I justify. So what.
I strongly believe that taking the stairs to the vending machine on the second floor makes my snickers bar have less calories. That is all.

The heat is on...(duhnuhnuhnuhnuh...)
Hopefully, it's on anyway. So, as I was walking out this morning, my LL showed up with a heater repair dude. That's good and all, but I had a conf call at 9am so I couldnt stay. I mean.. I have nothing to hide..but the only child in me is like "weird people in my space..weird people in my space..." Plus, I look like an animal abuser b/c little G is in her crate and likely pawing at it pathetically while they're there. She has the "I'm pathetic and get no attention whatsoever" look down.
So, this is gonna sound weird.. but I really really want to have my hair pulled. I dont mean anything like THAT (you sickos), but do you know what I mean? I cant really explain it, but there's a proper way to do it.. like kinda grabbing at the roots all over for about 4-5 seconds... It's relaxing...Whatever, you think I'm nuts. It's alright. Not the first time.
So I wish everything made me as happy as my stylist does lately.. I went on Saturday and had some lowlights added..but not brown...more honey blonde..anyway, love it, love being blonde. I typically go darker this time of year, but dont think I will. So there. Hmph!
I think we should have a girls night where we meet, go look at Christmas lights (maybe at Rhema) then go grab a quick din din or something nearby. We could wear ugly Christmas sweaters. Takers? I'm serious.

C'mon baby light my fire...
Right. My pilot light keeps going out.. as in like 3 times per DAY. I dont know what to do.. I guess this is an issue for my LLs and not for the gas company, right? I have to go home at lunch today b/c little G will be so cold since it went out this morning (again). So. Annoying.
Had a totally scary encounter this weekend by my apts. I would write about it, but I really dont know who reads this. But, trust me, it was scary, people. If I dont blog for a couple days or something, please check on my status. Thanks. Being dramatic, but really...Maybe I should move somewhere safer...
Notes from the Underbelly returns tonight!!! Hooray hooray! My fav is the lawyer.. I forgot her name.. hmm....
I have a calendar on the wall in my office....It still reads "July" It's my personal goal to keep it up through Christmas. I find it funny. Whatever it takes, right?
Also, has anyone else tried to upload photos to facebook in the past..um.. 5 days...and had issues with their new uploader?

Santa packs are coming...Santa packs are coming...
For me, something always marks the official arrival of the holidays...Coca Cola Christmas cans!!! What-what! I dont even LIKE coke that much nor really buy it, but I always notice....

Also. my little baby Christmas tree! Its the first one I've had on my own. :) I'm such a grown up-gah. The secret is wrapping the lights within the branches.. (mark this down on things I learned from Martha Stewart.. please number it (1) ) :)

Oh, and saw the BEST holiday card:
Front: Oh! Oh! Oh!
Inside: Happy Holidays from Dyslexics Everywhere!
*Evil, mean, but I laughed. Sorry, but I did. A lot.

Thanks.
So, tomorrow, everyone will be filling their tummies with food. Today, I chose to list a few things I'm thankful for... but only a few...and in (VERY) random order...
I'm thankful...
1. I'm not a turkey.

2. For my fabulous new job this year
3. For my little dog who has changed my life, Gracie. :)
4. For elfyourself.com..haha...http://www.elfyourself.com/?id=9564853795 (I elfed Aaron, me and Gracie.)
5. For my mom...likely more than she knows. :)
6. For Aaron...for so many reasons, some which I could never put into words...and for direct flights to Chicago. ;)
7. For Blogger...that allows me to vent in a healthy manner versus internally exploding with frustration
8. For Aaron's fish (and now MY fish), Pablo, making it despite me forgetting to change his bowl-a lot.
9. For low rise jeans remaining in style. Seriously.
10. For my friends...Since I'm an only child, I truly consider you all part of my family. Thanks for celebrating with me, venting with me and listening when I needed it... and letting me do the same for you...
I could list a ton more things, but staying light-hearted and in the spirit of not boring you, there ya go. Have a fabulous Thanksgiving, everyone!!
* Also, would like to send a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Joy today!!! :)* Have a great day, girlie!!

Do something!
My Glamour is so inspirational...Lookie what else it gave me.. I picked the top 10 charitable things to do out of their list of 31:
1. Buy a holiday turkey for a family in Baton Rouge (home for Katrina evacuees) for 25 bucks at brfoodbank.org.
2. Support the troops with warm socks, deodorant, etc. Find their wish lists at anysoldier.com
3. Donate blankets to kids in homeless shelters: projectnight.org
4. vaccinate 50 people around the world (with just 50 bucks) from meningitis, polio, measles, etc.. on doctorswithoutborders.com
5. Provide a month of care for a woman or child rescued from sexual slavery for 30 dollars on sharedhope.com
6. Donate! Donate old glasses (neweyesfortheneedy.org), shoes (shareyoursoles.org)
7. Find projects in your zip code at dosomething.org
8. Mentor at at-risk teen at icouldbe.org
9. Send a DVD or video game to hospital-bound kids via childsplaycharity.org
10. Give to donorschoose.org. A small donation can help create a cozy reading area for an underfunded classroom.
Along the same lines of "doing something," WHAT WAS UP with the Bachelor last night?! Oh. My. God. He was my favorite Bachelor up til this point. I mean.. I didnt really like Deanna that much, but still...what was UP with that? I mean... No one asked him to propose...but to cut them BOTH loose... Lame. What was that whole "I cant look you in the eyes and tell you I love you." OUCH. I cant WAIT for the show tonight... (b/c I really AM that lame-whatever) ;)
Oh..and I saw a few of you noticed my cute purse Aaron got me! :)) That guy rocks my friggin world. :)
Is anyone else unmotivated this week? *le sigh*

B/c I'm in my 20s..on a TUESDAY.. What-what...
Somewhere after reading my Glamour magazine, deciding Marie Claire was utterly devoid of anything interesting, and attempting to avoid awkward conversation with the guy sitting in seat 19B, some deep thinking began. It was on my way back over a sea of tiny lights through irritation that I couldnt sleep due to Pepsi overload that I thought a lot about being in my 20s. I thought about fairness and about inexperience...about confusion and idealism. I basically decided one thing: I'm not invincible...anymore.
That sounds obvious. I mean.. of course I'm not invincible...nor have I ever been. But, for some reason, I feel as though that notion becomes more "real" in your 20s. I mean... I feel as though, when in our 20s, we realize we're really not untouchable.. We can get fired. We can lose a loved one. We can fail. We can have colossal heartbreak....all while giving everything we've got. It's not fair sometimes,. This isn't to say that I've never been through anything before I hit my 20s. My father passed away when I was 12 just to name one.... but I dont know if there's something about a certain level of maturity you hit in your 20s that says "This can happen to me?!" At the same time, you want to start hitting that "fake break" your parents hit when you started to learn to drive...
I guess I was just thinking about all this..and realizing those moments when you're not so "untouchable" and really aren't invincible...are the moments in your life...and especially in your 20s...when you build more character than you can stand-even when you'd rather not have a craptastic "character building experience." So, even though I'm not having one of those right now, just sayin...deep thinking next to the bald guy in 19B (who had my armrest) made for an interesting flight. Partially frustrated that things aren't always fair...or deserved...I'm still okay with not being invincible and seeing where that takes me.

Things that make you go hmmmmm....
Things that annoy me:
"Your account has been locked due to three failed attempts." It's not MY fault I cant remember all my passwords that the world makes me remember. Le sigh. So much for paying my cell phone bill...for another 20 minutes. Boo. I would be able to remember if Sprint hadnt gotten bought out by Nextel and therefore made me change my password to something I cannot remember. Whatever.
I woke up with my dog's rear end in my face this morning.
Apparently, it annoyed someone that I referenced someone I dont like on my blog...months ago. I was informed it was a bit rude. Whatever. She/he doesnt read the blog...and I didn't spell out his/her name or anything or identify him/her. Besides, it would likely be slander per se...in which the only defense is "truth." I believe what I said was true. Hmph. haha. Who cares.
I have a leetle hole in my chin still. Could be worse. I know. I understand it's not contagious anymore since it stopped having..um.. slight issues with puss. Gross? Again..try having it on your face.
My pilot light went out. Again. I tried. It wont light. I'm not incompetent, but that little metal thing makes me want to....well.. do something crazy. Arg!
My newest obsession(s):
The massage chairs at the gym. I could sit in there for hours. Friends agree. They are amazing. It's like having a massage therapist with like 6 hands...slightly robotic hands...but you get it.
Gossip Girl. Again, last night, sooo good.. I actually repeated the "XOXO...Gossip Girl" trademark lingo out loud. Geez.
Finding cool nutcrackers for the holidays.
My new eyeliner. Mac. In the pot. Use an angled brush. It's awesome.
Colored, dot, different sized magnets from Target. They're like 1.99 in a box. They're fun. They're cute. They're magnets, people! I have a mangetized wall in my office, so these shall hold photos and I shall take pictures of my photo wall o fun. Be jealous.
Well, I started this blog more than an hr ago and have gotten crazy busy since then, so happy reading. :)

In honor of Jon Bon....
HE'S COMING! HE'S COMING!!!! He's coming to OKC in April and, although I didnt get tix on opening day, I still want to go SOO badly!!! *sigh* Hopefully....
Here I am at the concert my 3rd year in law school.....Look how happy...Maybe it was the beer. I think it was Jon Bon. Whatever. :)

This was from the screen....a view of all the people who also LOVE JON BON!!! (of course)

I am SO euphoric right now.!! YES!

B/c I'm in my 20s...Volume 8
Bad habits that may or may not have anything to do with being in my 20s. Whatever-it's what I wanted to write about.
1. I tend to send emails in fits of frustration b/c I don't feel like verbally expressing myself.
If I get angry with you, you might get an email. lol! As Dennis said "If you have time to edit before sending, it's not that bad.. but sometimes.. Jax..." It takes the height of frustration to send emails.. or mulling over something for a long time. OR sometimes, I'm just lazy and dont want to call someone to have it out but I just want them to listen to my POV (point of view for those in the know. Thanks)
2. I still eat like a college student. Blame it on not having a family yet. I dunno. But, sometimes easy mac and cookie dough sounds like a good meal. Whatever. Dont judge me. I go to the gym more...It's worth the cookie dough.
3. I can't STAND getting oil changes. As in, I wait until I think my engine might be in trouble to get one. I know.. I know.. But, in my defense, I know nothing about engines, so I dont wait THAT long b/c to me, it's always about to blow.
4. I sometimes try on clothes in the morning for work and decide not to wear them. (Not clothes in general, but just the outfit. Going naked to work would be weird and rather Ally McBeal). The bad habit part comes in not re-hanging the clothes, but instead leaving them on the bed. When I go to sleep, I throw them on the hamper at the foot of my bed. This continues until I need to do laundry or get a burst of cleaning energy.
5. I chew ice. A lot. Doesnt matter where I am. I refrain in my office due to a certain former co-worker who drove everyone crazy doing it. I'm not sexually frustrated (I dont think) and I have minimal stress. I'm a cold-natured person.. I freeze in 60 degree weather... *sigh* Whatever. I dunno. My dentist says it's bad but as for now, my teeth are great and I chomp away. mm...Sonic ice...mm...:)
6. I watch A&E crime stories, etc, late at night then wonder why I cant sleep. I do this at least once per week. I also have weird dreams about snakes sometimes, but anything about unsual animal attacks, I've got the dvr running. It's interesting damnit.
7. I still tan. Not as much.. but still do it. I blame SAD (seasonal affective disorder). Actually, I wish I was the person who invented THAT b/c it's kinda lame.. even if it exists. Anyway, I know.. I know.. tanning is bad and I dont want to look like I'm 50 when I'm 30. I've cut back. But, being pale is just something I'm easing into, okay. Whatever.
8. I like odd numbers b/c of a hint of OCD. That is all.
That's all I've got today. I'm excited about PP returning tonight.. and.. and.. GOSSIP GIRL! Maybe watching teen dramas should be a bad habit, too. Whoa..what was I thinking.. Nevermind. :)

I stole from someone else..
I saw someone do this and I'm taking it b/c I like it:
Twenty songs that remind me of college for different reasons in random order:
1 Ride Wit Me- Nelly
2 You Dont Have to Call Me Darling- David Allen Coe
3 What's Your Fantasy?- Ludacris
4 Like A Prayer- Madonna
5 What I Like About You- The Romantics
6 Build Me Up Buttercup- The Foundations
7 Goodbye Earl- Dixie Chicks
8 P**** Control- Prince
9 Ditty- Paper Boy
10 Yellow- Coldplay...and really most other Coldplay, too.
11 Lose Yourself- Eminem
12 Anything by John Mayer or Dave Matthews
13 Complicated- Avril
14 Hot Sh*t- Country Grammar, Nelly
15 All Star- Smash Mouth
16 Drop It Like Its Hot- Lil Wayne
17 Baby I Got Your Money- Ol' Dirty Bastard
18 The Coyote Ugly Soundtrack
19 Margaritaville- Jimmy Buffet
20 What Would You Do- City High (b/c I HATED this song)
I could've kept going and going, but frankly, I have to get some work done and this is wasting time. But, I couldn't resist and I'd started today's first blog last night at home as a draft. So whatev.
Memories.... of dancing around the sorority house jamming to music blasting from someone's computer. Those were the days... *overly dramatic wistful sigh* lol!

I'm dating my DVR
So, I love my DVR.. Why? Well, it enabled me to go see the movie Fred Claus last night...and come home to watch the Bachelor, Samantha Who AND The Hills..all by 11pm. That's a lot of entertainment, people. So, thank you, DVR Gods. :)
Samantha Who is still pretty damn funny, albeit the memory stuff is a bit overdone sometimes. But, Christina rocks my world.. and her best friend.. ahh.. love the cynical, surface, insensitive lawyers on tv. (I also love the one in Notes from the Underbelly). I connect with them... Not really, but I like the world's view of female lawyers in that it's-only-comical-b/c-i-dont-practice-anymore kind of way. haha. :)

Anyway, Fred Claus was funny.. b/c Vince Vaughn is funny. Otherwise, it would have been a bit long. Plus, what's up with him starring in movies in Chicago? And with him being a slightly self centered ass til he turns a new leaf (The Break Up, anyone?). It was still pretty cute, though. :)
Hm.. in other news, the facial fungus is looking better so hopefully it will be healed by the time I head to Chicago this weekend. Did I mention that? I'm heading to Chicago this weekend. Aaron's bar results are released over the weekend. Lemme tell ya how I don't envy his pain right now and can totally relate...but as I'm sure he is, I'm ready for this to be over. I can't believe he's had to wait this long...Torture. Sheer torture.
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Below please see recent ACTUAL conversations:
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Last week:
me: I think I need to go back to the doctor about my chin. It's really not looking better.
him: ......*pause* -half disinterested-That's fair.
me: What?! That's fair? That doesnt even go with the statement.
him: No.. you should go to a doctor.
me: umm...okay *sigh*
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Yesterday:
Me: I am so tired of the writers strike! My shows better not go off the air!
him: What do you think the odds were for first time takers in Feb?
me: I dont know. 30 percent passed....54 percent for 1st timers, I think?
