Random and Out of Order

So I was trying to set up my blog to post later and was quickly adding pics.. and realized in my somewhat distracted state, I uploaded pics out of order. haha.. Whatever. *shrug*

And first...a story you'll laugh at from today... Background: from losing my sh*t (blog post below) to Britney (a late night) to United W@y stuff to my first presentation at 7am tomorrow (nervous!) to allergies to a somewhat health scare (below post), I think I was just plain spent. So, guess what I did. I got home, came upstairs and, feeling like CUUUHRAP, opted to lay down for a bit. Woke up after a couple hours, decided to go to Target and to get some food and realized my rental car's lights were on. (remember I have the rental for while Im at the UW since I do so much driving). I thought "Oh no..." I got closer and realized... the car was RUNNING. I thought "oh no! I locked my keys in the car since I was so out of it!" I got even closer and realized... the doors were not locked. So yeah...the car was running. For hours. With the doors unlocked. Good job, Jax. Goooood job. *shaking head at myself and considering myself EXTREMELY lucky!*

Okay, so... out of order randomness...

After I finished with the Day of C@ring last Friday, I took little G money to the doggie park!! A stupid nice man gave her a treat. I don't advise giving ONE dog a treat in a park full of dogs. My little pup made NO friends, but instead proceeded to growl at every dog who came close to her and her special treat. It got so bad, I picked up the treat and then had about 10 dogs around me....The whole thing was likely funny to watch, I think. I opted to take her home rather than give away her treat b/c I knew she really wanted it (yes, she's spoiled. I know). However, we got in the car.. and notice how interested in the treat she became. Not.at.all. She's such an only child. haha.. wow. Advice: when a dude offers your dog a treat at the dog park, say no. :)
After the pup park, came back and met Sara at Oscar's for a bday happy hr for one of our friends.. Our friend, Tadd, just got a little bulldog and brought him up!! He named him Hef. How adorable is he?! :)
Okay, so during the actual Day of C@ring earlier Friday, I traveled to lots of companies' volunteer projects and snapped photos, thanked them for their help, etc.. One of my companies was assigned to the same place as Eric's group so I got to visit for a bit! They were painting. Obviously.
I have no idea...*laughing*
This was about 6:15 am last Friday morning. We look like we're picketing! (We were told that a couple times, too). It's supposed to say "Give.Advocate.Volunteer. Live Un!ted." It was 6am. Don't blame us for getting the signs out of order. haha... These are some other loaned execs btw!
Kicking off the campaign in the Reynolds Cnter at TU!! :)
They were giving away the sunflower centerpieces so all week I've had some happy sunflowers on my table at home! Love it! I love little casual flowers. Kinda forgot to buy gerber daisies this summer.. I usually pick some up or the house off and on when I see em. :)
Okay, the pics below is from Mon night's Thank You event for Eric's job. It was a party to thank their employees for giving to the UW! :) Eric's involved in his company's campaign so kinda fun that I got to go as his "plus one" but also as a liaison for the UW (hence the black UW polo I was rocking). We're a philanthropic couple.. er..or something.. haha.. ;)
Left there and headed out to my friend, Kristy's, for a Gossip Girl season premiere party...complete with cosmos! Love these girlies! We were all happy to welcome Chuck Bass into our lives.
And in hopes you're still hanging with this completely random blog (sorry!), while I was half awake at Target this evening, lookie what I picked up for UNDER 30 bucks! How cute is this handbag?! I am so in love with my pink coral coach one Eric got me for my bday, but it's officially almost fall and the pink coral isn't going well with some of the fall colors. *sigh* Don't think the pink coral is going away til spring though.. Oh no.. It will come back out with some black attire and add a "pop" with some winter stuff. :) (and I also may have an intention of stopping in the coach outlet when in Dallas in a month and a half..haha..) ;)
Alright, I have my very first presentation on my own tomorrow morning at 7am for about 50 people. I have to introduce a guest speaker, show a video, talk about what we do, answer questions.. agh! Gotta go prep, peeps! Wish me luck-I'm actually quite nervous!

Hope you have a great weekend planned! I also hope your weekend plans involve rooting for your fav football team! We're going down to the TU game in Norman! :)

All Eyes On Me In The Center Of The Ring Just Like A..

....Cirrrrcus!!!!

Okay, first... You guys rock! Thanks for empathizing, offering thoughts/prayers, personal experience, etc from my last post. :) It's posts like that when I kinda say "see..this is definitely why I blog" from ya'll's comments. I sometimes have this mental image of some internet group hug or something with posts like that.. on mine or on others.. and I love it. :)

Second, BRITNEY pics are downloaded!! I went to Sarah's work today and we traded photos so... we were close and even on the floor at one point, but know she also has a reallllly good lens. A friend hooked us up with bracelets to go down to the floor for a bit and lemme tell you.. um.. awesome! I'm so sorry in advance for the ridic amount of pics... I'll keep text limited...

We all met at El Guapo's downtown and made a random man take our photo after dinner... Thank you, random man.
...then we jammed out in the car on the way to Britney!
The shirts we made!
...and we had song titles on the back! Mine? Toxic, baby! haha!
This guitar made its way into a lot of pics.. Timberly and me! Love her!
Me and Sarah, the fab organizer of our shirts and tickets!
Julie got boy shorts.. haha.. love it!
Our seats were AWESOME!!
I think they had the clock running like this to countdown the circus just to hear girls shriek when it got down to 10..9...8... haha..
Perez video kicked it off!
And here's the concert.. in order! She sang a LOT..including an awesome cover of Alanis' You Oughta Know..

Sarah and I had wandered to the floor at this point...

Here she comes! Here she comes!! (Yes, I think I really exclaimed that out loud)

OMG she's RIGHT THERE! (that's what this pic was supposed to be saying...haha)

I.love.this.photo. Thank you, Sarah, for your zoom lens.

I dont know if seeing her sweat was awesome or gross.. I'm going with awesome.
Last song just finished!
Take a bow, Brit. You rocked it!
So tired, peeps! I need to catch up on sleep too b/c I have a presentation early EARLY Friday morning and need to break this midnight habit I've got going on... Sheesh. I get off work a leetle later at the UW so my evening's personal time gets pushed later...and that also seems to adjust my bedtime. *lips pursed to one side in "hmm.." face*

No WBW today b/c of Brit Brit but I'll make it up next week for sure! Hope everyone had a great day! I'm so tired of the rain here, but glad it stayed away last night so we didn't get drenched walking to the concert. :)

Have a fabulous Thursday!

Brit pics coming soon...a PSA til then.

Hi everyone! Britney.was.awesome. All of you who commented and told me how fabutastic she would be were SOOOO right!!!! And I'll explain later, but I ended up getting FLOOR passes!!!!!! Sarah's camera is all high tech and way better so I'm going to steal her pics when I head out to run some errands for the UW in a bit!

This is more of a PSA to all my blogger friends... for reals. I got a call from my OBGYN this morning.. weird, right? Yes. Soo.. she said "I've been trying to reach you...I had the wrong number." I was like "oooh.. sorry.." She said "Look, your results came back.. and there's some precancerous cells on your cervix we're going to need to remove." My smile dropped and I was silent for like 3 seconds til she said "Dont worry. It's mild cervial dysplasia-there's three stages and yours is the lowest. We're just gonna go in and get rid of the problem, biopsy it and let you know." So... I'm going in first part of October. Sheesh. I did some internet research and it looks like mild dysplasia is pretty common...well...more common than some things, that is. My friend I went to lunch with has even had the same thing removed and everything is a-ok with her. So, that helped make me feel better. And I guess mine is the type that can turn into cancer in 10-15 years...or not at all... but they just want to get rid of it b/c the incidence is MUCH higher for cervical cancer when it goes untreated. And if it moves from the mild stage, that's an issue, too.

So, I'm not freaked as much anymore (admittedly still a little freaked)... esp since it seems pretty common. I've just never had anything come back abnormal like that! I guess it's prevalent in women ages 25-35. So...here is my PSA to you. GO get your yearly. I always thought it was silly to have to go every single year when I'm not even trying to get prego or anything like that. With some of my best friends trying to have babies and having some slight issues, I was kinda alerted to how important it really is to pay attention to your female parts. And my phone call today just furthers that in my mind. Had I not gone, I'd have no idea.

Anyway...that's my public service announcement for the day. Take care of yourselves, peeps.

Britney pics later!!!! :)

Venting...and BRITNEY!

Hello bloggers. I have venting ahead....

Have you ever lost.your.sh*t? I mean... you started out with a good, solid point in mind and then by the time you were done, you were like "whoa. what happened? oops." Yeah. That may or may not have happened to me. OR have you ever talked your way in one big upset circle and finally spat out the root of your upsetness at the end of your girly, emotional diatribe? Yeah. Then, you're like "oh.. yes! lookie! I finally said what I was really upset about!" and it kinda even shocks you about how clear you just were (granted, the clarity only arrived after 15 minutes of emotional muck that no sane person could decipher). That happened too.

I really hate the way you feel the next day... the way you feel after you kinda went batsh*t crazy like one of those girls from Flavor of Love or something. The issue itself is totally sensical...and I'm a firm believer that having a leetle bit of a batsh*t crazy moment once in awhile can be okay. Mind you, I'm usually a calm individual, but on those really off times something really gets under my skin, once it's there, it's not easily removed...even if I focus really hard on it. haha.. Then, trigger...and wham.. crazytown usa. *sigh*

I wish this blog was anonymous so I could completely give every tiny detail, but then again, prolly a bad idea anyway... haha... Anyhoo... if you've ever done that, feel free to comment so I don't feel crazy. Thanks.

Oh and... BRITNEY.IS.MERE.HOURS.AWAY!!!!! And you're getting a glimpse at the shirts we made! Mine says "toxic" on the back! hah! Original plan was to wear with little black shorts. However, with the weather dropping a few (or 20) degrees for some reason, jeans might have to happen. I'm still contemplating rocking the shorts!
Have a great day!! I'll be getting home late tonight so anticipate a Brit post tomorrow!! XOXO!

Weekend Recap...in mostly pictures!

Okay, I took a LOT of pics this weekend... and I'm also pretty wiped out so I'm gonna just blog from Saturday forward and get Friday's (awesome) Day of C@ring, etc tomorrow night. :)

Saturday was Brooke's baby shower! (I tried to tag everyone with blogs who attended at least once in this post.) :) I don't know if it was the rain... or the bootcamp that morning (more on that later) but I was in a FOUL mood until I got to see these girlies at the shower. Have you ever just been funktastic and can't.get.out.of.it. that day? Anyway, a glass of wine in hand, chatting with friends, and mood was drastically improved!

Check out this cake! Brooke hearts giraffes so Jenny found an awesome place here in T town to make this fabulous cake!
One thing about my fabulous friends... we like to eat. :)
Ashley MADE THESE!!! How adorable, right?! (And uh.. they were amazing, too... mmmmm...)
A few of us surprised Brooke with this guy for the Baby's room!
Some of the girlies :)
I like safari/animal themes b/c I can growl in photos. And I like Ashley b/c she will join me. haha! :) (although she looks cute and I look crazy.. but whatever.. I like it. :))
I heart this photo of Melissa and Sarah and I love it when these girls come in town. :)
Let the gift opening begin! Look at the little giraffe burp cloth! (Other things I find humorous.. Ashley was writing down the gifts and I was sitting by her.. aka the two chicks w/o babies. There were times where we both were like "What was that?" "I dont know.... *nervous*" haha)
This was from Sarah, Ashley, Sarah and me! It was a joke that it was wrapped in like three different things..including Chrismas paper. Just go with it... haha!
Angela, Melissa, Audra, Sarah and Kristen :)
And...the gift opening drew to a close...except one more... Each hostess (Sarah, Kat, and Jenny) had a gift remaining from Brooke...and a set order to open them in. So, one by one, they were opened... and revealed Baby Knight's name for the first time.... PARKER!!!!!! What a cute idea, right?! I loved being in on the big name reveal!
So excited for you, Brooke, Paul and PARKER!!! I promise to get these on facebook asap! :)
After the shower, headed to the official TU watch party. I'd never been to the bar on the fairgrounds (it's new) but lookie how many TU fans! It was so fun!
Audra and Kat used to work at the fairgrounds in college-a marketing internship-and they stay in touch with their boss. Once he found out we were there, he used a pic she'd sent him from her wedding on the cover of the tip sheet for the night's races! (It's also home of the horse racetrack). That means... for the small price of three dollars, you too could've owned a pic of Jackie and Audra...along with some horse picks! haha! We thought it was hilarious.
Eric's dad got there early enough to grab a table-thank gosh b/c there wasn't another one to be had in the whole place.
My mom came with some of her friends to cheer on TU, too!
This cracks me up... Eric and his dad opted to bet on some horses while we were there. Check them out simultaneously watching the race...
I'll get the rest of the pics up soon! Tomorrow night, have a UWay event with Eric for his work and then it's the GOSSIP GIRL PREMIERE!! I 'm so excited!! But I have to admit, it's overshadowed by other awesomeness like.. .BRITNEY on Tuesday!!! I will try to do a devotional post to Brit Brit.

People, I am SO.SORE. Blaze will likely agree with me on her end, too. Her husband is a trainer and is starting a boot camp, so we opted to go on Saturday morning. Oh.my.gawd. I used muscles I didn't know I had.. and then used them again.. and again. Today, I've been lowering myself onto everyday things like.. oh.. the toilet (tmi, but it's true), my car... Agh! I find myself awkwardly laughing b/c stairs are like little torture devices right now. Abs. Butt. Legs. Back. Arms. Sore! But, it's a "good sore" ya know... Eric finds the whole thing incredibly entertaining.. haha.. I think he said I sounded like those peeps on the Biggest Loser after their first workout.. which was true and hilarious! No laughing....it hurts my abs...*silent giggle* But, it's really good and I'm gonna try to get my bootie back there regularly. Kinda hard with my work schedule right now, but gonna do my best! If you wanna come, let me know. I'll tell you one thing...I will definitely be doing this before bikini season next year. *affirmative nod*

Today, I went on the hunt for shoes. Shoes. shoes SHOES. I found lots of strappies. But uh.. it's getting cold soon, so that didn't work. I want some cute black flats and some fun heels.. like leopard or something. I wear a lot of jeans and black so some fun heels would be cool for winter. Advice welcomed.

And somewhere in the midst of not finding the shoes I wanted, I had a craving.. rather a NEED for jamba juice. I literally stopped what I was doing and went directly to jamba (afraid they closed early on Sundays. They don't.). Picked up one for Eric, too. Please check out my embarrassingly obese fruit smoothie compared to Eric's requested medium. *bows head in shame* I don't think it's healthy when you get it in bucket size... haha.. Whatever. It was good. Every.last.sip.
Hope you had a great weekend! Was anyone else in a bit of a funk at all this weekend or was it just me? I thankfully shook out of it, but still. Night peeps! I need to hit the hay so my poor sore body can recover appropriately enough to shake my @ss at Brit Brit on Tuesday! ;)

Tonight I watched the VMAs...and like the rest of America watching, was disgusted by K@nye (what an @sshole), have a new respect for Bey0nce, and LOVE LOVE LOVED the Twilight thing for New Moon! *happy sigh*

Scarf Swap!

When I was done blogging with the below entry, I started seeing what everyone else in blog world was up to and saw this awesome idea from Katie at Loves of Life! It's a scarf swap! Fall is approaching and if you ask me, you can totally transform an outfit with an awesome scarf...plus stay warmer, so I was in before I'd even read the details! :) Plus, I don't know about you, but getting fun mail makes my day.

Go see the details and join the swap if you're interested! :)
Join the fun

Obviously having issues with this "in bed by 10" commitment I made below. haha...

A Friday snippet

I MUST be in bed by 10pm so I'm just reading you're blogs and hitting the hay! Tomorrow, I'll be up SUPER early for the kickoff of the D@y of Caring.. earlier than I care to even comment about.. haha.. I'm actually pretty pumped! While a lot of companies are winding their campaigns down (some started early) most are officially kicking off tomorrow!! That means my job will kick into high gear til we've raised our goal! :) And ps.. I picked up my FIRST completed campaign packet yesterday! Hooray!

I had someone actually say "What's the D@y of Caring? Sounds like something cheesy.." I think I was a leeeetle defensive (accidentally) when I responded "Well, it's actually a day where the community kicks off campaigns for the UW, gives back by volunteering, etc. Lots of companies take on projects at one of our 63 partner agencies throughout the city to make it better-from street school to nature trails to senior living centers. Oh and we have the largest one in the nation, so it's not cheesy." *nervous* Maaaybe I need to chill a leetle. haha...
OH.EM.GEE. Guess who got offered free Brit tix today?!! I'm so happy I purchased a secure (awesome) seat for the show, but sheesh...free is also fun. Just sayin. I didn't take em, but instead hooked up some friends! And besides.. my group made shirts! Without our whole group, my shirt would be lonely. ;) (It's a super cute shirt, too! I don't wanna post it yet though!)

Thank you SO much about the birth control pill feedback, peeps! And good idea on the etsy, etc for collegiate sporting wear!!! If I wasn't getting to bed in *glances at clock* 49 minutes, I would go play online at etsy... :)

I hope you have a fabulous Friday. It's hard to believe it's been so many years since Nine Eleven but I like it that D@y of Caring falls on it tomorrow... seems appropriate, ya know to be giving back to the community. Anyway, I hope you have a great weekend in store! Some football watching and baby showering are in my plans...and maybe boot camp if it doesn't rain! That's right-BOOT CAMP! Wanna come? It's the first one!

Have a great weekend!!!
