Some of my conversations with Maureen inspire blogs. Just sayin.
This one....no exception.
We both decided-for some same-some different reasons-this time in our lives makes us kinda on "pause." It's like... I dont want to make a BAD decision, so I opt to make no decision at all sometimes. It's like I think "I'm just gonna wait here on pause for a little bit until things make more sense..." hahaha...I don't do it on everything...and the things I do it on make really little sense.
Friggin crazy. I'm fairly certain that I will wake up and think "Oooooh! That makes sense! Yes! I shall do that!" hahahaha.. I'll let you know how that works out for me...
In other news, I was certainly NOT on pause driving back from MO. I made a 6 hr trip in about 4hrs and 45 minutes. I wanted to get. home. Thankfully, the 5-0 (as Alove would say) left me alone.. haha! :) I had a mini dance party in my car.. yeah, really.. semi drivers think I'm crazy I bet.. From Miley Cyrus (yeah) to Walkin in Memphis to Kanye. I rocked the mazda rental... LOL!
Work trip-good, but quick. I had my "year end review." (We do them as to take effect in May). Anyhoo, it went super well!!!!!!!! I kinda wanted to do the cabbage patch when I was getting compliments on "how much responsibility I've taken over" and "how many compliments my boss got on hiring me." Dude. That was SO nice to hear!! (Tooting my own horn. I know-TOOOOOOOOOOOOT).
Saturday is the hair appt. WHATSHOULDIDO?! AGH! I like the hair long....but...I want something different...and skimming bangs would be cool but what if I hate them...and...and...and.. Again, I'm on pause. I better make a damn decision before I look like Rapunzel (sp?).

Cranky McCrankerson
Yeah, that's me.
1. My blow dryer stopped working this morning. STOPPED. WORKING. (It's sleeting outside btw). I yelled at it and beat it on the sink. That didnt help.
2. I packed my stuff, carried it to the car (since I was leaving town for work) and got drenched in sleet, etc.
3. I got here...and decided traveling in this isnt the smartest b/c snow is headed right up the highway I would be traveling and it's hitting my meeting location tonight/tomorrow.
4. I re-booked my hotel, rental car, etc for a Thursday meeting now so now I get to go back to mom's, pick up Gracie again (only to bring her back Wed), unpack only to re-pack...and basically cross my fingers on the weather.
5. After I did all these things, it stopped sleeting/snowing. AREYOUEFFINGKIDDINGME.
6. And my throat kinda hurts. That is all.
7. And I lost the back to my earring somewhere in my office. NOW that is all. Done.

I should wear a party hat every day
A Kelli visit, a girls night, a doggie birthday. That was my weekend. :)
Well...that and a chick with an inappropriate bustier/bra/madonna video shirt.... (please double click to see on that photo)

Gracie had a special hat which read "I'm one!" She loved it! Yes, that's what I told myself. She did, however, love the puppy cupcakes and pizza I got at the Dog Dish (in the Farm shopping center).
I must mention I woke up to the smell of my reed diffuser...and opened my eyes to see Gracie in front of my face, eagerly panting like "come on! Get up! GET UP!!!" After a few sniffs, I leapt from my bed to discover the overturned reed diffuser and Gracie suddenly looking guilty. Are you effing kidding me? She ATE air freshening oil? Hell. Thank God there was no puppy ER on her birthday, but really.. AIR FRESHENER? Lord.

This is her cracked out "GIVE ME THE DAMN CUPCAKE AND STOP SINGING TO ME" face...Double click it.. She really does look like she's about to have a doggie seizure.

She also got some toys...including a donkey with "2008" on it's side. Yes, it's a democratic dog toy. Whatever. But, lookie how much she loves it! AWWWWW!!! She IS her mom's dog... :)

We dog-parked it with Shelby and her pups, we played, we ate, we birthday-ed. I love this little dog... Gah.. :) My fav moment was when she picked up one of her new toys and jumped in bed to sleep with it.. She's such a friggin kid. :)
I think she also thought part of her bday was peeing somewhere I cant find...That's a fun game I get to play tonight. Boo..
Saw The Other Boelyn Girl. Glad. Good movie. I mean...it's history so it's predictable (I think that surprised some high schoolers in the movie...seriously), but I thought Natalie and Scarlett were seriously amazing in it...esp Natalie. Good casting for what could have been a stuffy period piece.
I'm tired. It shows. Look for more entertainment when I get some rest and clean the apt.

Stop the madness! ha!
Things that excite me to the verge of inappropriate.
1. I did it. I got online, went to a site, entered my information, and SIGNED UP FOR A CREDIT CARD! I'm a credit virgin in case you didnt know. Dont envy me; it's been SO problematic. I have my reasons why I havent had a card, but I held my head a little higher. I am now officially a slave to plastic. I am an AMERICAN! YES! ha! ;) (Seriously, I'm proud of myself here)
2. Lost almost made me pee myself out of excitement tonight. Desmond-WHAT?! George-WHAT?! The smart dude in the past/future? WHAT?! Yeah. Totally. You understand.
3. I did not work out last night. I actually slept on my sofa instead. However, tonight, I learned how to use the weight bar thing. Yeah, with real weights on it. I did squats. I dont know if I really did anything, but I held my head high as I walked outta that gym tonight. I'm practically a gladiator! ha!
4. Gracie turns ONE this weekend-Sat to be exact! There will be photos. You will not make fun of them...at least out loud to me. Thank you.
5. Aaron is DONE with the BAR EXAM! And the dude who he wrote about (below) didnt even SHOW UP today. Whatever. CONGRATS TO AARON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
6. I want to see The Other Boelyn Girl. Do you? Let's go. Now. Thank you.
7. After being tired after workouts, etc, I got a suggestion to eat more protein. My life has been forever changed. That is all I have to say. I claim this as the solution to life's problems. EAT MORE PROTEIN! At least it will confuse people if nothing else.....
8. Kelli's coming in town this weekend. We'll take photos. I'm charging the battery as we speak. Prepare yourself.
9. Also, I like the new readers I have! Thanks for the comments and I'll try to stay somewhat entertaining. :)))

Horny Geese on Hump Day
I hate you. Yes, you. The bird that sounds like it's getting ready to mate outside my window.. oh wait.. there are THREE of you. Fine, have some strange bird threesome and get outta my window space. Ugh.
In other news, why does this shit happen to me? What shit? I'll tell you. I am not the best at getting my mail.. I just leave it there for a couple days then pick it up. It's mostly ads anyway. Well, I think my mailman hates me. I have come home to my cox bill in the bush and am missing more mail than I could imagine lately. Case in point, my w2 from the law firm. I emailed them today and they said it was returned. Um. What? Well.. I think my mailman is playing a cruel joke on me b/c I dont pick up my precious ads more than a few times per week. That's a crime damnit. DELIVER MY MAIL. NOW.
Also, working out has become slightly addictive. Like I cant wait to go tonight. What is wrong with me? No little thing, that's for sure...

Conversation with my eye doctor's office
Me: "Hi! I need to order contacts."
Her: "Okay.. let me pull your file.. Did you order any last year?"
Me: "No. My appt was in July and since my Rx didnt change, I just used the ones I had left over from last time.."
Her: "Okay, so you didn't order any?"
Me: "No."
Her: "Okay, so that will be 120 dollars since you used your contacts allowance under insurance last year."
Me: "Okay, but I didn't order any."
Her: "Oh, right *laughs* Okay, let me run that through.."
Wow.
Also, my new personal favorite is the replacement for coffee/soda girl in the cafeteria. Picture Mr. T, but shorter and with just as much jewelry. He sings when he rings things up...seriously.
"Coke and a muffin...mmmmm...mmm...?"
Me: "Yes, thanks."
Him: "mm..mm..mm..2.17..."
Seriously.
Also, I got new eyeshadow. It's "mink." I serioulsy want to be THAT person.. the one who names makeup. Just in my purse alone I have "pink it over" and "a different grape" lip glosses. I want to be that guy. The one who sits there and says "umm...this is....this is....violet sunrise! YES!"

Countdown til the end of Feb.
I hate cardio. Like hate it. That's why I zumba. It makes me cardio. So, I went yesterday and just did weights...more precisely I did legs. After about a zillion (not really) lunges, my ass feels like I fell off a horse today. Then, like the smart chick I am, I did abs, too. So, I feel like I got in a fight...and lost.
Also, MAC. I use their makeup. I feel like it's too heavy... Not so much the foundation powder, but the eye, etc. Here's why.. it's not that it looks heavy when I'm going out. But, when I try to make it lighter for the daytime, it just looks like I slept in it from the night before. It's just not "fresh" looking. So, I'm taking suggestions...at least for eyes. Also, a good undereye concealer por favor. A friend suggested Aveda for eyes! This excites me! I think I shall try. :))
I believe your body tells you what it wants.. like chocolate for example. ha! But, seriously...my body said "I want milk" yesterday. I HATE milk even more than cardio. But, downed a glass like it was nothing. What?! Anyway...listening to my body at the grocery store. My Sunday pastime. (I also bought oreos. Whatever). Trying to eat better, though. I'll let you know how long it lasts.
Also..pretty sure I heard gunshots outside my apt last night. Why? Well, it was kinda "BAM....BAM BAM BAM".. (long pause..like long enough to make me think it wasnt gunfire) Then, police sirens. Jennifer and I are thinking of renting a house together. Neighborhood recommendations are welcome.
Finally...and most importantly...Aaron is taking the California bar exam tomorrow, Wed, and Thurs. Please think good thoughts.... Just for him.. His favorite quote:

Wahh...ooooh.. Play somethin country...
Sat was Blaze's official "bridal" bridal shower.... complete with some alum Kappas (Dave's mom's friends, etc) and nice china. Played some games, ate some lunch, opened some gifts. All in all, Blaze wore an adorable dress and the shower was a total hit. Plus, anywhere that the first person I meet is bringing me a mimosa is a pretty good time if you ask me.

It toooootally hit me the other day with my mom looking at Blaze's registry that shes. getting. married. My BFF is getting hitched. Like walking down the aisle. In a white dress. Holy. Shit. Like "Im looking at my best friend's wedding registry. WHOA." Then the freak out turned to total excitement. I began thinking gifts, speeches, etc...Blaze is getting MARRIED!!!!
Sat night, Jennifer and I went to Wild Horse! ha! We belted (and I mean BELTED) out college songs (Pu**y control, anyone?) and did the cha-cha slide. Yup. And you'll never guess who was in town and two-stepped with me!!!!!
......JACOB! He dragged some other Lamda Chis out there with him-Andy, Clint, Jason, Robby...

We had a blast! It's always a nice change of pace to head out there... Oh, forgot to mention the drag show Jennifer and I went to on Friday night! LOL! I love men in little dresses that have better legs than me.... ha! :)

Academy awards: I didnt pay a lick of attn other than Penelope Cruz and Jennifer Garner looked hot. Harrison Ford looked pretty damn good, too... as did George Clooney.. yum. Yeah, I said yum. Whatever.

Crashing on tropical islands sounds good right now...
Kat may be pregnant...but I'm having some effed up dreams, too. I dont even want to talk about the one last night. It was good, but man it was vivid and weird...
Also, please bow your heads to mourn the leaving of Coffee? girl in the cafeteria! YES! ha! No more "NO! It's soda...AGH!" frustration. *sigh* Today is her last day before she starts some sort of school program thing. Maybe they'll learn shapes then move on to harder things...like beverages. Gah.
Lost: OH. MY. GOD. Dont you remember the psychic telling Claire that her baby must not be raised by another?! OH. WOW. And..that Jack and Claire might be half bro and sis? Yeah. I think Jack feels responsible for her death (assuming she dies) or for leaving her behind..and cant see the kid. Also makes sense why Kate's raising it.. kinda like a piece of Jack. Hmmm....I love this show. Read Chris' blog for some good info on Miles. (my links toward the bottom).
