My Monday was pretty good, but long. Just some of what we're doing right now leading up to the D@y of Caring (formal kickoff) is delivering campaign packets to the local companies..b/c some want to get started now..and that way we already have quite a few rolling already. a LOT actually. Here are just a few...like 6 or more per bag (one per company including pledge cards, etc). These bags are everywhere and packed full! Then, once I get a hold of someone at that company who is running their campaign, I set up a time to deliver the packet and have a personal meeting.

Today, I called prooooobably too many companies to count. My personal fav was the "Ma'am, are you aware we're in bankruptcy?" (it's a given, people.. you know who I'm talking about.). I said "Yes! I just wanted to give you the chance to donate like other local companies should your employees desire to..." I ended up getting a meeting with him, but man alive..that's about how my morning went. *sigh* It.was.tough. Call after call..attempting to start each one with a fresh smile and perspective. But, I after lunch, almost every call was positive and really enthusiastic about the campaign so that helped! Picking up queenies for lunch (an awesome local deli) also helped. I ended up getting meetings for the bulk of the next couple days!! Hooray!! :)
Side note: I'm still getting used to my schedule n stuff, but if you work downtownish and want to grab lunch, lemme know b/c I'd love to in the next few weeks! I'm not used to being in that area for lunch! :)
So, have you ever had a day where you dressed for work and thought "day-yum.. this is a good combo!" and been really proud of yourself? haha! I had one of those days.. Banana dress. Cute belt. Button down under the dress. Cute necklace. And ballet flats. I was impressed with myself. Come on.. tell me you do this in your head sometimes too. (??) :) I'm usually too half asleep to think about adding a cute belt to a dress, etc.. but this whole laying clothes out the night before is really working wonders for my style.. just sayin. ;)
Speaking of nighttime, as Gracie and I headed to bed last night, she looked at me..and I looked at her...and said "aw crap" when we realized my comforter was still.in.my.car. (No, my dog didnt talk, but yes, I think she understood me). Arg!! haha! I'd taken it to be cleaned and forgotten to get it out of the car. And I'm not a fan of fumbling with a large item in the dark and my keys in my pjs.. soo..in the car it was going to stay. I ended up waking up wrapped bizarrely in my sheet, a chenille throw and a winter blanket I'd retrieved from the closet shelf around 3amish when I stumbled to the hallway sleepily and freezing. Good gosh.
This is random. Sorry. Staying with that theme.. did you know Wolfgang P*ck's place is coming to TULSA?!!!!! Apparently I need to watch the news more. For real. How awesome is that?! (For those of you not in Tulsa, you'd be surprised to know we're actually a test market for a lot of companies..for reals.. I promise I'm not blowing smoke here.. haha). There's a new wrinkle for your brain or something. :) On that note, Harrison Ford's son opened a restaurant here a couple years ago. It failed. But, whatever. It was here.
Okay, blog friends, I need your help here!! I want to cook Eric breakfast on Sunday morning (aka his bday!) He knows about this so there's no surprise ruined if he reads this post. That said, I want it to be good!! And I don't cook breakfast that frequently..b/c well.. a cereal bar is easier than anything else when you live with your dog. *shrug* So, here we go. Help needed! Tips! Advice? Thoughts? Recipes? I want it to be fairly simple: eggs, bacon, yada yada.. What I could REALLY use help with is something unique (whatever you recommend) with any part of a breakfast dish or maybe a potato thing (we LOVE potatoes.. who doesnt, right?) or recipe for sausage gravy or something!! Your thoughts are welcome!!
Hope you had a "marvelous Monday" :) I also kinda hope we have a Tuesday memo so I can see what adjective they use for it... haha! ;) Lates, lovelies!! XOXO! AND HAPPY SEPTEMBER!! I cannot believe it's already September!!!!!!!! Whoa! (Dont mistake this post for excitement about that.. I'm unsure whether I'm ok with summer being almost over already...but I do love me some fall). :)

Monday was a drag, I'm not going to lie. Rough. Everything from getting out of bed to stumbling about as I tried to teach Of Mice and Men - words not so fluently fell out of my mouth. Bla, bla, bla.
I wish I had some good cooking advice! Not I said the fly.
Oh and my dear, I was reading Andrea's Miss Priss Does a Blog, thought I saved her to my reader and now I cannot find her... Could you redirect me?
this is the best sausage gravy I've ever made (back when I ate meat and drank milk. boo) Anyway, it's basic but really yummy.

I have tons of breakfast recipes if you need anymore ideas. :-)
I think my Future Mr's favorite thing I have made was pancakes with an egg in the middle. Sounds harder than it actually is. You just make pancakes as usual and then once you have flipped and cooked both sides you get a cup/cookie cutter/anything that will take out part of the middle of the pancake and then crack an egg and cook both sides again. Sounds GROSS but I promise he was IN HEAVEN! good luck!!!
thank you for all your encouraging comments! i did post the ebay thing (no one has bid, BOO!) and i did see the post about perfume and forgot to comment, romance was my go to until vera came along, i wish i had some advice on breakfast i just do scrambled eggs with cheese and maple flavored bacon (its heavenly). im sure whatever you make will be great!
Hubs loves Waffles. I mean LOVES! Plus they are super easy. You could do like an egg, waffle, bacon spread. Also, if you're wanting to do biscuits and gravy, but aren't down to make biscuits from scratch, you can get individually frozen biscuits in the frozen food aisle. They are the same brand as the good canned ones, but I think they taste better. Also, if you are going to do gravy, do a test run before you actually do the gravy b/c it can be super tricky sometimes!
You must check out Pioneer Woman, her recipes rocks!!
Yes maam I get an email notification to my yahoo on your blog *shrugs shoulders* but it does keep me in the loop...lol
The banner, I could not make it work so sad....maybe someone will feel sorry for me :(
I am not much of breakfast person, but I would go to foodtv and check out some of The Barefoot Contessa recipies, she is fantastic!
Terrific Tuesday?! I feel like I spelled that wrong.
How cute that you're making Eric breakfast :) I vote for making biscuits and gravy. I know that lotsa people think making gravy is difficult but it's really not. Cook the sausage, remove it from the pan, sprinkle a few Tbs of flour in the drippings. The key is to make sure that you cook the flour in the drippings for a few minutes, so that it doesn't taste like flour. The pour in milk and wait for it to get thick!
That's my cooking tip of the day. I also have an AMAZING quiche recipe, if y'all like that sort of thing. Eggs, cheese, bacon (you can use any type of meat). You can't really go wrong there.
Your outfit talk makes me want to go shopping!
Well, if you read my blog, you know I'm partial to Blueberry Apple Pancakes. *smile* Seriously, I use that Krusteaz Buttermilk Pancake mix in a bag (just add water and ta-dah!). You can also use it with oil to make great waffles...if you have a waffle iron. lol. Get some frozen blueberries, chop up bananas, pecans, whatever your fave breakfast fruits/nuts are and throw them in the mix. A little cinnamon or cloves, and YUM.
For potato dishes, you can slice them in rounds or in cubes, add loads of shredded sharp cheddar, some cottage cheese, and top with chives. Bake in oven for a yummy cheesy potato mess. Mmm.
I like those little turkey link sausages for breakfast - less fat and grease than standard sausage (same with bacon).
Omelettes are a fave at our house, and super easy for only two. Some feta cheese, sweet bell peppers, and fresh mushrooms, whatever you like. Sour cream and eggs. Grated cheese on top. Done! A little coffee, some mimosas and it's a Hollywood breakfast, girl.
(Good thing I'm eating lunch as I type this because all this food talk made me hungrier than I was!)
i wish i had some cooking advice for you girly but i don't :(
when it comes to breakfast my man loves buscuits and gravy! with guys bacon and eggs or pancakes can't fail either! i think anything you make is going to be better than cereal n milk ;)
