Random product reviews

I'm still alive, despite my lack of bloggage the past week. I'm not even going to give you any excuses. I just need to get my head in the game and schedule some more posts already.. sheez. :)

In the meantime, I thought I'd post some random reviews of products I've tried recently. This is just for fun, not because anyone asked me, paid me, yada yada...

My friend, Beth, told me about the Rimmel Glam Eyes mascara. It's super affordable and really does extend my lashes...a lot! I've been a die hard Lancome user, but I'm digging this awesome little drugstore mascara. And it's very black...which I also like.

I mentioned this in a previous blog, but I finally tried the Garnier Anti-dark Circle roller. Some of you commented on how much you like this product and I couldn't agree with you more! I will definitely keep buying this. It works really well alone or, on days when my circles are really bad, it works well with concealer over it, too. :)

I also recently talked about tan towels. I got a few and thought I'd give em a shot. I know some people love these, but I didn't. It could have been user error (probably), but they didn't really do anything for me. And once I showered, the little color they gave me was gone. Unless someone has some insight about these, I probably won't purchase again.

My hair is really fine. I have a lot of it, but it's really fine. Daily teasing and hairspraying at the roots causes breakage, so I thought I'd give this backcomb in a bottle a try. I love the bigsexyhair products, so was worth a shot. I really like it! It's taken me a week or so to get the hang of it, but I'm glad I purchased. I just lift my hair at the roots where I would have originally teased it, spray the backcomb in a bottle towards the roots, and then let the hair fall over where I just sprayed. After repeating that for all areas I would have normally teased, I manipulate the hair with my fingers (I dont comb it again) and it really does add quite a bit of volume! And, if it starts falling flat, I can fluff my hair at the roots throughout the day and it stays much better! I said it's taken me a week to get the hang of it because it's easy to overspray and be left with a sticky mess. A little spray goes a long way. (I didn't mean for that to rhyme). Also, I purchased this on amazon for nearly half the price of Ulta.

Finally, I found this tutorial on pinterest last night and I think it's pretty useful! The article includes tips on contouring and other random beauty tricks :) Thoughts I'd share.

Tutorial from Today

What about you? Stumble on good beauty products or tutorials recently?

OOh and one more thing! Since I haven't blogged much, I didn't get to tell you about the fabulous dinner I had with Ashley from Ashley's Carnival Ride on Monday night! She was in town for training and we were able to connect and meet up for dinner. We had such a good time! Ashley is really sweet, so easy to talk to, and we hit it off as though we'd been friends for years. She also didn't judge me that I showed up post-workout, but then proceeded to order a glass of wine and pasta..haha...(I hope you don't mind that I stole your photo, Ashley!) :)

Hope you're having a good week, friends! And thank you for all your birthday wishes to Gracie dog last week!

I re-pinned that makeup tutorial from you! I am on the hunt for a good dry shampoo actually. I have super fine hair too so I need a good dry shampoo that can get me through the days I don't wash my hair. So fun you got to do a blogger meetup - come to Seattle!

My sister-in-law had recommended backcomb in a bottle also (she's a hairstylist). Looks like I need to pick some up!

I might get beat up for this, but I think BIG AND SEXY products are a joke. I've tried a few and they do absolutely nothing!

How fun you got to meet Ashley! :)

I was intersted in the tan towels too, glad to know they didn't work. I'll stick to my Jergens Natural Glow :)

I'm obssessed with Skin79's Blemish Balm. I ordered it off Amazon.com (seoulglamour was the seller), and it has changed my life for the better. No more foundation!

I've been digging the makeup brushes from Sigma and Coastal Scents. Way inexpensive, and same -- if not better quality -- than MAC.

I also love the Marilyn round brush. It's a nice addition to my Mason Pearson. Definitely inexpensive, too.
