If only all wrinkles were this cute...

So, I might still look tan.. but I think thats from sun DAMAGE. *sigh* I still go tanning.. but only once per week..rarely twice.. and I only go for 10 minutes instead of 20...and I put a towel on my face. I have officially decided to take better care of my skin. I took a little trip to Origins and got this thing called Natures Microdermabrasion and white tea moisturizer. Get it. Use it. Love it. Seriously.. my skin already looks brighter. :) +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
In other news, I go see the PUPPPPPPPY on Monday after work! I was up front with my landlords (that have a no-doggie policy) and they said having a little King Charles was okay...and thanked me for being up front! :) Gah.. skin care.. honesty..what is going on with me?! LOL! So, now all that's left is to see the puppy and hope she works out.. I've looked up everything.. training for apts, grooming, vets, everything.. So.. I'm getting excited and am really hoping my friend doesnt change her mind! I think I even decided on a name! I was thinking Grace or Gracie.. but then I lengthened it to Grace Kelly. What do you think?? Grace Kelly!!! I'll likely stick with calling her Gracie as a nickname!!!! +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Since I DO work full time, I decided that crate training is best...esp initially. I think coming home at lunch for the first few weeks at least will be ideal. Everything I've read said that's a good idea.. then slowly try weaning her from the crate if I want. I could get a little kid gate and put her in the kitchen after awhile to see how that works out.. I'm so nervous! What if I'm a bad owner?! So much pressure!! LOL! Anyone who has a dog, puppy, etc and has trained them, I am welcoming tips... esp if you crate trained them. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Since my bday is coming up on the 3rd, I figured I would buy myself an Ipod or a nicer camera.. nothing fancy but just something with a litttttle better quality.. I've even been doing research on cnet.com (If you havent used it for electronic reviews, you are missing out) but I think the puppy is more impt to me than the other stuff...and this is an opportunity I cant pass up!! :)))))) So.. if it works out, happy birthday to me!!!

Cadillac, Blackjack, baby meet me outback..

Carrie's in town!!!! Carrie's in town!!! Neither one of us were in the mood for a "brookside night." So, after an awesome sushi dinner at ITR South, Shelby, Carrie and me headed to the Caravan!! (Yeah, our hand stamps say "two step" lol!) Shelby had some friends that met us there, so the three of us two stepped, line danced and basically reminded Carrie what she's missing!! haha! :)
Here are the two of us at ITR :)
This lovely... and very intoxicated gentleman...was at a bachelor party.. He came over to our table, bought us drinks, and conviced us to go show the bachelor a good time!! haha! Poor bachelor! We went over and harassed him on the way out...Innocent..I mean.. we were at a restaurant for crying out loud.. Hilarious..

I will never understand why people at Caravan think its okay to line dance to EVERYTHING. I mean.. I'm all for line dancing.. but to "Bringin Sexy Back"....um.. maybe not..
Carrie has WAY better pics than mine at the bar of us dancing and stuff.. I REALLY REALLY REALLY want a new camera.. b/c mine takes kinda dark pics.. Boo. :(

I MIGHT GET A PUPPY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay, so... here's the deal. I did a SHITLOAD of research on dogs when I was looking lots... and determined that I REALLY wanted a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel. (Charlotte's dog from Sex and the City)

These are the criteria I looked at...

1. I will have this dog when I have kids (look at me being all adult)...so it has to have a good temperment with kids..

2. I dont want it to shed a lot.. I understand dogs shed, but just not A LOT..

3. No major problems.. like hereditary ear, eye, etc problems...

4. Good in an apt...

5. Small dog.. not TINY small..but small...(enough for an apt)

6. Soft.. Yeah.. thats a lame category..but I like soft dogs..

7. A girl.. so it could get along with my mom's dog if/when I drop it off when I go visit Chicago or have a work trip or something... Plus, Shelby's dog is a boy and so a girl would get along with it if she was kind enough to watch it...

8. Trains easily....well.. as easily as a dog can train.. :)

Sooooo.. I looked and saw the Cavaliers are seriously 1500 bucks.. cheapest puppy was like 900.. YIKES!@ Go figure I like the pricey puppy, right.. :) So... then I left the firm and thought that it wouldnt be fair for the puppy if I got a job where I traveled a lot... or if I moved. So, I quit looking. The past few weeks, I've been thinking again about a dog.. and get this!!!! My friend called me today... who rescues puppies.. and she "had the perfect dog for me" I thought "yeah... right" So, I asked her what it was and she said.... "A King CHARLES!!!!" So.. here's the deal.. She got it, cant keep it, and is gonna give me an awesome deal on it!!! So, Im gonna go see it Monday.. :)

Wish me luck!!!!!!!!!!! I really want her.. I know its a big thing.. and a serious move... so.. cross your fingers! She said I could try it out and see if I like it for a couple weeks!! :)

Dont go to law school.. or amusement parks..

http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/06/21/six.flags.accident/index.html

Yikes! Gross. I will not ride another feet dangling ride. Something gives me problems already when someone tells me to take off my shoes b/c I might lose them. Yeah. They dont ever say you might lose the things that go IN your shoes! EW!

An interesting article I found on someone else's blog about Law School's effects on students:

It's long, but some quotes are quite entertaining... *Ah, law school... (wistful sigh)... haha!
http://psp.sagepub.com/cgi/reprint/33/6/883

"Indeed, the emotional distress
of law students appears to significantly exceed that
of medical students and at times to approach that of
psychiatric populations."

"More important,
they showed that these declines were correlated with negative
changes in motivation and valuing as defined by SDT.
Specifically, students evidenced radically reduced intrinsic
motivation, that is, a loss of engagement in behavior
because of its interest and enjoyment potential. In addition,
students showed maladaptive changes in valuing during
their 1st year of law school."

"The current findings suggest that
the motivation-dampening effects of law school may
indeed have negative effects that extend well beyond graduation.
These effects are also consistent with recent commentators’
claims that there are major problems in the
legal profession."

Damn. Well, I seem to have quite enough motivation, but then again.. I'm not practicing law anymore!! haha! Awesome!

Love to my homies. Or something.

Kids say the darndest..and the meanest...things!!

So, I ate dinner with my mom tonight at Utica Sq. Then, we sat and listened to Thurs night music on the square for a little bit.. First of all, my mom knew everyone.. When did she get a social life? Sheez! I love it! :) Second of all.. a kid said something to me.. But let me preface first....

Isnt it weird that kids can totally hurt your feelings b/c they're SO unedited?? I mean.. they can also make you feel SO good.... Okay.. so...That said..

1. I was once told (by a child I was teaching swim lessons to) "Miss Jackie, you're too big for my (swim) robe...you're REALLY big... but.. I guess you're not as big as a house.." (gee thanks, kid)
2. (by another swim lesson child) "You have red lines in your eyes. My mommy gets those sometimes." (awesome, kid.. thanks for telling me I looked like the hangover I felt)
3. (by a child I babysat) "You talk too fast." (Um...whatever brat)

*****
4. I could go on and on.. but tonight, this adorable little girl was passing out fans.. prolly about 7 years old.. and she stopped at me and said "Wow. You're beautiful." I wanted to embrace her and say "I am taking you home forever if you can just repeat that when I wake up in the morning, go to sleep....um.. just whenever.." LOL!! Anyway, it was sweet and I was way flattered. It's kinda like receiving a compliment from a gay guy.. I mean.. c'mon girls, we all know those are priceless b/c it's coming from someone with a penis.. that has no intention of seeing our boobs...Fabulous!

As for SYTYCD, *sigh* I really didnt like Fayena (sp??) but I dont think that other guy should have gone home.. Whatever....

PS.. I got PAID.. My first check at the new jobbie!! :) Love it!! (oh, and still loving the job btw.. makes me wonder what the hell I was thinking for so long!)

PPS.. Yeah, Shelby, I think it'll be a gay bar, too.. Seriously.. Hmm.. But, then I might like it... Less ass-grabbing trash.... Well.. maybe..

Public Restrooms and Gym Denial

So, when you use a public restroom.. ya know.. one with lots of stalls...you KNOW there is one that you typically aim for.. I mean.. routinely, I go for the 2nd stall. Something feels wrong about the first one.. like I'm not patient enough to just head for the 2nd...and to me, it's just better than heading to the handicapped one.. b/c I think that's rude. I dont need that much space to do my business. The other stalls are just superfluous if you ask me. I have tunnel vision for stall 1, stall 2 and handicapped. Hmm.. Okay, anyway.. so at work.. the 2nd stall has a broken flusher. It's actually a retarded flusher that kinda has to be jiggled while you say a little prayer for it to flush. Yet, out of habit, there I am, wishing I had just gone to the damn third stall as I maneuver the flusher. *sigh*

In other news, I headed to the gym last night...and my gym card DIDNT WORK to get in the door! I find this a sign from God that I am destined to be a fat ass...or just destined to sit on my sofa and watch tv rather than on the treadmill. *sigh* Considering my bill is paid in full, I dont know what's up but it's annoying. Some nice lady let me in.. which kinda creeps me out that she didnt ask questions. Hmm. Anyway, can my work id card make my gym id card ineffective? Can they touch and deactivate or something? Interested, I am.

*SYTYCD was disappointing last night. Mary Murphy wasnt crazy. The dancers weren't amazing. Whatever.

So, Suede has reopened.. as "Jewel." WTF?! "Hey, I'm gonna go to Jewel tonight. Wanna come?" No. Doesnt work for me. However, I want to see this mecca of Tulsa's finest. (please note the sarcasm)... Love love.

Just call me Thomas Edison..

Why, you ask? Well.. last night, in my very own apt, I was sitting on my sofa. It was lightning like friggin crazy outside. Okay.. now.. I have track lighting in my ceiling (I'm so trendy and modern, hold me back). Okay, well the middle of three bulbs has been burned out since..um.. November. Yeah, I'm lazy. It's tall. An the other two bulbs do the trick anyway. Okay.. so.. last night, picture it... CRASH-BANG-LIGHTNING... and (insert Jesus-I'm running toward the white light-music here) the LIGHTBULB WENT ON! It's STILL. ON. Yeah. My apt is a friggin marvel!

Okay, in other news, Maureen and I went to see the Tulsa area pom squads perform at their camp at the Reynolds Center yesterday! Our friend, Emily, coaches for Union. Um.. lemme just say.. (1) some of those girls DONT look like they're in high school and (2) Emily coaches some damn good girls! Ya'll know me.. I love stuff like dance competitions. I actually record them on ESPN. Yeah, I do. Union rocked it. Seriously. It's really a shame that Maureen and I sat in a sea of Jenks fans. Oops! Oh.. also got a glimpse of Sarah S.. now Ivy.. coaching Edison!! I didnt get to say hi, but she's so friggin cute as a little pom coach! Ah.. takes me back to the Kappa Sig Olympics days.. *sigh*

Oh. I hate diet soda. I mentioned that awhile ago. I have, however, found a new love for Coke Zero. Drink it. Love it. It's not that diet taste. Oh.. along the getting in shape thing.. I am gonna try to go to that Rock and Roll yoga class on Friday evening. If anyone wants to come, it's only 10 bucks and it's worth it!!! I cant STAND the meat market, really-super-fake-fit-and-firm places (hence me going to an all chick gym) and this class is SO up my alley..b/c let's face it.. I'm not firm, not NORMALLY fake, and well.. my breasts are too small to be admitted to the other gyms on Brookside. So.. I'm done trying to sell you on it.. I'll let you ponder.

Random funny:
I have a big window. It's very clean. All day, birds thunk into it. This gives me jollies. That is all. Maybe they KNEW I was learning about the avian flu and they were jealous. I think so.

OUTBREAK!!

So, this morning, I'm part of a team participating in a company wide drill in the event we have a serious outbreak, epidemic, major friggin crisis. It's confidential so I cant discuss really.. but it's a serious freaking drill including media releases, community reaction, company memos, plan of action, etc... and that's just MY role. So, I am sitting in my office awaiting tasks as they become available (as they mock-happen).

At any rate, you know what a good blog is.. besides mine.. lol.. www.lawwithgrace.blogspot.com Shelby pointed it out to me and this girl is damn funny. It's recently more about the bar exam, but she's just funny in general if you go to her archives for May, etc..But, if you scroll past the first few bar exam posts on the main page, she's still generally hilarious. :) Shelby has indeed been updating more as well.. I need to change her link on my blog accordingly. :)))

Um.. what else.. I saw a bear ate some kid that was camping. They killed the bear. What?! What is this...eye for an eye...the animal version? I mean.. they were CAMPING in an area with well posted "beware of bear" signs..and had FOOD in the tent. I feel badly for the family, but seriously...Why didnt they try FEEDING the bear instead of killing it? I mean.. deforestation is contributing to this crap so why not go kill the big companies cutting down trees instead of the bear? Makes sense to me. *Sigh* Oh well.. this is why I dont go camping.

Tonight I shall try to make it to body boot camp. Please note I just said I dont "camp" so this should be interesting...

Yeah, I made fun....but I like it..

So, I totally thought this show was gonna be the biggest joke EVER, but I watched a couple.. and I really like it. I thought it was gonna be all male bashing, feminazi crap. But, they really help people...women AND men.. I'm a fan. I really like that they send the woman or man to work on their psychological well-being first.. It's not all revenge and looking pretty.. It's actually kinda cool. The releasing anger part is kinda funny.. I know it's not supposed to be...but it has its moments... Maybe I should put on a blindfold and release anger when Im upset? Maybe. Anyway.. Watch it. You'll be inspired.. well..that is after you absolutely freak at the idea of what could happen in a marriage.. lol! :)
***Im a big fan of (1) not having the bar exam so I can watch tv....and (2) not having to bill hours so I can watch tv....oh and (3) not having to bill hours. period. lol!

UPDATE:

I got home last night..after blogging at Maureen's. So, it was about 10:30something...and I had NO WATER again. *sigh* Boo on water. Boo on Cox. Boo. Boo. BOOOOOOO. Dasani and I are great friends after I used my leftover water bottle to brush my teeth and wash my face.. This is why I'm hot. Just FYI...

Mary Murphy just gets weirder.. and funnier...

So, I havent blogged. I know. It's b/c I've been busy the past couple nights and have fun pics to go along with what I want to blog about. But, I have a sec, so.. for your entertainment..Ill skip the pics. Boo.

I'm leaving tonight for the wedding in TX! Wish me luck driving 5 and half hours. Yikes! At least I have passengers in case I get royally lost.. cause lets face it.. I'm totally directionally challenged.

Things:
1. I saw something about Gilligan (as in Gilligan's Island) and decided he looks like the guy from Traveler. Seriously. Go look. The rich kid is Gilligan. Yes. I had a picture. (insert pouty face)
2. I LOVE So You Think You Can Dance!! My fav couple is Hok and Jaimie. I didnt watch last year, so do the couples stay paired in the same pairs? I hope so. I really like that Lauren girl and Niel, but I like Niel less than Lauren. I am SO glad the weird kid went home. I mean.. he was good, but he likely totally creeped his partner out. I mean.. I wouldnt want to be paired with him after some of the weird things he said and did. You just cant look like you're "into" greasy hair boy if you ask me anyway. I also really like Lacey (Benji's sister) and her partner. I had photos of this, too. Boo again. *sigh*
3. There are some interesting Lost spoilers out there (see the link) already! :) Plus, the producers promised NOT to end the show the way the friggin Sopranos did. They promised we'd know what happened and not have to guess. Happy about this.
4. The car. In Tulsa. Buried. Is apparently rusted. :( I guess water got in there.. as in a LOT of water. They said there were water marks at the tops of the windows.. or water at the top.. I dont know. I should really read the news. If I were them, I would have worked through the night to make it look less rust-buckety. That's me. A little fraudulent, but hey.. the people want to see a car!!!

Okay, now.. make a comment or something so I feel better about blogging without pics.. aka like someone's actually reading it. LOL! :) Happy weekend and all that. Stay dry!!!!

Boot Camp..the sleep version...

So, instead of boot camp, this is more what I looked like. *sigh* I decided to "take a little nap" and before I knew it, it was 9pm. I guess my body was tired! Pushups... nap...pushups.. nap.. Nap won. Damnit. How am I ever gonna get a perky ass when I'm sleepin on it? LOL! I guess my body needed it.. Some people at work have

On another note that I forgot to blog earlier, I took a pair of heels to get fixed FINALLY. I have SO many that sound like Im freaking tap dancing b/c the little plastic heel cap thing has come off.. Sooo.. I took them to a place on 51st and Sheridan and it was SEVEN DOLLARS!!! THAT'S ALL!! Ill have to let you know how it looked.. I mean.. 80 bucks for new heels versus 7 dollars for a fix? Yeah... wonder what wins... :)
