Tuesday Random...

Tuesday Thoughts... In random order...

1. I really want to do the Alcatraz swim. See those people?

...Yeah, I totally want to do that! Mind you, I'm terrified of darker bodies of water. (Like sheer panic attack. I think I've mentioned before. It's embarassing actually). And I'm also terrified of sharks. But, I'm a good swimmer... I used to swim in high school competitively. I LOVE swimming...and I LOVE challenges. Soooo there ya go. If I had a bucket list, this would be on it. It's actually the same weekish Eric and I MIGHT be thinking of being in the San Fran area... not like I looked it up or anything. Think I could get in shape, get over a completely paralyzing fear, and find a shark proof suit in time? haha!

2. Lately, I've been REALLY annoyed by non self sufficient actions from people. Not lots of details...but, I'll give you a hint. If you need to call a male friend to leave his house, come over, and set a mouse trap (like put cheese on it and set the wire) b/c "it's too hard" even with the instructions, you might fall in this category...haha...It's wire. And wood. With a spot for cheese. I'm just saying...

3. I had a really messed up dream last night about bamboo growing out of my skin. It was weird. I don't know what it means. And I don't want to.

4. I love my calendar on outlook that I get on my phone. Love it. I live by that calendar. It's rather creepy really. I've started to get excited when I get to put things on the calendar just b/c I KNOW I won't forget them that way. This is what happens when you get old, people. Today, I even set an appointment reminding me to grab my check book on the way to hip hop class. Yeah, I did.

5. I want a spray tan. Stat. Eric and I have a black tie thing this week. I think that's JUST the justification I've been needing to get mystic-ed. Maybe. What if I come out with cheetos hands again? Lordy, that was awkward. *picture it* "Yes, lovely to meet you, too" as I sheepishly extend my coffee-stained paw to shake their hand. *cringe* :)

Two of my co-workers did the Alcatraz swim a couple weeks ago! It meant for a lot of super early training mornings, though. Seems like an incredible goal.

I recently got my first spray tan and it went awry. I definitely had stained hands and feet (um, weird looking) and streaky legs from standing too close to the sprayers. YIKES. Careful, girly! ha.

Oooooh I want a calendar like that on my phone!

When I lived in San Francisco for a summer,I had a place overlooking Alcatraz and watched the swimmers, then made my way down to watch the rest of the triathalon.....it was AWESOME!! You should totally check it out!

I think the Alcatraz swim would be scary, but such an incredible experience! I say go for the spray tan! One of my friends went before her sorority formal, and it looked so natural!

I've always gotten spray tans for formal events~they look really good the first and second day and after that, it gets patchy. But I say it's still worth it!
OH and that Alcatraz swim looks awesome!

i used to sell mystic tan so i have a word of advice, that barrier cream WORKS! put it on the palms of your hand, in between your fingers, around your nails (both hands and feet, and i promise it wont look bad! i love a good spray tan!

I went to this great girl who does airbrush tans before our Mexico vacation last summer. SO much better than a mystic tan. Let me know if you want her information. It was about the same price as a mystic tan.

I desperately need to get spray tanned before an event I have tomorrow night ... but I'll probably end up being that girl with the blindingly white legs because I just don't know when I'm going to have time! :(

I did the Alcatraz swim a few years ago and LOVED it. It wasn't too hard or a swim and the mass number of people and boats help take away the deep water/shark fear! Go for it. You'll love it!

Skip the Mystic and go to Bahama Sun by Charleston's on Brookside and pay the extra like $5 to get airbrushed. Totally worth it.

That swim looks intense. I went to Alcatraz last year and even the boat ride was rough. Can't image being in the water!

you can TOTALLY swim the alcatraz... I believe in you! :)

I say go for it! Do the swim! That would awesome, maybe Eric could do it with you and that way you'd feel a little safer when it came to the sharks.

The spray tan scares me. I'm afraid I'd have a ross incident and look like I belonged in the Willy Wonka movie.

I think that Alcatraz swin sounds terrifying! But I could do it if I had a floaty! haha!

I have friends that do a spray tan caller Versa and it looks great whenever they do it - very natural!

I was a swimmer too! I would def do that swim if I was going to be out there.

Go for the mystic! just make sure to use lots of the lotion on your hands and feet. and wash your hands lots afterwards!

I can totally see you doing the Alcatraz swim!
I'm planing on getting a spray tan this week for the first time, and I'm quite scared of it! I don't want to turn orange!

I always think that people are CRAZY for doing those swims!!! Brrrrr.

Kristen said...

Instead of using a spray tan, you need to use JASON Selftanner, oh my gosh, it makes you have the perfect tan within a days time! And it's not orange at all, plus you don't have to breathe in those chemicals of the spray tan!

OMG, don't do it!!! Have you ever FELT that water? It's too freezing to get into here in SoCal, but the Pacific Ocean in San Francisco is FRIGID. When I was little, we'd beg my mum to let us wade in the water near the pier. She'd tell us it was too cold, but we'd peel our shoes and socks off anyway... and then go crying to mummy a few minutes later when our feet had turned blue! Seriously, if you can manage to get into that water and SWIM... well, you're a much braver person than I! ;-)

Do the swim! That would be awesome! I had a good experience with a spray tan...I would do it like 2 days before your event though just in case you need to scrub some areas haha!

PS-what a weird dream lol!
