit darker lipgloss makes me feel more confident since I quit tanning. It adds some "pop!"

I've come to realize... I really want to accessorize more this year! :)

I've come to realize....Mexican food and sushi should be food groups...and well.. they kinda are for me. (and wine. duh.)

I've come to realize...just JOINING the new gym doesnt make me automatically fit. Crap. haha.. (I joined a new gym today!!!! Super excited to hit up a cycling class tomorrow b/c my current gym doesn't offer them! That's right...'current' as in I havent quit yet. That needs to happen tomorrowish..haha b/c having TWO gym memberships definitely doesnt make me more fit...)

I've come to realize... I can't go to the mall right now b/c it makes me (1) want spring and (2) want to spend a lot of cash on the spring clothes out right now! (including the nautical look.. how cute is that right now?!)

I've come to realize...I'm on team Conan.

:) Random, but there ya go. XOXO!

Weekend Recap, etc :)

Thanks for the sweet comments on my last post, peeps.. :) I think I was/am needing a bit of a technology break or something... but I miss my blog too much to stay totally away. It can just get really overwhelming, right?!

Anyway, not in a super bloggidy mood tonight but wanted to post a pic anyway and some other stuff. :) My weekend was good! Eric and I had Mexican on Friday (enchiladas are good for my workout resolution, right? haha.. ) and then saw Youth in Revolt. Some little twit (I like the word twit) pulled the fire alarm and we had to evacuate the theater with like 2 min left in the movie. Sheeesh. But, no need to fret (I can tell you were really concerned). They started it right back up so we could see the end...and gave us two free movie tix...which Eric used to watch that horrible non-Twilight vampire movie out right now with his guy friend. I don't do mean Vampire movies. *shaking head furiously* I only do the Cullens. Hmph! :) haha... :)

Sunday night, Timberly, Ashley and I headed to Ciao for some food then off to a night at the theater (Timberly sent that in an email and I thought it sounded posh "night at the theater"...haha.. so I stole it and used it here). We had about three somewhat older usher people come down on us like we'd committed a serious crime by taking a photo, soooo this was the final pic and I'm sad Timbo isn't in it, but here are Ashley and me before the show w my camera on what I thought was a fun setting but actually messed it up...haha.. whatever. The show was super cute even though we were all pooped by the time it was over (Ashley, Jackie and Timberly=lamesauce on a Sunday night..haha)
And for some other business, I just signed up for the Simply Love Swap over at Katie's blog! I have no idea how she's teaching class, prepping for arrival of an adorable baby AND is running this swap, but I totally dug her scarf swap and this sounds just as fun. :) Plus, I can always use a pick me up in February as it seems to drag on...and on... (as some of my good friends on here can agree with, I know).
Loves of Life

And a fellow Tulsan, college friend, and sorority sista has joined the blogging world! Pop by and say hello if you get a chance! Amanda is at Josserand Family Happenings!

And if you're in need of an "awwww" moment or a pick me up and love pups as much as me, check out this video from Oklahoma City. A firemen is rescuing a dog from a frozen lake when another dog comes to give him a little help out of the water.. A.dorable. :) Takes a min or so to buffer. View it here!

Anyway, hope you're having a great week so far and you saw the craziness on the Bachelor tonight. She's a hussy...whoa em gee... haha.. I need a life. Whatever.

Dear Blog,

Dear Blog,

I am sorry I've been neglecting you. It's been a long week and I just couldn't find time to reconnect. I also dont like to blog unless I have time to comment on others' blogs as well. *sigh* Some things I haven't gotten to talk to you about include my scary puddle jumper flight in the snowstorm... which they had to spray w/ de-icer (whoa...and yes, I took a photo through my window seat window..haha), the less-than-polite teen sitting next to me on the plane who threw his jacket on my lap and took my armrest (hmph!), the awesome men's coat Eric ordered (and was so pumped about b/c it was on crazy sale) that arrived and turned out to be labeled wrong as a men's coat...it was a women's...(haha). I haven't commented on the Bachelor (whoa) or on the Biggest Loser. I forgot to tell you how I bought a space heater b/c I was freaking out about freezing to death in my sleep...til I got it home and got terrified of a fire in my sleep and never even got it out of the box. (Paranoid=me)

I also didn't get to tell you about my friend, L's, father who passed away last week from a long (10 year) battle with cancer. (didn't know you signed up for a semi sad blog, did you? sorry peeps...I dont mean it to be like that...). Last night, you could have found me among a room full of fabulous ladies-some who flew in, some drove in from other cities, some drove from across town... all surrounding our friend, L, with some love, some laughs, support... and A LOT of food and wine (seriously, the amount of food/wine we put away is embarassing). We actually had a really good time..and most importantly, so did L. :) (Think piles of high school photos were brought out...haha). Today, we all joined our friend in support at her father's prayer service....and will do the same tomorrow at his funeral.

While her father is in a much better place, it makes me sad that she's joining some of us who have lost a parent and it also makes me sad to know some of the things she's likely thinking, having lost my father too. Mine was a long time ago and I'm so truly blessed to have my mom, even though we had our years where she likely wanted to send me to boot camp (rightfully so). But that doesn't mean I don't get a little awkward during that whole "father/daughter" dance thing at weddings... *shrug* Anyway, I remember the days when it was weird to have lost a parent...and now it's not quite as weird...which makes me have one of those "I'm really a grown up, arent I?" moments we all have from time to time. Some of those are jubilant and exciting, while others, like this one, are kinda heavy...and that's okay.

So, I've been pretty busy and will definitely try to be better this week, but I've also not been in a blogging mood really.. Mind you, I haven't been in a bad mood..or even an introspective mood...just kinda didn't feel like setting time aside for you, dear blog. Back to normal soon...Until then, hope everyone's well in bloggidy land and had a fulfilling weekend. :) I'm just excited temps are above 20...for.reals. 40 is like a heat wave right now and I'm loving it...

Much love,

Jax

Speakeasy NYE!

Eric and I rang in 2010 1920's speakeasy style at his friends, Carrie and Chris' house! :) Excellent party with great friends and a fabulous theme! :)
Carrie, me, Alicia
Conversation:
Me: *glancing at this pic on my camera after I took it* "You should've been born in the '20s" *laughing*

Eric: Yeah, but then you'd be dating a 90 year old.

Me: *stopped laughing* haha...

Lauren came out to the partay, too for a bit! :)
Our hosts with the most, Carrie and Chris. They built their fabulous new house not too long ago and are getting hitched in October. :)
Most of the boys :)
Somewhere along the way, some of the girls opted to play "champong" (champagne beer pong). They quickly realized that was a very poor idea and opted for a quick game of champagne flip cup... haha.. How do you know you're not in college anymore? When you think playing the game you loved in college is a good idea, then play one round and are ready to go back inside. ;)

attempting to organize said game (In other words, lots of girly shouting and chaos. Personally, I like the guy on the end who obviously wasn't interested in organizing and opted to just indulge in his beverage)
Eric and his bevy of blondes...Okay, this is admittedly not my fav photo in the world, buuuuuut I was capturing Carrie & Chris' wedding announcement they gave us at the party... b/c it had both Eric and my names on it! ...annnnnd therefore am a complete and total cheeseball. What.ever.
They were "beating up the beat" (Jersey Shore). Side note: This wasn't the only time this occurred...
Everyone with their champagne just after the clock struck midnight!
First official photo of 2010!
Eric's friend and his fiance busting a move... ha!
"On a boat" came on...and this happened.
Happy New Year!!!!!!

Lauren was in town from Chicago, Ashley was in town from LA and thanks to Mother Nature, some plans got a little messed up, but glad I still got to hang with these lovely ladies-for a couple movies, some food, some fun...and not nearly enough photos. But, we went to Osaka (hibachi grill) on New Years Day and managed to take a couple pics! :)
No trip is complete without the pose.. Thank you self timer, perched on the paper towel dispenser b/c we thought the random green bathroom was a comical backdrop... haha..
Saturday, Timberly and I opted to hit up the TU basketball game against Colorado! Some nice guy gave me an extra ticket he had as we were walking to the ticket booth and Timberly got a student ticket with her ID (if I still had mine, I totally would have used it.. who knows where it is..*sigh), so watching TU win for FREE was even more fun! :)
Then Sat night, Eric and I headed to Juanita's, a little Mexican place in Jenks (listing the location for fellow Tulsans b/c um.. it's awesome). It's been there 25 years and we'd never heard of it. It's pretty spicey so bring your big girl pants, but it was pretty freaking good and we'll definitely be going back. Then, came back and rented a movie. :)

Holiday weekend= 5 stars. :) 2009 brought everything from a one year anniversary for Eric and me (yay!) to closer relationships with new friends and old. It brought adorable new babies to my group of great friends and some seriously fabulous memories. It also brought some challenges and a very tough economy, along with a monumental first for the Presidency of the country. I'm counting my blessings and cannot believe we're starting 2010! Cheers to all my blogfriends-let's make it a good one! :)

Random Loves :)

Some new stuff I've recently fallen in LURVE with!! :)

1. Girls Night Out Custom Blog Designs! Thank you thank you thank you, Danielle, for my new layout! If you want to spice up your blog, I highly recommend her. She's super sweet, easy to work with, and really listens to what you want. :) I'm also really digging this 3 column stuff and hoping to find some more entertaining/comical/random (not just cheestastic) photos for the right sidebar.

2. Okay, so this isn't a new thing, but my love was renewed as the temperature has been remaining below 30 for what seems like forever now.. aka dry.dry.dry. skin. This stuff is awesome. I saw it on ANTM and decided to give it a shot over a year ago.. Totally loyal user since then. :) Smells pleasant/fresh, not overpowering, really moisturizing but not oily (ew), and hello..it comes in a pretty, purple bottle. What more do you want? ;)
3. My friend recently intro-ed me to this and it was love at first use. I have really fine, straight hair. This stuff by Tigi is a thickifier, energizer and stylizer....and it lives up to it's promise. My hair definitely looks thicker and has more lasting volume, but feels just as soft as if I hadn't used anything on it! And it smells yummy-kinda like grape! hah! :)
3. Dear Aerie, why have I not found you before b/c you and I were obviously meant to be together. Eric got me some cute sweats to wear around his place when I'm over there as part of my xmas present and they're the most comfy, cutest, warmest, softest things EVER. I thought that was a pretty thoughtful gift... or else he was just over me taking his (haha) but I'm going to go with thoughtful...;)
Here are the pants... they're called "the everyday straight" and they're on after Christmas sale now! How do I know this? Oh b/c I went and got myself another pair for my own apt today... haha.. Currently relaxing in them and loving it! (warning: they run a leetle small. I got a size up b/c I like my sweats a little loose). :)
4. I've been wanting a handbag in either gray, black or that dark mustard yellow color...but well.. I really can't justify it especially with spring around the corner (at least I hope so) which means I can break out my fav "everyday" bag Eric got me for my bday last year in that coral color! :) So, lookie what I found at Forever21 without a hefty price tag-this was 20 dollars!
I'll upload some pics from the NYE partay later. I travel this week so I figure my overblogging tonight will even out by my nonblogging some this week? Yeah. Whatever. I dunno... ha.. :) Now off to eat some dinner and catch up on how some of ya'll rang in 2010, etc!

Pardon the construction...

Danielle @ Girls Night Out designs and I have teamed up to let her work her magic and re-do my bloggidy a little! :) I'm so excited! So, just excuse any randomness in the meantime.. :)

Happy New Year!

(started this yesterday but just now finishing so HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!!) :)

I have so much catching up to do on some bloggidies, but had some time in between making guacamole for the partay (for the first time! Let's hope it's edible) and getting all geared up in my flapper attire and opted to put some thought into my resolutions/2010 goals!

Sooo.. here they are.. some random ones and some more serious ones.. In random order:

1. Get my slowly-creeping-closer-to-30 (ew) ass in shape. I have a gym membership. I pay for it every month. But uh... fairly certain my payment as basically been a donation to the gym for the past six couple months b/c I haven't been doing a helluva lot there. *head hung in shame* And I'm workin on a couch to 5K, too!! So that's another goal! Run a 5K this year! Last year, I was "considering changing gyms." Well, that's great, Jax, but to which.one. haha.. SO now I've officially selected a couple that have classes at times that'll work for me and that I'll enjoy and might actually make the switch! One's closer to work and one's closer to home. Obvious bonuses for both-what about you if you commute a little bit for work-prefer a gym closer to work or closer to home? :)

2. Finish.my.bedroom. Last year, I got a new bed that I just needed to paint and then I'd planned to revamp the whole room. Um.. happy 2010 to my old bedroom. haha... I will finish the bed and get new linens, etc, curtains, and make my vision a reality. *affirmative nod*

3. Keep up with the financially planning thing, saving, etc etc.. (This also includes a ceasefire in my rapid shopping lately. Even when it's cheap -love you, Target and Forever21-that doesn't mean it's necessary.)

4. Last year and years prior, I maintain traveling or seeing as much of the country/world as fiscally and feasibly possible. I firmly believe life's about experiences as well as the people you share them with. :) I was very blessed to go to out of town quite a bit last year-Dallas with Eric, and some other places... and cant forget St. Lucia! Doubt I'll be taking as fabulous a vacay as St. Lucia this year, but am resolving to take some time off and go somewhere(s) for sure-even more weekend trips-hopefully with that guy I kinda dig. ;)

5. Make sure the people I care about KNOW I care about them. I'm a big person on maintenance in relationships of all kinds-friends, dating, family. But, sometimes as life gets busy, etc letting people know you care gets tossed aside. And yeah, sure they "know"...but just doesn't hurt to remind em when possible. :)

6. Continue personal development at work, professionally. :) Had a stellar year with all this and hope to continue on the path I'm on and build from it! :)

7. Learn how to cook more (and better..haha)! I've been trying to learn new things and give em a shot. Watch out, here comes domestic Jax! ha!

Overall, I really loved 2009...and my cynical self worries for 2010 b/c 2009 was seriously such a great year. :) haha.. I'm lame, I know. I feel like 2009 was a very blessed year in a lot of regards and I'm so thankful. I'm hoping to keep up all the good stuff that happened in 2009 and build from it as much as possible! May any challenges end on a positive and may 2010 bring much happiness and many blessings!!

I hope you all had a great New Years Eve whatever you did-home with fam, out with friends/fam...whatever the case, wishing you the best! :) The 1920s party was awesome! Cant wait to upload photos! Couldn't imagine a better way to ring in 2010! :) (and ps.. the guac I made WAS edible-yeehaw!)
