Things I learned today

1. The sunroof switch looks like the dome light in my rental car. (think snow. highway. roof opening. me cursing)
2. People in Kansas drive really fast in bad weather in little cars. I think it's b/c Kansas is kinda dull and people have to make things exciting by risking death on the roads? Eh?
3. The dinners I CAME HERE FOR apparently get cancelled when legislators dont come thanks to bad weather. (seriously-been meeting with pac groups and coalitions and attending session, so it's not all a wash...but the dinners...yeah. whatever.a little aggravating.)
4. The rental car ice scraper is a piece of shit.
5. I need some dressy flat shoes for walking in ice while wearing suits b/c heels just made me look like I was a one woman show.
6. Coastal bars often have dollar bills on walls, ceilings, etc. This started b/c fishermen used to tack a dollar bill to wall on the way out b/c if they didnt catch anything, they could still come back and buy a beer. (Went to a beer with a coastal theme with dollar bills everywhere. We asked.)
7. The newspeople, ads for law firms, etc....all seem ridiculous in other cities...but seem perfectly normal in your home city. Like friends almost. Odd.
8. As much as I really dont have a serious opinion about breastfeeding that I'd be willing to defend in a fight (and am not trying to start a debate or anything), I feel for my co worker who has a baby in the NICU and is attending these meetings with me (to train me). She has to pump...and today she had to do it in a COAT closet in the hotel to get away and find somewhere with a plug. When we were at a restaurant, she had to do it in the bathroom...the ONLY bathroom...while she hacked off a girl waiting in line. Like she doesnt have enough stress with a baby in the NICU. Gawd. I just felt for her. We need more private areas for things like that. Just saying. It's the principle.
9. My computer has to "install a security certificate" so I have 3 min before it shuts down. YIKES. Hurrying....
10. I hate messy hotel rooms. I often make my bed and clean my own. This isnt something I learned....something I kinda already knew...haha... Whatever. I'm feeling the pressure of the clock.. Agh.. 2.5 min.....AGH...

Whatever, clock wins. I hope the weather in Tulsa or wherever you are is getting better and you're all safe!! It's brrrrr cold here, but I dont think it's anything dangerous....hopefully. Try to blog more after security install!

I feel for you having to drive with all of those crazies on the road. If I were the only person on the road at all, I would have no problem driving in bad weather. The problem is the other people driving like asses.

Monday on my way home from work I fish tailed on one of my neighborhood streets. Naturally, I thought to myself, I must slow down and I proceeded to go about 10. Slow, yes, but it was freaking icey. Then the jack-ass behind me sped up, passed me while flipping me off, and ran the stop sign in front of us. For real. Was that necessary? Really?

I feel for your NICU friend too. I've had a really AWESOME time trying to find a place to pump at work. Nobody wants to help. I think I will be in a small room in the back of the library. Other teachers put paper over their doors and pump under their desks, which I refuse to do having that the floors are grossly dirty and rarely cleaned. And as for the staff bathroom, men pee on the seats in there and probably the floor for that matter.

This was the longest comment ever.
