Hi peeps! So, this was a good weekend-a chill weekend. :)
Friday-NEW MOON! We got there an hour or more early (we already had tix) and we still had to stand in a line that made Kristy's husband nervous. haha..And it was FULL of tweens. Kristy's quote "Why does the line smell like high school gym class?" haha.. However, I did have a very sweet convo in the restroom line with a 10 year old girl who told me how excited she was for the movie and how her sister was taking her to see it, etc... *awwww*
Okay, so the concession story... We literally all went home from work, changed, and then met at the theater, so we hadn't eaten. Sara and I were STARVING and once we got our place in line, we headed to get some hot dogs. I think we may have given the concession teen worker a coronary. First of all, we paid for all our stuff...including an extra buck for Edward cups...and also made him actually go dig out some Edward cups b/c we refused to take Bella ones. Yes, we're in our mid-late 20s. Yeah. So, he already hated us...and then they ran out of hot dogs. They offered nachos and I was like "great!" Sara, not so much. So, the kid was pretty confused and really stressed and finally Sara made him promise he'd give us hot dogs when they got some more since she paid for them. (Note-we weren't rude at all. The guy was just seriously overwhelmed by all the mob at the counter, I think) The whole thing was hilarious. And as we left the mob line, Sara adds "Gawd, I need a xanax."
Fat kid Jackie is holding our nachos AND sour patch kids *under my arm* sooo.. I made us take a second shot...haha.. (ps these were taken at our place in LINE. nuts).
New Moon review: It was awesome. Duh. BUT, while most people didn't LOVE this book, I was okay with it b/c I'd been warned about the whole Edward being gone thing before I read it. Anyway, I was disappointed in some of the parts they changed and cut short...like the motorcycle rebuilding. I LOVED that part of the book and they didn't give it enough time in the movie. But, overall, the book was a TON of Bella's thoughts so they likely had issues portraying that in the movie and I was very pleased with the result. And I might see it again. Might. Definitely buying it. :) And if I hadn't read the books, I'd be team Jacob. I'll admit that.
Saturday, I had the BEST day with Maureen! We went to lunch at Queenies (one of my favs) and then proceeded to walk around Utica Sq, shop a little, chat, etc then headed to Target for some more shopping. We should have taken a photo! Arg. Well.. I did take ONE phone photo modeling a head lamp at Restoration Hardware, but it was meant to be funny..and it got me a couple bad looks from Prissy McPriss whining to her hubby and mom about wanting the leather sofa in the store and then huffing and pouting a little when apparently they said no (For reals). It was a head lamp. At Restoration Hardware. It was funny, prissy girl. But seriously.. we had a great day. :) I also got stuff to make Eric some good luck on the CPA treats! I stole these from Lauren at Dreams Take Flight! I substituted peanut m&ms b/c Eric loves em. Seriously, SO EASY and SO YUMMY! Thanks, Lauren for the fun idea!

I'm looking really forward to doing a thankful post later this week b/c there are so many reasons I feel so very blessed.... I hope you all had a great weekend and are looking forward to a fabulous holiday, shorter work week, and time with friends and/or family. :)

I feel the same way about New Moon. I liked the way they portrayed Bella's thought (via email). I thought it was creative and a good way to do it. I do love me some Edward and would not have wanted a Bella cup either. Did Sara ever get her hot dog?
Hey love thanks for your sweet comment, I appreciate the support and your thoughts! I hope your man's CPA goes well and how thoughtful of you to be there by his side through it all. Glad you liked New Moon - I got to see it this weekend and enjoyed it too. Ha ha, glad you all got Edward cups. Definitely on Team Jacob, ha ha at least for this book. They did do a great job with Bella's thoughts too. Hope you enjoy the short week! Yahoo!
You should set up a McLinky on Wednesday and we can all do thankful posts!
Sounds like a fabulous weekend ;)
Felt the same way about New Moon saw it tonight!
So funny, I just got some twilight woods stuff too...do you think the "twilight" portion of the name made us partial to it ;)
Your treats look delicious.
And I am soooo Team Jacob. I almost melted when he took of his shirt for the first time in the theater. Ahhhhh. Made my weekend.
Sooo thankful for 3-day work weeks!!!
i love fabulous nights that still have me in bed by 11!
What a fun weekend!! I'm going to try out those yummy looking treats!! : D
Sounds like a fun weekend! I'm glad you enjoyed New Moon, I have not gotten into the books or the movies. I might have to break down.
Hope you have a great week...Happy Thanksgiving!!
Sounds like a great weekend! I'm jealous of all the fun time you had with your girlfriends. All of my close friends are from different walks in my life and while they get along and do socialize together they have very different interests- some are stay at home types, some are party hards and I fall in the middle! How do you get your gf's to come together>
What a great weekend! I love that you got a girls night out with some Vino. Never hurts! OMG- your pics of you and your friends at the movies reminds me of when I go with the girls and pig out. Hello, we're at the movies!
Fun times! Glad to know that the movie is great (though I had a sneaking suspicion it totally would be!)
Have a fantabulous Monday doll!
It looks like SUCH a fun weekend! I'm so jealous you saw new moon!
You all are too dang cute. I am glad you enjoyed the movie. I myself would have been right behind you in the Nacho & Sour Patch Kids line. (But probably on my second helping :)
What? Is that sale still going????? New Moon was awesome and I am not one of the fellow readers, so I was disappointed when my boyfriend wasnt on screen as much as I like, but still a sexy movie regardless!!
First of all, I was just randomly wondering if you EVER take a bad picture? I think not! That sound like such a fabulous weekend! Girlfriend times are the best!!! I am extremely jealous of everyone's social life since I've moved, because I work so darn much and can't find time to make new friends! I so badly wish I could just get my girlfriends and spend some time with them, even if it is to just share a pizza and have some good laughs. Missed reading your blog :-)
Now, didn't you have have a fabulous weekend. Wow. Nothing beats girl time! Did you openly laugh at the whiny chick? I think I might've. Ah ha ha
LADY! i have missed you!!
work has been SO busy, blogging took a backseat.
glad you had such a great weekend hun!!
you look so cute in those pictures! i love your sweater! your little treats look delicious and sound so easy to make! although dangerous to have in arms reach ;)
We saw New Moon yeasterday and I liked it much better than the first one. For some reason Kristin Stewart bothers me so I had to get over that, but Jacob looked H-O-T so that made it a little easier.
Haha I love that you took pictures with all of your treats at the movies...I went to the midnight showing of Twilight but skipped on New Moon. I've heard that it's much better so I might make it to the theatre to see it after all! And I'm glad you made the pretzel chocolate things and they turned out good, they are my favorite!
Looks like you had a fabulous weekend! You are so brave to deal with that crowd to see New Moon! I'm dying to see it but just cannot deal with all the people (and by people I mean teenagers!). :)
I haven't seen New Moon yet and I'm dying to go! Hopefully I can go this weekend!
Those treats look yummy!
I *heart* Sour patch kids:)
Wondering if the BBW Twilight Woods is related to the movie/book at all? I am trying to find soemthing for my BF's 17 y/o sister for xmas.. on a time constraint here cuz were heading there this weekend 'with presents' supposedly.. and she loves Twilight and asked for perfume. Thinking this could be a good buy.. but ya.. thoughts?
O.k....so let me just insert myself into your group of friends plus the Edward cup...an absolute MUST! You always make me laugh! I just can't stand it, you are the best! I loved the movie! considering how long the book was, i think they did a pretty good job of getting everything in there...but we all know that it could never include all of the amazing details that stephenie meyer goes into! as for jacob... HOT...I swear my friends and i were "shhhing" the little girls in the beginning...by the end we were screaming with them... don't worry, they have no idea we are nearing 30!HAHAHA!
Those CPA treats look sooooo cute and so delicious, too !
Glad you had a great weekend! I loved New Moon too! My boyfriend was such a trooper (I dragged him along!!)
I LOVE Twilight Woods! I can't remember if I replied to your comment or not... I was at Starworld 20!!
