Staying bronze. ;)

With this whole new "I dont want to wear as much makeup" leaf I'm turning over, I need a good bronzer. Any suggestions? If you dont get the right one, it's either too glittery/shimmery or too heavy...or not heavy enough...Recommendations appreciated. :)

Also...I'm wearing the most adorable headband today....courtesy of CARRIE!! :)) When I was looking for headbands, she directed me to an artist on esty.com. I found one I LOVED but it was gone when I tried to order it. Long story short, she posted it again and Carrie got it for me as a surprise for my vaca! Sadly, it didnt make it in time..but I LOVE it anyway and have already gotten two compliments on it today!! Three cheers for Carrie...and for etsy! :)

Vaca withdrawl

I'm having serious withdrawls, people...

* I want a "coke regular" (said in Spanish) in a glass bottle with a straw. They were SO good in Costa.
* I didnt even blow dry my hair this morning... partly out of defiance that I was back.. I barely put on makeup, too. Vacations make me realize I wear too much makeup.
* I didnt wake to ocean waves...but to my a/c window unit. Blah.
* I have over 200 work emails I'm currently taking a break from answering... (including one that announced my big boss is leaving the company... everyone said I need to vaca more often to see who else will leave..haha)
* I'm picked an outfit to match the necklace and bracelet I bought...just so I could wear them...

Ah... vacation... *le sigh*

After meeting the couple from London, having a friend who might be moving there (LAUREN!!!!!!), and never having been to Europe, I really want to go there next if possible...

I dont plan to leave my job... I love my job... but.. if I ever even change positions, it would be great to take a month off or so in between and vaca for a bit somewhere.. Ahh.. wishful thinking.. :)

Anyway, slept propped on pillows in a kind of half-sitting position.. MADE THE BIGGEST DIFFERENCE EVER. This morning, I didnt cringe or have to grit my teeth as I pulled myself out of bed!!!

Alright...back to checking my emails...with my boring pepsi beside me.. Damn those glass coke bottles everywhere. They're just so awesome. *sigh* :)

UPDATE

Update: One rib definitely broken. It's on my right side...while my shoulder/arm injury is on my left.. Lord. The doctor (well, graduating med school this month) agrees on the broken rib. It pops in and out of place...and if it's "out" of place, it hurts worse. But, I can bend and pop it again and it's alright. Yes, this sounds crazy, but whatever. Its kinda cool that I did it jumping off a waterfall. It only hurts when I'm getting up from laying down or bending to reach for something....and I basically feel like someone took a sledgehammer to my breastbone b/c I think it's bruised pretty bad, too... But, hey... once I get moving, it's alright.

My arm is doing better. Doc thinks I just overextended or did something to the muscle. You'll have to check out the pics where Aaron's like "spread your arms and smile!!" and I try so hard, but my left just wont...I can put my hands on my hips no problem, but straightening the arm and raising it, not so much...

Needless to say, it couldve been A TON worse.. I could have snapped my neck. I'm so stubborn that I just HAD to jump.. *shaking my head at myself* Anyhoo...it hasnt slowed me down though.. Hiked to some deserted beaches today. :)

I really wanted to go horseback riding, but I cant hold the reins b/c my hurt arm is my left arm...aka my prominent hand's arm.. But, its alright. We did the route the horses walk on foot today....as evidenced by all the horse poo.... haha

Well, I just didnt want my last blog to be so dramatic about being hurt and felt the need to update...haha.. :) I just wish the damage couldve all been on one side of my body....

Cant wait to post photos!!!! Headed to a beach tomorrow called Mal Pais to check it out. :) Waves are supposed to be awesome there...and they're about 6 feet here but apparently that's "tiny" compared to surfer's paradise, Mal Pais. Needless to say, I will not be surfing...hahaha...That is ,unless a girl hitting on Aaron does it and I get the jackass idea to show her up again....

Btw...a bull just ran down the street where we were all eating...WHAT?! And..I cant stop feeding the stray dogs....or taking pics of every lizard I see... Whatev. :)

Making this fast...about to dinner at that resort with the doctor couple from the chi. thank got they're docs b/c....

So, we hiked to the top of the fall you can leap into. It was a trecherous hike...very much so actually. It's about a 50 foot jump or higher. Aaron did it. Kat did it. Then, I did it...kinda.. I stood there, on the edge of the rock...and went for it...and

...hit the water chest/shoulder first. Like so bad I came up and thought I was sinking again b/c I couldnt move my body or breath. My breaths sounded like stifled moans instead. Aaron immediately swam to me realizing I wasnt fucking around... I finally started to breath after noisily gasping for quite a bit....

That's when I realized I couldnt move my arm. At all. I tried to climb up the rock and fell back town, with tears in my eyes from the pain. I was seriously about to flip my shit b/c I thought I'd broken something. I was finally able to get up again with Aaron's help. The guy at the top thinks I injured my rotator cuff (?). IN.SANE. Pretty sure I cracked a rib b/c breathing kinda feels like I'm being stabbed...lol!

Yes, I LOL only b/c.... gah... I crack my shit up. I managed to make the hike down with only 3 appendages instead of 4 and took a pic (of course). So, Im hoping my little daredevil and uncoordinated move isnt gonna impact me more than today... But, wow...cliff diving... Amazing, guys... not worth a broken rib and shoulder...but amazing...AND

I GOT A VIDEO.. the guy up top (another tourist) tookmy camera and got a video of me.. you should see the panic in my eyes before I jump! LOL!

Anyway, Kat ended up being pretty chill...although I'd be retarded to think she wasnt slightly hitting on Aaron...which got a little annoying by the end.. Well, not 'hitting on' but more just "you're so sweet...you get points...aww...." followed with "so...um...are you guys like a couple?"

Girls. Lol. Needless to say I wasnt overly disappointed that she was leaving Montezuma today....I really liked her...but...I think anyone would have gotten on my nerves when I couldnt breath or move my arm...hahaah.... :)

Playa Montezuma

Hi hi!!! First of all, thanks for your comments!! I like coming down to the internet cafe when I think people are actually reading. :)

So, the canopy tour was AMAZING. Seriously. We went on the "Original" canopy tour. (They have a place in Jamaica, too, Blaze!!) It included climbing a rotted out tree and two rappels. I got some outstanding pics...One of the tour guides called himself the paparazzi and took pics with my camera the whole time. :) Big fan of him...haha!

So, that night, we had pizza and wine....and went to bed at 8. No kidding. haha... Sooo tired. We caught an express bus (aka air cond minivan) to Montezuma. It was about 6 hrs including van to Puntarenas then ferry over then another van to Montezuma. Montezuma is so amazing we dont think were going to go anywhere else... Can you believe it?! It's a little beach town the locals call "Montefuma" (*and then make a motion like they're smoking*) hahahaha.. It's full of young people, beach bums and surfers...and has a rep for the best night life in the peninsula.

We rode the express shuttle with a couple from Ireland, a couple from Rome, and a couple from Chicago. We've all become awesome friends and hit up the bar/outdoor dance club last night. I went to bed long before Aaron who was having some male bonding time trying to drink the Irishman drink for drink.. (*brilliant idea...right*) hahahaha.. Also met an awesome girl named Kat who works for an organic magazine in AZ. She and I danced the night away and the three of us (her, me and Aaron) are about to hike the waterfalls...Jury's still out if she's as awesome sober. Ill let you know...haha.

We ended up TRYING to hike one yesterday in flip flops (not realizing how far it was) and I totally rolled my ankle.. hot.. haahaha.. Speaking of, we're taking pics of all my injuries as we go. It's funny.. At the lowest waterfall, I wanted to be brave and climb up like Aaron had (which is incredibly hard with the water spraying in your face). I did it, but cut my leg quite nicely..haha.. Whatever...I was so proud of myself though...

On a funny note, I still have problems with the money conversion... like MAJOR problems. I bought a necklace from a street guy last night...When I showed Aaron (proudly), he was like "uh you just paid 30 bucks for that..." Eh well.. I'm contributing to the local artists.. (whatever)

Our little hotel is 60 bucks per night....has a tv and a/c! And they own the resort (ylang ylang) so we get in there for free and get to use the pool, etc.... Our little group is all meeting for a happy hr there later...

And oh...the waves are friggin TALL..I mean... tallest I've ever seen in person. My photos will never do this place justice and I never thought I'd say that. The rip tide is insane so not lots of swimming but lots of "look at me... I'm in the wave...no...I'm drowning!" haha...

You cant make this shit up

So...I made it to Costa!!!!! Free internet where we are and I HAD to tell you all about my flight....

1. I was delayed on the runway in Dallas for 2 hours...thus making my Costa arrival midnight and making me sit next to dateline for about 6 hrs.
2. Who is dateline, you ask? Well...that's the guy who opened converasation with "I live in the Phillippines....I get hookers there for like 20 bucks and they are good ALL NIGHT..." Mind you...he was like 60 and seriously looked like someone from "to catch a predator"
3. He promptly got WASTED with his gallon of vodka he brought...oh..and so did his father...who sat next to him....
4. He then told me.."I'm starting a gay porn site...they're into that you know...mutual masterbation."
5. My eyes were wider than friggin blow up doll's....
6. Oh...then, he spilled my pepsi on me....yes...yes this really happened...
7. Then, he peed himself. Im really not kidding here. He announced it.

I made it here... and dateline t old me his itinerary....so I will NOT be seeing him again. Freak.

Dude. I leave tomorrrrrrrrrow!!! The weather just north of where we're going to be is above 90 degrees... like right now. at 9am. HOLY MOLY. I never found a rain jacket, so.. guess I'll just deal with it. Started to lay stuff out I want to take.. I have no earthly idea. In my backpack, I need to fit: first aid, 7 days of clothes, swimsuits, shoes, beach towel, etc etc etc...

I set my alarm so I dont forget my passport. That would be BAD, but something I would totally do.

Went to Kampai for it's last night open last night. Boo. But, rumor is there's a rooftop bar opening on b-side. Like it! Sad Kampai is closing. It had actually leveled out to be a pretty good place...esp after Jewel took all the meat-heads and fake-id scantily clad girls away...

I dont feel like I'll be on vacation tomorrow. I have all this excitement, but it's weird b/c I cant really equate it with "I will be on a beach by the end of the week..." It's more just randomly placed giddy-ness. No cell phone, no laptop, no makeup.... (well, maybe some lipgloss and mascara...) ;)

My camera holds 600 photos. People, you should be afraid.

Get this... I was driving along...when... all of a sudden... my car (and the others at the 31st and peoria traffic light) were SWARMED with BEES... like hundreds of them! I am SO not kidding!! The guy in the car next to me and I exchanged glances like "WTH?"

Good thing I'm deathly allergic. Awesome. Killer bees and tornados tonight.

Tonight, I finally used a gift card I had to Barnes and Noble. I was waiting to find a book worthy enough... and I think I totally did.


I'm trying to save it for my 9hr trip next week to Costa, but I'm so excited to read it... Maybe this is the book that will get me back into reading...Law school zapped that hobby...Plus, I rarely buy hardback-you KNOW I want to read it. LOL!

My buddy, George Flickinger (weather) is still rambling about wind damage, so maybe I'll start reading now. Oh, great..we're down to one tornado warning and it's in the town of Hulah and Whippoorwill. No, I am not kidding. That means it'll all be over just about when Lost ends. How convenient.

I'm 0 for 2 at the gym this week. Well, I did the butts n guts but the second I tried to hit the treadmill or anything else, I seriously got dizzy and had to leave. WTH?! I think my body is still fighting off the cold I had last week. Bad timing though since vaca is next week. Boo. (*No, I'm not prego and yes I am eating enough good-for-me foods*) ;)

Bad news: Forever 21 isnt opening til mid summer. Cheap accessories shall remain at Target for me. *le sigh*
