Eagerly anticipating pics from Jenny's wedding and kinda wishing I was also on a beach, Kel and I hit up her friend, Amy's, birthday party on Friday night at the Twisted Lizard. New bar. New people. AND a THEME! Black and white. :) Love it. I want more theme parties. They're just more fun. Period. :)

Anyhoo, it was a laid back night and was followed by another on Sat when Kelli and I went to dinner with some of her friends and some other new people, too. I spent the day with my mom shopping for her new house, then headed to din with Kel. One of the guys at dinner was from Ireland and was HILARIOUS. We were at Osaka...and the guy was twirling the utensil stuff when Irish guy said "This is like a lap dance....but with food!" hahahahahahaha!
Then, we (again wanting something different), went to karaoke! This is some of us attempting to sing spice girls. Yes. I am laughing, not singing...I dont know how much of the song we actually belted. haha! I pity my children if I ever sing to them. Really. Aaron can attest.
Then, Sunday, I thought "hey, I dont want to shower, put on makeup, or really do anything...so Ill take Grace to the park!" We had a good time but my GOSH everyone else was there.. Families taking pics, couples talking walks... It was crazy. This was Gracie's perpetual stance...tugging on the leash in sheer anticipation of jumping on some unexpecting park-lover. :)

All in all, I've kinda been in a funk lately. Blame my freakish bad luck with facial issues- stye, spider bite, whatever. Blame the colder weather. I dunno.. but I was officially kinda pout-tastic about something. Not sleeping well, headaches...the full nine. Sometime between Woodward and now, that started to fade into anticipation. I mean.. just look at how gorgeous fall is from the park today...

I went home, watched Gossip Girl (I dvr it. Don't make fun. It's a good show. Seriously.) I've been wanting a good book, so I hopped in the car and headed to Borders. I have a routine there. I always start at the photo books. Love them. Someday I shall buy lots and lots of them and stockpile them. Yes. Anyway, then I head over to the psych books. I like to browse them, but rarely buy. I mean.. books about recovery, psych disorders, counseling, etc make me sooo intrigued, but I have a hard time choosing so I move on. Ended up getting a book elsewhere that I've started before, but can't seem to find.
So, that's not the point.. I, donning a wrinkled tshirt, glasses, my fav but too-long-for-flip-flops jeans (but I wore flip flops anyway), headed to grab some tea and a muffin before checking out. I LOVE getting hot tea at the bookstore. It feels very "fall." I dunno. So, headed out, and somewhere over the waft of the hot mango tea and earlier darkfall than usual, I breathed in the slightly crisper fall air. It was...nice...not quite as annoying as I thought it was before... I started to get excited about things like the "lights on" at utica square, finding more nutcrackers (b/c I collect them in case you didnt know), having holiday gatherings and things with friends and family, etc... So, all in all, I guess I'm escaping the fall funk I get every year. I think I'm just resistant to change...esp when it means more cold and less sun. But, even though the people cuddling on the park bench made me want to barf today, I secretly missed Aaron more than ever and thought "I cant wait to go skating in Millenium Park with him when it gets cold.." I NEVER utter the phrase "I cant wait" and end it with "it gets cold"
So... hey...bring on the fall. At least for today. :)Oh..and to end on a less reflective note, I seriously almost bought the Gossip Girl books. I didn't. Whatever.
Oooooh..and along my new fall-liking jazz, B, B and Beyond has cinnamon scented pinecones. They're fab. I bought some. You should, too. Just sayin...
