....and so I'm back... from outer space....
Sing it with me, ya'll..
Anyway, you think you were going through blogging withdrawl (thanks for the nice comments. made me feel kinda loved. :) ) I couldnt even access the INTERNET most of the week! How did I survive??!! haha.. I have lots of photos to upload and met some awesome people at my conference. I'll do that later... Some stuff for you, though..
* Wearing a Cubs tshirt on my way to Chicago last weekend wasnt a great idea. People kept asking me how the cubbies were doing and hi-fiving me. I had to actually find out info about the Cubs so I didnt sound retarded... Funny.. (all the while lugging a huge bag on the Chicago el system)
* Aaron and I hung in Chi town til I left for my conference (about 2 hrs south of Chicago) on Monday. Navy Pier-ed it up, watched some football, and went on a little night cruise on the lake through the city.. (I highly recommend the cruise) :)
* Driving in Chicago after I got the rental was awesome! I felt so.. "big city" Yeah, it was a bit stressful, but everyone is as A-type as I am when they drive! It's not NYC where people are rude... People are just in a hurry.. I actually took a pic while in traffic. You knew I would. I was excited, people.
* Seeing our corp headquarters and networking was pretty damn cool. Since I was the only Okie that went, I made friends with a great group of people from Florida. We had a blast together...even through the more boring lectures (thats what text msgs are for). I even got asked if I'd think about moving to Corp ever.. I mean.. what an opportunity....but uh.. it's really cold. (Like so cold I bought a coat this week up there)
* Got to even grab din din with Lauren last night while A was in class. We were both so tired, but a glass of wine and a girly dinner likely saved my sleepy/cranky mood. :)
* Got a new cell phone!!! Aaron used his prime negotiation skills.. Sprintastic.
Looking forward to celebrating Jenny's bacheloretteness tonight!! After dinner with the girls, I have to head to Jewel to help with a TU law reunion thing for a bit, so hopefully I'll run into Alove tonight too!! :))
Well, the Pepsi is the reason I'm perky. I think I need a nap. Love to my homies.

Addition to yesterday's post...
.... I still often google internationl volunteer organizations and decide to go... and look at other cities that I decide to move to on a whim. There's some city-data.com that has a forum.. It's great when you're bored and want to look at what people say... I agree with Carrie that the tears are over though.. They were so last year. I think my quarter life crisis climaxed and I'm over the hump, but hey, it's a long way down the hill to normalcy... ;)

B/c I'm in my 20s...Vol IV
I was going to write this all about the "quarter life crisis" that people have in their 20s. I changed my mind and opted to give a demonstration of what life was like when I was in the middle of a quarter life crisis last year.
Inside my mind on a daily basis during quarter-life-crisis mode:
*sitting at my desk at the office*
I think I should go to grad school.. yeah.. I'd be a great psychologist.. I mean.. I liked fu*ked up people...Yeah.. Wait, maybe I should MOVE somewhere cool AND go to grad school.. where should I go (commence researching)...What have I been DOING all this time? I should have been in grad school for this! (5 minutes pass) Hmmmm...maybe I should be a pharma sales person. I'd be so good at that. Yes! Who can I contact? I'll try that.. (contact someone) (5 more minutes pass)... OHMYEVERLOVINGGOD.. I have a law license.. I'm an atty? What? When did this happen? Does this mean I don't get a fall break? Shit.. Umm.. well.. I think I'll work internationally for a year.. Yeah.. I could teach school to little kids that dont speak English. I'm so patient sometimes. That would be GREAT! Plus, I could quit my job and leave this place for a year....
This was also supplemented with watching E! celebrity shows and thinking:
Why do these people make so much money? Why do I watch these people making so much money? I have an eff-ing law degree and I make no money. Eff this and Eff these people. (pause) Ooohh.. JLo looks good lately.... damnit.. I bet she doesn't have a friggin education and she still has a personal trainer.. Personal trainer? Maybe I could do that... Nah.. I'm too lazy...
Then, my manic of job-searching would end abruptly with:
Dammit.. I owe my first child in student loans for WHAT? For this? I'm going to be stuck in this forever. I officially shouldn't be in charge of planning my future. I suck.
Inevitably followed by tears I could never explain and then repeated the next day. It was really fun being my friend during that time. I just know it.

"There's about to be a-what-GIRL.FIGHHHT."
Things in randomville:
1. I've been having nightmares.. like extremely realistic ones. I keep dreaming about whatever I was doing before I fell asleep. In other words, my dream picks up there. It's quite freaky. I dont wanna type about the dreams, but they're creepy, people. In one, I thought I woke up and called for help, but I really didnt. It was SO. REAL. When I finally DID wake up, I was so confused as to whether I had called for help or what. YIKES!
2. Speaking of nightmares, that church is putting their halloween "nightmare" on again this year. Warning: soapbox here: I HATE THE NIGHTMARE. I think it's a horrible display trying to use religion in an attempt to scare teens into being good. Plus, is it really necessary to have an "abortion scene" in the house? No. I dont think so. Plus, I am bothered by the preaching that goes on outside the nightmare. I walked out as a 15 year old and was confronted by a church-goer asking me if I'd been saved. Okay, I was raised well. I politely said my church didn't believe in that and tried to leave. I was told I'd need to be saved or else I might go to hell. What on EARTH did that accomplish. Freedom of religion=great. Religion thrust on me at a haunted house-as a teen? Annoying. Finally, it's a lawsuit waiting to happen. I mean...they have live rats in there. LAW. SUIT. Whatever.
3. The Bachelor ROCKS MY WORLD. He actually speaks his mind...and is pretty damn funny! My favorites: he said the kiss wasn't good and wasn't well-timed (basically was like "WTF was that?"), he made fun of the web-toed girl...b/c she put her feet on the TABLE... ahh.. reality tv looking for love....
4. Brit Brit lost her babies today. Legally, I think she'll get them back. It's likely just b/c her license isnt good in CA and she cant drive them. Also, The Hills made me LOL tonight when Lauren said "I saw Lo's Britney" in reference to Lo's va-jay-jay......hahahahahahahaha... Outstanding!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, KEL!
Because it was Kel's bday... and b/c themed parties are decidedly more fun.. we went to the country bar...and we dressed up! Seriously an outstanding time!
I committed to riding the bull and I did it!
Some of the girls beforehand... (and no, I dont know why I have an glare/orb thing on my chest.. outstanding..) As Gary said "I think the afterlife was trying to come through your boob!" hahaha!
We nicknamed him "chip n dale" and "ponytail" but...uh.. regardless of what we named him, he liked Kel. a lot. especially her boots. Um. weird!
Glow necklaces, pink sheriff badges, and cowboy hats-what-what!!!

Friday night, went out to meet Dennis' girlfriend, Nikki, and have some dinner/drinks with them! Good times, people. Seriously... She's pretty awesome.. Not gonna lie...:) Buuuut...margaritas dont make for an early morning....
Somehow, I got my tail up Sat morning nice and early to volunteer at Child Safety Day!! The Pics: other company volunteers, the good neigh-bear that we gave out. :) It was pretty cute to watch the kids in the "bike rodeo" and getting free helmets, learning how to stop, drop and roll, etc.. Good times :)

Get fixed...
Anyway, watch Grey's? I cried.. when the girl blinked three times. I cried. I'm lame. Grey's didn't disappoint, though!! I dont want to like her sister. I dont know why. And.. breakup sex.. Good for them. Let the drama begin!
This is your dog. This is your dog on drugs.
Gracie is DOPED. UP. but she's recovering well. :) She cries a lot when she tries to jump on things and I dont get there fast enough to help her, though.. They gave me enough pain pills for 4 days. Whoa.
Picking her up yesterday:
Vet: She did so well. Just make sure she eats so she doesnt become sick.
Me: Okay (picking her up) "Gracie is such a brave dog.. Good girl..."
Vet: Um.. Yeah. She was brave. Just make sure she eats.
Me: Okay. Eats. Yes. "Good girl.. You're gonna get doggie ice cream when you feel better."
Anyway, did ya see Private Practice? Whatdya think? I like Addison, but I was so disappointed that they changed her friend. Her friend WAS a girl that had been on Alias in the pilot. Now, she's some unknown. Hmm.. Some of the dialogue was kinda..eh... like "Kicking ass and taking names is on my resume." What? Overall, I'll keep watching.. for now. I dvr-ed Dirty, Sexy, Money, but dont think I'll get into it.
Tonight-GREY'S!!!! They'd better pick up the pace. I think it'd be way funnier if Mere was a total bitch to her sister instead of the typical "oh, no, now what.. feel bad for me.. "

B/c I'm in my 20's... Volume III
So, I didn't do it last week, but for today..
I'm taking Glamour mag's "Hey, it's okay" list that I love to read and making it my own, adding some of theirs and some of mine :)
Soooo..
Hey, it's okay:
* to hide your dirty dishes when you have company instead of doing them. Whatever.
* to believe chivalry is an absolute necessity in a date/boyf, etc.
* to get one in every color
* to prefer E! news over cnn news.
* to fall asleep with your makeup on...on your sofa...at 9pm.
* if your stylist knows more about your love life than some of your friends
* to not to know exactly why you're crying
* to firmly believe that if you share it, it has no calories
* if your pet has three or more nicknames. And maybe even it's own song.
* to have a flash of self pity if no one says "God bless you" when you sneeze
* to change outfits 5 times, then put on the first one.
* to watch exercise tv while sipping a pepsi and eating hershey's kisses. (whatever)
* to get dressed up for work....without showering. Sometimes, it's just better to sleep in.
* to prefer heels over flats....and get annoyed when people question you about it.
* to zoom in on your camera to see how you look
* to prefer the more expensive toilet paper... for no apparent reason
* to put the bottle, jar, etc, back in the fridge b/c you can't open it. Sometimes it's just not worth the energy.
I could go on and on, but for the sake of getting some work done this morning, feel free to add more in comments. :)
PS.. Kind thoughts for little Gracie. She looked so sad this morning when I dropped her off...
PPS.. Please note that I added a new blog to "MY daily candy" called Charming, but Single. She's quite funny. :) Oh, and added my word of the day feed to the left as well! :) Love love!
