That dad was kinda hot...

I woke up this morning and have a red spot in my eyeball. Yes, I looked it up at it's normal...some kind of subjunctival hemorrhage in all likelihood. Can we go through my last week? Pharyngitis (whatever). Spider Bite/large insect bite. Now my hemorrhage. My body must be like pissed off at me or somethin... Well.. enough about that..

I went to Kelli's last night and we dressed up our dogs (I took photos) :) Hers: Reggie was a lobster, Rosa was a princess. Mine: Gracie was a ladybug. :) They all romped around together while trick or treaters came. Cute. :) We expected more than we got, but they were still cute...esp the kid in the scream costume that fell up her stairs...and the little girl whose dad accompanied her to the front door. Kelli shut the door and said "That dad was kinda hot...is that wrong?" hahahaha! :)

Also, Private Practice was good times. I like the Pete/Addison thing. In other tv news, the Real World. WHAT THE HELL did Shavonne do?? She LEFT the cast to go home to her stupid boyfriend b/c he didn't like her there. WHAT?! Yeah, that's normal. NORMAL FOR PEOPLE WHO ABUSE THEIR FRIGGIN WIVES. He started CRYING when she said she was taking a trip with the cast to Cairns, Australia. CRYING. Plus, the new girl looks like a bitch. Ugh. I'm tired of the chicks; bring on another guy. I'm glad Shavonne went through the screening process, got picked over lots of other people, only to go home to her possessive boyfriend. Over it.

That's all I've got right now. Oh...HAPPY 8 MONTH BIRTHDAY TO GRACIE!!! AND..when did it become November?! I must admit, November makes me want to take a hike, jump in leaves, go camping, have scented candles burning all the time... yeah.. Happy November!

Hump Day

I couldn't find anything super spooky. I tried. I cant really look at a lot at work. Maybe I'll take a pic of Gracie in her ladybug costume. Hmm... :)

So, at lunch, I met Kel at the mall in all my bandaid glory. I'm actually getting used to the little tan sticker. Anyway, while at the Chinese Gourmet (I know.. it's gross.. it looked good though), I made the lady mad when I asked for a spring roll. I dont know what happened, but she handed it to me rather forcefully, uttering "SPRING. ROLL." and I spilled my drink on the guy next to me. Seriously. Okay.. soo... I'm on my way home when....a car DARTS out of the way in front of me only in time for me to see a slow mo version of a blue trashcan hurtling through the air toward my car. Yeah, well, old man in the buick next to me (not that I have anything against buicks, but seriously, he couldve moved over a lane) wouldn't move, so I struck the can.. head on. Trash flew everywhere. WHAT?! All the while old man kept driving at about 55 mph not even glancing my way. Arg.

This was almost as good as Aaron's mom finding my panties at his apartment 2 weeks ago. Did I tell you that story? Well, it was classic. The best part was her calling me thinking it was funny. It was funny (mainly b/c she thought it was funny b/c otherwise what a DISASTER), but I was slightly close to leaping into the nearest hole. Thank God you cant see facial expressions on the phone.

Happy Halloween, Hump Day and... B/c I'm in my 20s (Vol 6)

First off, Happy Halloween!! I'll try to post something spooky later. I feel like it's a double blogging day. But, first off, B/c I'm in my 20s since it's Wed and all...

A letter to Responsibility.

Dear Responsibility,

You and I have had a pretty good relationship for many years now, but lately, you're kinda starting to bother me.. Frankly, you really piss me off. You see, I'm not so old that I've forgotten the college days of sleeping through class on occasion, blowing off a paper until 3am while goofing off at the library, and basically ignoring the real world from the comfort of a college campus. All those things considered, I don't mind such a grown up relationship with you most of the time.

Lately, it's just that, I feel like I need a break from you. This doesn't have to be forever, but maybe even just a week or so. I know that I craved you for so long.. during the times when mom reminded me "you have to be there by 8pm..." (DUH) or "Now, Jax, dont forget to ____." I wanted to have you all to myself, but now, I think I just need some time alone.

Unfortunately, you've got stalker tendencies. I mean... I don't want to hurt your feelings or anything, but I can't really go anywhere to escape you. I think we'd have a better relationship if you would just give me my space for a bit. Don't worry; there's no one else in the picture-just me. Thanks for understanding.

Love,
Jax

WebMd should be shut down

Well, maybe it shouldn't. But, last night, I was fairly convinced that my spider bite had actually CAUSED my throat to swell up last week. My throat feels better, but is still swollen. So, what if.....I mean.. it could happen, right? Whatever. It could. Needless to say, I had to take a tylenol PM to fall asleep b/c I was convinced I would die in my sleep with a swollen throat and no one would know. I was sure I would call Aaron or 911 and it would go like this:

me: "Choke.. I...cant.....breeathe.."
Them: "What, I can't understand you."
My dog: *ruff ruff..*
Them: "Hello?"
Me: On the floor, clutching my throat.

Overdramatic? Yeah. Whatever. Needless to say I still have a bandaid on my face today. It's hot.

So, in the middle of the band-aid face drama yesterday, I ran into a high school friend at lunch. I mean.. when else would you run into a high school friend but when you have a bandaid on your face? Of course. Anyway, he and I are going to lunch today b/c I actually was glad to run into him, but whatever.

In other news: The Hills: I love Lauren and Brody. That's all. The Bachelor: I was surprised he didnt kick off crazy family girl. I think he will. I prefer Jenny to the greek chick for obvious reasons from my past. LOL! :)

I dont have anything else exciting to say. Until later....

This is why we're hot...

Stop 1: Maureen's house to get ready, order pizza, and have wine :)
Stop 2: Kelli's friends from college had a party! :)

We took pics.......

......karaoked.......

...had some haunted looking punch (and oreo cookie eyeballs)

Then, step 3: Call Cab Driver Steve to take us to the Brady! We met up with other famous people... like Bob Ross (aka Ryan)

......and saw the Black Eyed Peas!!!! (aka Mary and Bryan)

This is the view of the bottom floor of the party which raged on until past 4am!

We stole other people's costumes lying on the table. Nicole Richie needs glasses, too. Whatever.

Finally, a bee, catwoman, and another version of Nicole Richie met up to dance for awhile

We finally got tired and called a cab to take us home like any good heiress, expectant mother, and crazed pop star......

We went home, I had Kelli cut off my duct taped baby bump, and we crashed til mid afternoon the next day. The next day, I realized using my handcuffs as a prop/bracelet in lots of photos was not the best idea.....OUCH! (It doesnt actually hurt, but it looks crazy, right?!)

Update

1. My chin looks like something out of a sci fi movie. For real. I have another bite mark on my chin. I looked this up and it's "NORMAL" for a spider bite to have a couple holes. Awesome. So, I went to walgreens and got some cortizone. I now have a bandaid on my face. I agree, Melissa, I look eff-ing street! Watch out beeotches, this clear band-aid band bandage has superpowers.
2. I have a love hate relationship with walgreens. Love b/c its that place you can go when you dont want to go to walmart, etc.... HATE b/c people treat it like a damn walmart. Um.. if you need candy, shampoo, eyeliner, chips, ice cream, etc all in one trip, GO TO THE STORE.. NOT TO WALGREENS. Also, dont bring infants to Walgreens. Sick people go to Walgreens. Dont bring your INFANT there and walk around like it's nothing. Dumbass.

That is all from the land of spiderwoman.

Spider bites and other nonsense

Good morning! So, I uploaded some photos, but was too tired to blog about them. Ill do it tonight. Saturday, Maureen, Kelli and I wore our orange shirts we made into dresses that said "LA county jail" and accordingly dressed in Paris, Britney and Nicole! I was Nicole and preggers. It was pretty damn funny. We even made fake alcohol monitoring anklets that flashed. We headed to Kel's friend's party then cab driver Steve took us to the Brady party where we stayed til....4am! I got home at 5!!! WHAT?!!! LOL! We had a blast and danced til the wee hours of the morning...including me in all my pregnant glory! My fake baby bump got in the way of droppin it like it's hot, though.. :)

I think I got bitten by something... a spider.. I dont know. It looks like a damn zit b/c it's on my chin. ON MY FACE. It's eff-ing gross. Covering it up with makeup makes it worse, but I cant exactly wear a bandaid on my face at work. *sigh* Recommendations?

I also have a rather large bruise on my hand from the handcuffs with my costume. I'm friggin fallin apart. lol!

randomstuffdotcom

So, not really feeling creative...b/c I have VIRAL PHARYNGITIS! WHAT?! Yeah, that means NO MEDS. Personally, I think I'm getting tonsilitis...like I do EVERY. YEAR. But, I chose my doc b/c he's an MD, but he's more homeopathic, etc, so I'm gonna do what he says and assume he's right on the pharyngitis. Whatever.

Reason number whatever why my job rocks! We have the Booker T drumline come into our atrium...Yeah. It was pretty friggin awesome. Not gonna lie. The whole building was rocking. Last night, I went to a Fall Hair/Fashion show to benefit Resonance (women's organization). Here are me, Kel and Amy. :)
Here's part of the fashion show. Another part of it was company-sponsored makeovers. Kinda cool. :) It was something different.
And...here's the place I will always see and get a feeling in my chest that I'll never forget... This is the place I took the bar exam...the place everyone takes the bar exam in Tulsa. For the computer takers (me), I went in the far left door. Then, the multiple choice was in the right door. I remember the way the tables looked set up by the trashcans where we checked in. I remember standing there...gah... my heart is beating faster just thinking about it. (and I remember what I wore...referring to this week's post.. black workout pants, a white tank top and a black hoodie, hair back. For those of you who know me, you know that's a big deal...b/c I like to dress up...or at least feel "awake" when I take tests...b/c I think it's important. The bar exam, though... I just wanted to make it out alive.. haha..
Well, viral pharyngitis and I are gonna be BFFs for the weekend, I guess. Whatever. If my doc ir right, I will love him. If I get tonsilitis, I will change doctors asap. Poo.

It's official...

....I gave in to my stubborness. When my throat felt like a foreign object was lodged in it this morning with needles protruding into it, I decided to call the doc. *sigh* He has an online site that you can type your symptoms in for a small fee. He then reviews and hopefully sends an antibiotic. (PLEASE cross your fingers that this is what happens here).

At least I'm having a good hair day

So, I dont feel all that much better, but don't feel like shit, either. I have, and have always had, a hard time "reading" my body's signs when I'm sick or hurt. I mean.. when I'm gushing blood from an open wound, I pretty much know that's trouble. But, tmi, my past is littered with kidney infections that could've been caught MUCH sooner, tonsilitis that transitions to something worse, sinus infections that go to upper respiratory infections, etc.. *sigh* I remember I had bronchitis, the flu AND tonsilitis at the SAME. TIME. once. All that said, I feel like I feel better today, but not pushing my luck. Last night, my throat felt like it was lined with cotton...with spikes in the cotton. Good imagery, huh? But, no fever, no nausea, etc, so whatever. (knock on wood)

I'm supposed to go to some Marilyn Ihloff Fall Hair Show thing tonight to benefit some women's thing. (I'm so informed, huh). I don't like to bail on things, but I'm playing it by ear to see if it's wise that I go...

During my break from napping yesterday, I watched Private Practice and I think it was my favorite episode thus far. Decided. Maybe it's b/c I was drugged on OTC stuff. Who knows. But, it was good. Yes. "Gynoenergy" and "She doesnt DO that?" made me crack up..

Also, thanks to the people that have asked about Aaron's fam in California. They're all okay and the fires are more suburbia than where they live. I looked at images on msnbc.com and I almost cried.. Talked to Alove the other day and she said her car was covered in an ashy film and the sky is brown. Nuts... Aaron's mom said the sky in San Diego was orange....I couldn't imagine..

And here's my non-ranting 20something post: It blows ass to live alone and have no one to go to walgreens for you when your throat hurts or make you soup when you'd rather lay down. BUT, it KICKS ass to scare everyone in walgreens by trying to look really super sick when walking down the aisles and proudly announcing on your cell phone "I think I have the flu..." Ahh.. my twisted enjoyment....

Down with the green shirt...

...b/c I left work early yesterday-sick. :( Boo. I slept all night last night with an hr break to go to Walgreens. I don't feeeeel badly, but my throat was swollen. *sigh* I feel a bit better today, so I'll blog more later. But, uh, yeah, no more green shirt for awhile. I think some old law firm cooties were left on the shirt or something... ;)

I attach a stigma to clothes. Deal.

I'm wearing "the" shirt today. I wasn't sure if I'd wear this shirt again. I washed it since that day, hung it in my closet and just look at it like "no, not today." But, today IS that day....and I like this shirt damnit! I'm wearing the green, lightweight (and very cute) shirt I was wearing the day I left the firm on April 5, 2007. You see, I have an abnormal quirky memory for clothes. I can tell you what I've worn on every major event in my life, every first date, etc. It's odd really. I can usually tell you what date the event happened on, too. (ex: high school boyf and I split on Oct 3rd) But, let's say I break up with someone in an outfit, I will not.. I repeat NOT.. wear that exact outfit together again. Just as I will not wear this lovely green shirt with the cute black floods and large black earrings again. Today, it's with black pants and large silver ball studs. Therefore, I am actually wearing a totally different outfit. Leave me alone-I'm OCD. I know.

Why did I think it was okay to wear this shirt? Well, I had a "review" of my job performance yesterday. They're done a couple times per year here. I've found that I have this almost-subconscious complex of "I bet I'm totally messing up.." b/c of how I felt at the firm last year. No pity party or anything, just sayin. Anyway, my review yesterday went SO. WELL! I was told that I was taking on more responsibility than they'd thought I'd take on this quickly and I was basically kicking butt at it! I'm not wanting to toot my own horn-at all. But, it was just great to have my boss say "I always forget how new you are to the company...and that's a great thing." So, fighting a grin, I said "thank you" and knew it was okay to wear the green shirt today. :)

I'll try to blog my 20-something post later. :)
