Random self observations

First things first, thank you all for agreeing with me so wholeheartedly about the eye drop weirdo at the movie- I knew it was bizarre!

Second, I have made two recent observations.

1. I am completely...
via weheartit.com
Yup. I don't know if it's b/c I was guns blazing to launch that big project at work or that I have an awesome vacation approaching (but not approaching as quickly as I'd like). I don't know. But, I just feel so.. uninspired. I start a magazine, get bored and put it down. Start watching something on tv and same thing. Start cleaning, cooking, etc... You're getting the drift. Crossfit is awesome, but I've lacked motivation to even do that this week...not b/c I'm tired or lazy.. but I'm just kinda "eh" about everything I normally do for some reason. (As an aside, I dragged my arse to Crossfit today and reminded myself why skipping almost a week is NOT a good idea. Ouch).

I'm in a mood where I want to kinda shock my senses with something novel...

I want to go hiking. Or boating.

Or learn a new skill... like how to repel or rock climb or sail.

Just.... SOMETHING. Do you ever get like this?

*sigh* I'm sure I'll snap out of it.

2. Prepare yourselves for my randomness. I have diagnosed myself with exercise induced asthma. Laugh. It's okay, I did. B/c when I heard it in high school (when I was first diagnosed), I totally laughed. I was like "Everyone has exercise induced asthma. Thanks for playin'."

But, no matter how much better shape I get in, I have trouble getting breath in at many points of a hard workout...especially when running. And I don't mean I'm out of breath-that's a given-I mean I can't inhale deeply in any capacity. My legs could keep going but my lungs give me a big middle finger. I thought it was just crappy lung capacity I need to work on, but then a friend said she has EIA, too! I was like "wait, that's real?" And even has meds for it..that HELP. So, I started googling, and immediately called a doc. Tightness in lungs, not being able to take a deep breath even after the workout is over, pain in your lungs after workouts, coughing, wheezing. Whodathunkit? Obviously mine isn't bad enough to stop me, but it's just frustrating I guess. And I think mine's gotten more noticeable due to the intense allergy season right now.

So, whether it's lame or not, I'm having it checked out. Just thank WebMd. Either that or I have a lung disease that is only prevalent in 3rd world countries. <-- Totally being sarcastic. Don't you love it how the interwebs make you a hypochondriac sometimes? Yeah.

Despite my EIA (what the cool kids call it), I signed up for what looks like an awesome run in Tulsa-the Color Run.
via The Color Run
It's the first year in T-town (I think) and it's a fun run where participants get sprayed with various paint colors (safe and washable) at different mile markers. It's not about speed (thank gawd) but more about just having a good time. I'm totally jazzed!

So there you have it. I'm an uninspired asthmatic who willingly signed up to get blasted with paint colors in the June heat of T-town. Happy Thursday. :)

I have the SAME THING (the induced asthma bit) it's totally new for me (within the last year or so) I'm like how did this happen? I played soccer for years of my life and now all of a sudden I get asthma? I have an inhaler (albuterol) however you spell it to help the weezing. Scariest part is when I cough and cough because my throat is so inflamed.

I was diagnosed with something like that when I was little. I used to love swimming but when I tried to do it long distance my lungs couldn't hang. At that point I was told I just wasn't breathing properly in the water. But then it would happen again later in other sports they ended up giving me that diagnosis. I wonder if it is real or not.

First of all, can you make your comments to allow anonymous, because it's really a pain for me to sign in (lazy). Secondly, EIA is totally real, no need to downplay your symptoms or blame yourself. It has nothing to do with how good of shape you're in. Hopefully the meds will help.

I have totally felt like that before - and lately, been feeling kind of the same. It's the time of year I think - right before summer, vacations, and getting out to enjoy the good weather on the weekends! Hang in there. Also, I have asthma (EI) and I use a little inhaler that helps tremendously. I have noticed mine is worse around allergy season and I find myself wheezing!

I am doing the Color Run later this year in Sacramento- so exciting!!!

Hahaha!! I wonder if I have the same thing...and that's why I've been avoiding the gym so much lately. Hmm...

But YAY for the Color Run!!! Trust me....it is SO MUCH FUN!!! And that comes from someone that hates running.

I totally get the uninspirsed thing...happens to me all the time, I just feel BLAH! You'll snap out of it :)

Crazy about the EIA, no fun. Glad it isn't bad enough to make you want to quit Crossfit though :)

Oh I have totally been feeling uninspired lately too! I think a lot of it has to do with this time of year. We just got done with hibernating for winter and its not quite busy summer season yet - its just kind of blah.

First off, I am so with you on the lack of motivation....which is not good since I'm going to Costa Rica in 10 days and an no where near swimsuit ready! Second, my friend Sara is doing the COlor Run in Tulsa and I'm doing the one here in NM. So excited!

I feel ya on the uninspired thing...we had a big event at work and now that's it over, I'm sort of in a funk. Perhaps the lake/beach trips this summer will help??! I'm signed up for the Color Run as well- should be fun!

I want to do the color run in DC and NYC!! It looks like a blast (though I'm sure I'll be nothing like the girls in the pictures where they look so good with all the color and more like some sort of foreign clown...either way, I'll make it work;)

I keep hearing how fun the color run is, so I'm sure that will be a blast. I totally had never heard of that before but at least now you know it's something real!
