I havent thrown a good pity party/whiney-fest since my staph infection. It's overdue.
I just got a call from AEP. Apparently, my LL's havent gotten an electrician out there yet and therefore "we've been moved to the bottom of the priority list for repairs." AND we have to call back once my LLs get this crap repaired...so that the electric company can fix the electricity. Oh. My. GOD.
I want power. It's been 9 days. I WANT EFF-ing POWER. I am tired of driving back and forth, wasting gas, getting my hopes up, eating fast food, having no cable, not being able to sleep in my own bed, paying my bills (despite not LIVING there to enjoy what I'm paying for). If they dont pro-rate our rent, I might lose my mind. They're nice people; they really are.. and this isnt their fault. But, uh, seriously... how did my mom get an electrician to come out DAYS ago and yet we still havent? I mean.. what if they dont pro-rate us? I dont want to piss off my LL's by refusing to pay the entire month, but my God. Not living there for almost two weeks makes me a little angry that I have to pay rent.
Also, where the EFF are the rest of my neighbors? I mean.. I know one girl has been calling, too. But, I feel like I'm the one doing most of the harassing AEP. The rest are just kinda waiting to see when we get power. I text everyone telling them we have to tag team the electric company once our LLs get this fixed. Plus, let's tag team our LL's to GET IT FIXED. People that sit there and do nothing royally hack me off. Since when did I become the leader in this power mission? We ALL live there. Gah! Stop being such a drain on my psychological well-being!!!!!! *insert me making a crazy face.. really*
I got infuriated and went to grab a Diet Dr. Pepper. I dont even like diet, but I'm trying to be healthier damnit. I went to ALL THREE vending machines at work...ALL SOLD OUT OF DIET DP. That was pretttty much the straw that made me want to throw my body at the vending machine to show it who's boss. Yeah. I didn't do that. But mostly b/c I was afraid I'd hurt myself.
I have done hardly any holiday shopping, my gas bill (car) is crazy from all the driving I've done to my apt then back to wherever I'm staying then back again and I'm basically putting my life on friggin hold. WHERE ARE THE DAMN ELECTRICIANS? FIX MY POWER. NOW. And as for my neighbors, get off your asses and call the electric company and our LLs. Finally, people in our building need to drink less Diet Dr. Pepper.... AGH!
And.. know what else... people that watch foodtv dessert specials while working out... FREAK ME OUT. Stop torturing yourself, morons. Whew.. that's been bothering me for awhile.
I feel healthier now...I'm harnessing my chi and getting back to a very zen place... I doubt I'll stay there... but for now... deep breaths.... deeeeeeep breaths......

Twas the Night Before....
No, I don't have power. Apparently the powerhead (?) is messed up (per my LL). So, today hopefully. Whatever. I've lost hope at this point. I think we need a discount on our rent. My little legal brain is gettin started.. Anyway, speaking of my legal brain, I found this funny online. I'm writing one for my vice president to read at our holiday thing..I'll post mine on here when I'm done. :)

Whereas, on or about the night prior to Christmas, there did occur at a certain improved piece of real property (hereinafter "the House") a general lack of stirring by all creatures therein, including, but not limited to a mouse.
A variety of foot apparel, e.g. stocking, socks, etc., had been affixed by and around the chimney in said House in the hope and/or belief that St. Nick a/k/a/ St. Nicholas a/k/a/ Santa Claus (hereinafter "Claus") would arrive at sometime thereafter.
The minor residents, i.e. the children, of the aforementioned House, were located in their individual beds and were engaged in nocturnal hallucinations, i.e. dreams, wherein vision of confectionery treats, including, but not limited to, candies, nuts and/or sugar plums, did dance, cavort and otherwise appear in said dreams.
Whereupon the party of the first part (sometimes hereinafter referred to as "I"), being the joint-owner in fee simple of the House with the parts of the second part (hereinafter "Mamma"), and said Mamma had retired for a sustained period of sleep. (At such time, the parties were clad in various forms of headgear, e.g. kerchief and cap.)
Suddenly, and without prior notice or warning, there did occur upon the unimproved real property adjacent and appurtent to said House, i.e. the lawn, a certain disruption of unknown nature, cause and/or circumstance. The party of the first part did immediately rush to a window in the House to investigate the cause of such disturbance.
At that time, the party of the first part did observe, with some degree of wonder and/or disbelief, a miniature sleigh (hereinafter the "Vehicle") being pulled and/or drawn very rapidly through the air by approximately eight (8) reindeer. The driver of the Vehicle appeared to be and in fact was, the previously referenced Claus.
Said Claus was providing specific direction, instruction and guidance to the approximately eight (8) reindeer and specifically identified the animal co-conspirators by name: Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donder and Blitzen (hereinafter the "Deer"). (Upon information and belief, it is further asserted that an additional co-conspirator named Rudolph may have been involved.)
The party of the first part witnessed Claus, the Vehicle and the Deer intentionally and willfully trespass upon the roofs of several residences located adjacent to and in the vicinity of the House, and noted that the Vehicle was heavily laden with packages, toys and other items of unknown origin or nature.
Suddenly, without prior invitation or permission, either express or implied, the Vehicle arrived at the House, and Claus entered said House via the chimney. Said Claus was clad in a red fur suit, which was partially covered with residue from the chimney, and he carried a large sack containing a portion of the aforementioned packages, toys, and other unknown items.
He was smoking what appeared to be tobacco in a small pipe in blatant violation of local ordinances and health regulations. Claus did not speak, but immediately began to fill the stocking of the minor children, which hung adjacent to the chimney, with toys and other small gifts. (Said items did not, however, constitute "gifts" to said minor pursuant to the applicable provisions of the U.S. Tax Code.)
Upon completion of such task, Claus touched the side of his nose and flew, rose and/or ascended up the chimney of the House to the roof where the Vehicle and Deer waited and/or served as "lookouts."
Claus immediately departed for an unknown destination. However, prior to the departure of the Vehicle, Deer and Claus from said House, the party of the first part did hear Claus state and/or exclaim: "Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!" Or words to that effect.
See. I think that shit's funny. The rest of you are bored. lol! That's what's wrong with me. *sigh* haha! Anyway, on that note, I signed up for the "last chance" to do continuing legal education and therefore keep my license. Gah. Lawyers... ;)

UPDATE!
I called PSO/AEP and spoke to a lovely person named Grace who told me EVERYONE will be restored by 10pm TOMORROW!!!!! I feel like doing the cabbage patch or something equally white girl and embarrassing. Roger Rabbit what what....
Now, pray that my cable line works so I dont have to join the thousands with no access to the internet, tv, etc. I'm tired of being in the "have nots." I want to be in the "haves" with the rest of the upper crust people with power (PwP if you will). There's a good chance my cable might work since no trees fell on the lines, but AEP actually CUT our electric line b/c it was dangerous with the limbs, etc. Hopefully the weather gods spared my cable!!!
I love you, Grace from AEP. I love you!!

When you turn on your light, think of me...
Things I want to talk about today in no order what-so-ever.
1. Ice damage crap.
So, I'm about as tired of talking about the magnificent invention of electricity as you are hearing me talk about it. Whatever, it's my blog. My apt is still dark and scary, but cleeeeean. You see, I was heading home and finding shit by basically throwing other shit aroun..including clothes, mail, etc. So, Sat, I went home and cleaned before heading back to Sarah and Andrews. :) My mom has power (as of yesterday)so I had somewhere to shack last night...and until I get power at my place. Although, I think her hot water heater pilot light went out b/c no hot h20 this morning. I'm pimpin a headband and a ponytail. Be jealous.
I threw out my fridge stuff yesterday. I puked. Seriously. Picture the smell of chicken, cottage cheese, yogurt.. I'll stop now. It wasnt pretty.
7 Days. 7 Days of not sleeping in MY bed or showering at MY apt. I'm lucky to have good friends and also a mom with power now. I just want them to tell me affirmatively "Jax, count on no power til Thursday" or something. This going home every night and packing again thing is getting old.
Also, I forgot to mention the other day. I almost (seriously almost) bought a headlamp light thing when I couldnt find another flashlight. I think they're awesome. Can you see me in a headlamp? That might make my day....lol!
I've also begun to resent those with power up at work. It's like some mini celebration when they get it back on. I smile really big and say "yay!" but really mean "whatever, you're off my planet."
2. Cable
This goes into the above category, but for me it's impt enough for it's own number. The cable... will not be back on until around JANUARY 12th!!! OH. MY. GOOD. LORD. Kelli called yesterday to "get in line" with Cox. All I've got to say is....if I'm missing Grey's, those bastards better not be charging me. Hmph!
3. Lucca at the mall.
Okay, so I got a dress at the new little boutique, Lucca. I thought it looked very LC from The Hills. However, I should have realized that LC looks like she's in a trash bag when she wears some of that stuff. I put it on and looked...well.. just bad. So, I went to return it. Newsflash.. they dont take returns! WHAT?! AND, they dont take exchanges if they've sold out of the merchandise! ARG! It's a good thing I'm nice and I shot the shit with the sales girl b/c she let me return the dress for a semi-cute sweater. I should've known better than to shop somewhere that has "dresses" which are actually shirts. Gah. I dont like my ass cheeks hanging out for the world to see. Thank you very much.
4. The gym.
Speaking about ass cheeks, I went to the gym last night for the first time in a week. Just b/c midtown is without power and you have to shower at the gym, please don't walk around naked in the bathroom. It really just makes the rest of us awkward. I mean... it's not like I've never seen boobs n butts before, but I feel like a perv when I'm waiting for the tanning bed and have to sit there while a naked woman brushes her hair, teeth, etc.. Put on some damn clothes!! I ran into the wall accidentally trying to look down when I walked around the corner. That just made me look worse... Good Lord. Also, the fact that she pressed her naked body against the counter makes me nervous to touch the counter. That is all.
Also, this conversation should've never taken place:
Woman on yoga matt: "You have power yet?"
Me: "Nope.. That's why I haven't been here in a week...Doesn't take much to get me outta shape.. *laugh*"
Woman: "I have no power, either.. But, I've come up here...Haven't been here in a week? Wow.." *insert her making a disapproving face at me* She then stopped conversating like my lazy ass wasnt good enough to chat with awkwardly over ab exercises.
I have one thing to say: BITC*H, I didn't want to talk to you anyway and my kickboxing will take down your yoga loving butt any day. Hmph!
I'll admit.. Maybe I'm a bit more volatile lately. haha...
Movie suggestions for tonight are welcome. Kel and I watched the Nanny Diaries last night. My rating: Hot guy in the movie. Hot girl in the movie. Good ending. Chick flick. I give it an A. That is all. :)

I've got the power...
Oh wait. No I dont. :(
I stayed with Helga and her Husband last night (aka Sarah and Andrew). They rock my world.. Got a good night's sleep...as did little Gracie. I think I'll be there again tonight thanks to their awesome hospitality and my pathetic slight homelesness... Okay, I'm being overdramatic, but still.
This is me when I drive to my apt:
"Please be on...PLEASE be on... plllleasebeon!!!!!!!!!!"
Then, I crest the little hill and see that the light by my apt is still out and my wee little heart drops. Boo.
They told my mom she'd be on my Christmas. Awesome. Apparently, the box came off her house and she's in a long line of people to have an electrician come out. Also, even if they DO come out, they're out of supplies around here to fix the boxes on the houses. It's almost so crappy it's comical.
In much brighter news, Sarah has the N'Sync Holiday CD! Does this rock your world as much as it does mine?? "Merry Christmas...Hap.py. Ho-o-o-lidays..." *insert me doing nsync type dance*
Pray for the power. Have a great weekend!
Oh...something comedic. One of my co workers was telling someone (another coworker) in another state about the ice n stuff. She said "yeah, it's so bad here. Jax's been sleeping with friends....WAIT.. I mean.. at her friend's...." LOL!

Some pics n stuff...
Maureen's street.. it was in the Tulsa World!

A local home...
Brookside...heading south
Woodward park
I stole these from a friend but they more adequately capture what it looks like... Boo. :(

I stole this from someone else.. but here's TU
A local home...
Brookside...heading south
Woodward park
I stole these from a friend but they more adequately capture what it looks like... Boo. :(Reasons I felt like I was in a bad horror flick last night:
****************************************************************************
1. With my 30 dollar flashlight (yes, really... ridic, right?), I went home after getting some food and running errands. I was the ONLY car on my street besides my neighbor's car that he'd left there.
2. I saw a flaslight across the street....then realized it was someone trying to break into my neighbor's car. No. shit. They saw me an drove off.
3. I realized I could not stay there. Went up to pack to head to Coweta again (thank GAWD for Jennifer)
4. Dropped my light in my apt and couldnt find the batteries that had fallen out. In pitch darkness, crawled on hands and knees almost in tears til I found them.
*************************************************************************
Dude. You might say I'm overreacting, but I reiterate my post from yesterday. Doing this alone. SUCKS dot com. The lone soldier in my apt, I decided sacrificing safety was not a good plan for the night, even if I did have heat (*but no power at all*) But, like the brave little toaster, I trekked up the pitch black stairs to my place and decided I must train Gracie to attack. Right. hahaha. I can see it now-the attack Cavalier Spaniel.
**************************************************************************
My imaginary movie theater audience was screaming "DONT GO UP THE STAIRS, MORON!" LOL!! :)) As Kelli would say... "We are SO a dateline special right now..."
And.. what the hell is up with Jessica Alba being preggers?! I may not have tv, but I've got internet at work, people.. and I think that's just plain nuts. What is up with knocked up celebs lately? Gah.

The sun will come out....tomorrow?
Hello, Mother Nature, this is Jax. You suck.
Kel and I shacked in Coweta yesterday at one of her friend's places. Since this is the day for a 20something post...and all I can think about is ice...
Dude. I'm not tryin to say I wanna be married...or even have a roommate necessarily. But, uh, having someone who is kinda "required" to be stuck with ya in this weather would be nice. That's all I'm sayin. I have visions of board games, wine, candles, maybe some serious body warmth... Yeah. Granted, it's not romantic when you cant really shower that frequently b/c there's no hot water, but let me have my fantasy. In all seriousness, it would be nice to just not be sitting there...alone...getting frustrated when I cant read my magazine over candlelight. At least I've got Gracie. haha... We entertain each other and I made her participate in a candelit photoshoot...until we left for Coweta. :)
At any rate, so glad to have friends...especially ones like Kelli that join in a nightly nomadic adventure of where we're going to sleep...haha..

For those that don't live here....
It's friggin HORRIBLE here! At least the rain is washing some of it away...
1. 200,000 plus without power (including myself, my mom, my friends, etc etc etc)
2. Kel got the last room at a local hotel last night so we stayed there. I had to drive there after work though...and with no streetlights, it was interesting. It was like..drive...drive...drive... SHIT! TREE in the ROAD!!!!
3. There are trees blocking the door to my apt building walkway
4. My mom and uncle had to leave town to get a hotel b/c there were none in Tulsa. Seriously. They drove to Arkansas for a couple nights. No shit.
5. Little Gracie is so cute in this weather.. She understands, I think. I took her to the hotel last night and she was SO GOOD. No crying, no peeing, just jumped in bed and went to sleep then slept til it was time to leave this morning. :)
6. My apartment has heat (so Gracie is okay there for the day) but no power yet... or hot water.
7. Expecting more freezing rain tonight. :(
8. I've been taking some pics I can post when I get the net back at home.
9. I lost my bank card...and ID.. yeah.. likely somewhere in my dark apt. :( AND all the banks were closed this morning (without power) sooooo I have to try to find somewhere at lunch taht I can write a check and get some cash. I'm carrying my friggin passport around with my 60 cents I have to my name. Awesome.
10. Cross your fingers power goes back on soon. When it gets dark here, it's like the movie "Day After Tomorrow" feeling..
Also, what are people doing getting gas? There are lines cars and cars deep to get gas. I mean. where are they going?! Lol! It's an ice storm, not a hurricane.. Whatever... haha..
Conversation for your enjoyment last night:
*While walking to restaurant near hotel (downtown) with Kelli in pitch blackness and fallen trees everywhere*
Me: "This is weird!"
Kel: "Yeah, well.. we're a friggin dateline special right now..."
That is all. Stay warm, people! :)

Walking in a winter....NOT wonderland...
Dude. My power went off at..um.. 7:30 last night.. also known as the same time the power company was working on the building next door...then LEFT. So, um, yeah, I blame them for this. I called and was told I'd be restored by Wednesday. WEDNESDAY. Now I understand it could be 7-10 days before everyone is restored. *sigh*
So, Gracie and I packed up and headed to mom's. My uncle's in town visiting and I dont mind the sofa, so I took the living room with my dog. The night was one of breaking limbs, falling ice, and um... an oven timer. Yes. You heard me. The OVEN timer was activated somehow..and wouldnt go off. Have you seen the Friends episode of Phoebe with the smoke alarm that wont go off? (See Friend's ep: The One Where They're Up All Night-the video's on youtube). Anyway, it might be the funniest episode EVER...besides the one where Joey wears all Chandler's clothes. Anyway...that was me last night. Standing in a wife beater and pj pants, crazy hair, no contacts, and glaring at the oven...like 2 inches from the timer. When I couldnt get the knob to work, I just started pleading with it...
"Plllleaaaassee stop!"
*Bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz*
"Seriously!!!! It's 3am....." (starting to whine)
*Bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz*
"I dont want to have to wake everyone up." *looking around for some magical oven fixer person* Seeing no one, I glance back...
*Bzzzzzzzz....*
"Damnit!!!" -grabs can of pledge or something..hits oven...breaks face of timer...- "Yes! I fixed it!"
* Bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz......BEEP BEEP...Bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz*
"AGH!!!!!!!!!"
- I woke up my mom...then my uncle...My uncle turned off the breaker to the oven. The buzzing subsided.- I should have thought of that.
I feel really badly that I broke the damn thing. Patience... Patience... Anyway... I heard I still dont have power at my apt. A limb fell on my mom's house, but it's okay.. Friends said chainsaws started in their neighborhoods at like 4am! People trying to stop the damn limbs from damaging property, I guess... The roads arent bad...It's the power lines and the trees that are taking the biggest hit. I made it to work with hardly any problem and I'm lucky my mom had power last night so I had somewhere to go...even if I broke her oven. (Oops)
Anyway, stay warm!!! Cross your fingers that I have power later! I'm becoming a pro at scraping my car. Watch out, bitches! lol!
Last but definitely not least, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY MOM TODAY!!!!!!!! Hopefully the weather will permit us to go to dinner or something tonight! :) YAY BEV!!!!!! I wish I had a pic up here at work to post, but she's awesome! Trust me on that one. :))))

"What's with all the Santas?"
When ice interrupts my dvr, I'm not happy. When ice interrupts the Hills movie that I dvr-ed today about LC, I'm REALLY not happy...Anyway, Jen Bunny and Heidi were in some of the old Laguna shows... Who knew?! Right. You care. Well, I do.
Anyway, Kel, Jennifer and I went out last night...only to be immediately greeted by 25 Santas on Brookside... I didnt ask questions.. esp when a drunk one handed us some broken candy canes. LOL! I wish we could've gotten the whole bunch to be in a photo, but most of them were staggering down to another bar. These two were good sports, though..
Ah.. self portraits... We also took lots of "senior" pictures, but I'll spare you...

Sunday morning, as you all know, we got the "winter mix" they'd advised. I HATE that term.. winter mix... whatever.. Anyway, powerlines were not equipped...as an understatement. Power even went off while I was in line at Target today! Awesome. Oh how I hate not having a garage, too. Ice scraper=my new BFF. Ugh.

Overall, good weekend! :) Saturday, Sarah and I went shopping for dresses...and we found some!! Granted, it took us a few hours, a trip from the mall to Utica...and back again, changing in a storage room (dont ask), etc... but we got em.. ON SALE...and with a "friends n family" discount!! Sarah has connections. ;)
Friday, went to see Awake (with Jessica Alba)... I gotta admit.. We saw it b/c there wasnt really anything else that looked appealing, but it was pretty good.. Not academy award good, but whatev.
Well, that's my weekend.. drunk santas, shopping and Jessica Alba. Oh, and watching Gracie try to pee in the icy weather is hilarious. She kicks her legs up when she walks in the frozen grass and looks at me while she's peeing like "What the hell did you do to me?" lol!

B/c I'm in my 20s...volume 11? I dunno..
So....
1. I believe in working out....so I can ultimately consume more beer when I go out. Not the whole reason, but it factors in.
2. I think Aaron's white t-shirts might be the best things EVER. I sleep in them, bum around in them, and basically love them.. esp the ones with a hole or something. Comfy, worn, perfect.
3. I fall asleep in makeup way too frequently.
4. I'm not embarassed to jump in and play the photo hunt game at the bar-the naked version. Whatever.
5. I believe in name brand foods at the grocery store. I mean.. I'm not buying in bulk so what's the problem with actually getting the "kraft" product? Whatever!
6. I'm starting to really understand the "I want to have kids" thing...like in a realistic non-dreamlike way, but I still cant wrap my brain around why people have more than like...two or three. I mean...that's a lot of mini people!
7. I argue intellectually with my mom, etc about politics.
8. My fridge looks like a science experiment...regularly..
9. I get lonely when I'm in a funk and there's no one physically around to pull me out of it.
10. I'm old enough to HATE the smoke at a bar and even complain about it to friends, but...not old enough to leave b/c of it...typically.
There you go. Randomness this Friday.
Also... my baby Gracie has WORMS! Yeah. TMI. Well, guess what, it was TMI on the friggin puppy pad this morning when she wouldnt go outside b/c of the rain. They were tiny little things. :( Grosso. I guess it's more common than I thought and it happens from ingesting a flea (WHAT?!) I'm fairly certain my vet thinks I'm crazy with the panic I had in my voice when I called. *sigh* Still.. sick. :( I think panic is a reasonable response when your dog has a PARASITE. *Sigh*

Scantily clad women and asbestos
Did you watch the Victoria's Secret fashion show? I dont know what V's secret really was.. but I'm betting it wasn't some of the weird sh*t those models were wearing. That said, it was a pretty good show. Granted, I watched it while eating raw cookie dough and squinting to see the girls' ass cheeks as the camera zoomed in. I was hoping to see a leetle cellulite...or something...*sigh* I was actually quite impressed that most of the models looked fit.. I mean...they were all fem bots, but they didn't look like heroin addicts. So, there's my review. And yes, I dvr-ed it...for a day when I'm feeling crappy and need to feel crappier. LOL!
I havent really felt like blogging about being in my 20s lately. Why? B/c I've been alternating between being in a funk...and being not in a funk. That's all I've got from being in my friggin 20s. I've also had writer's block. So, here's some randomness...
* Even though I have wireless internet at home and a laptop, I get online from the same place on my sofa. Why do I do this? No idea. Whatever.
* I wanna go lighter blonde again. I feel like the dark blonde lowlights make my hair look orangy. It's not a good look.
* I need a cute dress to wear for Lawson's wedding and New Years. Preferably the same dress (to save money, people)
* I'm sad they're officially tearing down the Camelot hotel here in Tulsa. It was a landmark. My parents stayed there the night they got married. Now, I know it's a crack house infested with asbestos and quite the eyesore. However, I always wondered what went on there at night...Anyway, here's an ad from the hotel and a photo of a room after the hotel was abandoned. There's a blog in tulsa called Abandoned Tulsa with some photos from a girl I met through Aaron. We spent (my first) Passover at her home one year. Anyway, google her blog if interested. (double click images for larger viewing)

* I still have a red dot on my chin. Sheez. At least I couldve gotten it on my forehead and it could have looked like a status symbol in some cultures. Gah. Bad joke, but seriously.. I'm out of patience for this stupid thing.
* My uncle's in town this week. He has cute pics of my cousin's babies. :) I shall post some at some point. Last night I kindly reminded my mother that she'd better take care of herself b/c se wont be having grandkids for awhile. (Please note this comment was provoked and I wasnt being a sh*t for no reason)
Yup. That's it. I really want my dog to have a photo with Santa. But, I also want Santa to hold up a menorah and maybe even let Gracie wear the bib I got her that says "My first hanukkah." Really. I did. I think I'm quite funny. Just FYI.
