"We're not gonna take it! No.. We're not gonna take it.."

Name the commercial... Yep, I switched birth controls (the commercial the song's from). TMI, but seriously.. as my friends, please tell me if the different hormone jazz makes me crazy. Thanks. Maybe dont tell me I'm crazy.. b/c I might hurt you...but ya know... Be polite and tell me I'm crazy. Awesome. Thanks.

So, updates.. after my battle with the gas company, I dont have heat tonight b/c I made the chick turn it off in June. They were charging me in JUNE for heat but insisted I didnt have a gas leak. Um. LIARS. So, I made them turn it off. Now I sit here with a little space heater and it's trucking right along. Ha! TAKE THAT GAS COMPANY BASTARDS.

So, the Hills.. did you totally swoon when Lauren and Brody were all cutesy and gonna watch a movie? Yes. I love them. I love them liking each other. Being "in like" is such an AWESOME feeling.. I actually "awwwww-ed" out loud. I did. Also, Lo saying "I like unfairly judging people..." or whatever....made me laugh my ass off.

Ahh.. Samantha Who didn't disappoint. Hooray!

Currently watching the Bachelor. I ff to see who he kicks off. Whatever. Although, I will say the balloon date was the most romantic setting EVER. I, the hopeless romantic, was totally in love with the white balloons. How friggin creative and pretty.... Ahhhh.... so mushy gushy I am right now. I dunno.

Oh, today at work, my bosses dressed up like ringmasters...and we had snakes, birds, alligators, etc, and a jungle joe guy.. Seriously. I love my job! hahaha! The law firm made me think "circus" sometimes, but this place actually had one! I love it! :)))

Blondes have more fun? Hope so. :)

1. I had my hair done on Sat. I stayed blonde. There's a part of me that just wants to say F**k it!!!! and go totally brown, but not yet. I felt like long, blonde hair didn't look super professional at the law office. So, maybe it's b/c I'm rebelling against winter.. or maybe it's b/c I like being blonde. Either way, I'm growin it and bleachin it until further notice. Thanks.

2. Things I find awesome about my job... People here have hobbies. REAL hobbies outside of work. I ran into a couple lawyers from the old office this weekend. Nice people, but really all they had to talk about was a case going on. I mean...it was good to chat, but it just made me realize how much life I could be missing out on. No thanks.

3. Maybe it's winter approaching.. Maybe it's the fact that it looks like Seattle outside.. I dunno. But, I have that whole "I wanna move" bug again. I like my job.. so it's not that. I like my friends here... All the traveling I've been doing lately has made me kinda think it'd be nice to experience somewhere new.. that's all. Hmm.. Not really looking or anything. But, maybe next year if the right opportunity presents... or if I make the right opportunity present..

4. I've decided Gracie will be featured in my Holiday cards. Get excited. They will be entertaining.

5. My living room has TWO suitcases, halfway unpacked. I have a box of opened pasta sitting on the kitchen cabinet (I like to eat raw pasta.. deal with it.. Aaron likes it, too). I havent actually put the toilet paper ON the roll, but keep using it. Gracie chewed up a toy. It's all over the floor. Yet, I made my bed this morning like "Ah... all clean." WHAT?! I need to get my ass in gear and get back in the gym. Lazy Jax.

6. Samantha Who is on tonight!! 8:30, abc. Did you watch the premier last week? It's damn funny, people. It opened with her mom filming her in a coma for an audition tape for Extreme Makeover Home Edition. lol! Also, is it weird that I'm excited about LC's date on The Hills tonight? (dont answer that. Thanks)

7. We're having a United Way thing at work today. Our theme is "clownin around" so the circus music is already playing. I dont find united way all that funny, but hey.. whatever. hahah. :) Makes for a fun Monday, I suppose.

8. I hear my VP is dressing up for the United Way theme. Ill let you know.. haha. :)

Ticky-tocky, ticky-tocky, OY! OY! OY!

I seriously love Oktoberfest!!!!! Watkins and I met up with Sarah, Andrew, Casey, Sara, Niels, Paige, etc, etc and took over a table. Three pitchers and lots of chicken dancing later, I was in a cab on my way home...only to have been in my pjs alllllll day (and love it!) I also ate a rice cake, a smoothie, and hersheys kisses for dinner. Dont judge me.

I think my favorite thing about the below photo is the guy in the lower left.. This dude later became Sarah's neighbor on the table. Please see the facebook photo of her looking scared as he kept chanting "AMERICA!" What?! haha!

Me to Sarah: "I have to find a mullet to take a photo with again this year!"

Sarah to Andrew: "We need to find a mullet."

Andrew (not asking questions): "I'm on it."

(* Yes, I got the mullet photo thanks to Sarah!!!**)

Thurs afternoon, Gracie and I set out for Mo for my meeting. This was pretty much her position unless she was on my lap.

Pretty park by my hotel. :) Fall means winter is coming... and therefore I get kinda bummy, overly-reflective and often want to run fast to the nearest beach. But, hey, the leaves turning are kinda pretty. I admit it. *sigh* I like fall. If only spring came right afterwards...
So, all in all, I'm not taking Gracie on another trip for awhile. She was fine, but I think I gave her doggie psychosis or something. She was disturbed in the hotel room and refused to eat (or pee) for like 24 hours.

On another note, Jonathan and I met up for a late lunch/early dinner. (Those of you who are going "WTF" please keep reading..) As awfully convenient as it sounds, he's moving to Tennessee and was driving through a town 20 minutes from where I was on the same day. Crazy! So, it was good to meet his mastiffs and catch up. :) Kinda funny that I spent so much time months ago worrying about "I cant post pics from ___ or ____" b/c I was worried about what "he" would think...whichever "he" it was b/c I was so busy figuring things out. It's nice to just say what I want to say and catchin up was good now that we're friends. :))

One thing I want to say is....watching Private Practice on abc.com was the most miserable experience EVER. It took me like an hour and a half to watch a 42 minute show b/c it kept freezing and being annoying. I was so pissed, but determined to watch the show even if it was Addison moving robotically and about 15 words off from the picture.

HALLOWEEEEEEEEEN is coming!!!!! You dressing up? Oktoberfest, Halloween and St. Patrick's Day... the best holidays. (Yes, they're ALL holidays, damnit) Speaking of holidays.... when did it get to be like 2 mos from Christmas?! WHAT?!

Go to hell, stormchasers

So, I got home to discover that Private Practice didnt record on time b/c of weather alerts. Wait.. rephrase.. it didnt record AT. ALL. b/c the weather alerts went on for AN HOUR STRAIGHT. NO COMMERCIALS. JUST storm chasing. Are you eff-ing kidding me? ARE YOU KIDDING ME?

Look, I'm pms-ing. I just want to watch some medical drama with uncomfortable sexual tension between the characters. Thank you, Tulsa weather for ruining that lovely experience.

OCTOBER SUPERPOST!

What I've been up to the past week, in (abbreviated) photo form... :)

- Chicago
- work conference (no photos, sorry)
- Chicago again
- Jenny's party Sat night
- Young Alum thing at Jewel
- Football game- GO TU!

So, I didnt post in forever.. This is what you get.. lol! :) I LOVE the above pic of the kids playing in the fountain in front of the skyline... Reasons I love Chicago... many many reasons....

On the walk home from Navy Pier, "senior pictures" kinda happened... a lot of them.. Here are a couple :)

First night there, we took a boat cruise of the city...As Aaron refers to me, I'm such a hopeful romantic (better than hopeless) :), so of course I loved it and highly recommend...

*insert me in awestruck gaze* "Look at how pretty!!"

Next visit=TBA, but this one flanking a work conference in IL was awesome...ILIA, A. ;)

Sarah, Lawson and I had to help at the young alum event for a bit, but managed to scarf down taco bueno in the car in time to take a pic with the group before heading to Jewel. :) The pose.. you know we had to take a pic of the pose... :)

Lawson, me, Sarah, Casey, Julie
Super cheesy AND in leggings...as if it could be better... haha! :)

The bacheloretting gang at Tin Dog :) HOT BRA... My fav was the tag that said "Perfect for __, ___, and frat parties." What? Who wears this at a frat party?
Yoga was a good idea... I dont know why
Jenny modeling the hot panties Sarah got her.... ( "Look, they make noise when you shake....") hahaha..
Some of the girls at the annual tailgate.
See Jenny. See Jenny leading the band. See band director (right) getting ready to go postal on Jenny. "GET OUT OF THE BAND!!!" Sorry, buddy.. it's an annual event. Might as well just get her a uniform. :)
Awesome. Enough said.

....and so I'm back... from outer space....

Sing it with me, ya'll..

Anyway, you think you were going through blogging withdrawl (thanks for the nice comments. made me feel kinda loved. :) ) I couldnt even access the INTERNET most of the week! How did I survive??!! haha.. I have lots of photos to upload and met some awesome people at my conference. I'll do that later... Some stuff for you, though..

* Wearing a Cubs tshirt on my way to Chicago last weekend wasnt a great idea. People kept asking me how the cubbies were doing and hi-fiving me. I had to actually find out info about the Cubs so I didnt sound retarded... Funny.. (all the while lugging a huge bag on the Chicago el system)
* Aaron and I hung in Chi town til I left for my conference (about 2 hrs south of Chicago) on Monday. Navy Pier-ed it up, watched some football, and went on a little night cruise on the lake through the city.. (I highly recommend the cruise) :)
* Driving in Chicago after I got the rental was awesome! I felt so.. "big city" Yeah, it was a bit stressful, but everyone is as A-type as I am when they drive! It's not NYC where people are rude... People are just in a hurry.. I actually took a pic while in traffic. You knew I would. I was excited, people.
* Seeing our corp headquarters and networking was pretty damn cool. Since I was the only Okie that went, I made friends with a great group of people from Florida. We had a blast together...even through the more boring lectures (thats what text msgs are for). I even got asked if I'd think about moving to Corp ever.. I mean.. what an opportunity....but uh.. it's really cold. (Like so cold I bought a coat this week up there)
* Got to even grab din din with Lauren last night while A was in class. We were both so tired, but a glass of wine and a girly dinner likely saved my sleepy/cranky mood. :)
* Got a new cell phone!!! Aaron used his prime negotiation skills.. Sprintastic.

Looking forward to celebrating Jenny's bacheloretteness tonight!! After dinner with the girls, I have to head to Jewel to help with a TU law reunion thing for a bit, so hopefully I'll run into Alove tonight too!! :))

Well, the Pepsi is the reason I'm perky. I think I need a nap. Love to my homies.

Addition to yesterday's post...

.... I still often google internationl volunteer organizations and decide to go... and look at other cities that I decide to move to on a whim. There's some city-data.com that has a forum.. It's great when you're bored and want to look at what people say... I agree with Carrie that the tears are over though.. They were so last year. I think my quarter life crisis climaxed and I'm over the hump, but hey, it's a long way down the hill to normalcy... ;)

B/c I'm in my 20s...Vol IV

I was going to write this all about the "quarter life crisis" that people have in their 20s. I changed my mind and opted to give a demonstration of what life was like when I was in the middle of a quarter life crisis last year.

Inside my mind on a daily basis during quarter-life-crisis mode:

*sitting at my desk at the office*
I think I should go to grad school.. yeah.. I'd be a great psychologist.. I mean.. I liked fu*ked up people...Yeah.. Wait, maybe I should MOVE somewhere cool AND go to grad school.. where should I go (commence researching)...What have I been DOING all this time? I should have been in grad school for this! (5 minutes pass) Hmmmm...maybe I should be a pharma sales person. I'd be so good at that. Yes! Who can I contact? I'll try that.. (contact someone) (5 more minutes pass)... OHMYEVERLOVINGGOD.. I have a law license.. I'm an atty? What? When did this happen? Does this mean I don't get a fall break? Shit.. Umm.. well.. I think I'll work internationally for a year.. Yeah.. I could teach school to little kids that dont speak English. I'm so patient sometimes. That would be GREAT! Plus, I could quit my job and leave this place for a year....

This was also supplemented with watching E! celebrity shows and thinking:

Why do these people make so much money? Why do I watch these people making so much money? I have an eff-ing law degree and I make no money. Eff this and Eff these people. (pause) Ooohh.. JLo looks good lately.... damnit.. I bet she doesn't have a friggin education and she still has a personal trainer.. Personal trainer? Maybe I could do that... Nah.. I'm too lazy...

Then, my manic of job-searching would end abruptly with:

Dammit.. I owe my first child in student loans for WHAT? For this? I'm going to be stuck in this forever. I officially shouldn't be in charge of planning my future. I suck.

Inevitably followed by tears I could never explain and then repeated the next day. It was really fun being my friend during that time. I just know it.

"There's about to be a-what-GIRL.FIGHHHT."

Things in randomville:

1. I've been having nightmares.. like extremely realistic ones. I keep dreaming about whatever I was doing before I fell asleep. In other words, my dream picks up there. It's quite freaky. I dont wanna type about the dreams, but they're creepy, people. In one, I thought I woke up and called for help, but I really didnt. It was SO. REAL. When I finally DID wake up, I was so confused as to whether I had called for help or what. YIKES!

2. Speaking of nightmares, that church is putting their halloween "nightmare" on again this year. Warning: soapbox here: I HATE THE NIGHTMARE. I think it's a horrible display trying to use religion in an attempt to scare teens into being good. Plus, is it really necessary to have an "abortion scene" in the house? No. I dont think so. Plus, I am bothered by the preaching that goes on outside the nightmare. I walked out as a 15 year old and was confronted by a church-goer asking me if I'd been saved. Okay, I was raised well. I politely said my church didn't believe in that and tried to leave. I was told I'd need to be saved or else I might go to hell. What on EARTH did that accomplish. Freedom of religion=great. Religion thrust on me at a haunted house-as a teen? Annoying. Finally, it's a lawsuit waiting to happen. I mean...they have live rats in there. LAW. SUIT. Whatever.

3. The Bachelor ROCKS MY WORLD. He actually speaks his mind...and is pretty damn funny! My favorites: he said the kiss wasn't good and wasn't well-timed (basically was like "WTF was that?"), he made fun of the web-toed girl...b/c she put her feet on the TABLE... ahh.. reality tv looking for love....

4. Brit Brit lost her babies today. Legally, I think she'll get them back. It's likely just b/c her license isnt good in CA and she cant drive them. Also, The Hills made me LOL tonight when Lauren said "I saw Lo's Britney" in reference to Lo's va-jay-jay......hahahahahahahaha... Outstanding!!!
