Fridays shouldnt be this busy

Busy! But...

1. If I havent written you or called you back about something, I'm sorry. :( I'm slammed at work right now.
2. I am obsessed with chunky necklaces. It's becoming an issue.
3. My doctor said I'm a rockstar! T12th doesnt look like it was really that broken! It's healed THAT WELL! I'll still have arthritis blah blah.. Whatever. The t7 still looks crappy, but is healing awesomely! my doctor said he takes 4 THOUSAND mg of Vitamin D per day! Talked about some interesting studies about it preventing bone cancers.. Anyway. My mobility restrictions were somewhat lifted! HOORAY! I go back in 2 mos for more xrays and a bone density test. Oh and the numbness is normal. It might not ever go away. But, hey, I'm walking and I'm doing great..and it's only been two mos. :)
4. I seem to have beaten my cold! WOO HOO!
5. I'm already thinking I need to get back to work. Sooooooooo...

Happy Bday Mom and 16 things :)

First things first, Happy Birthday to my mom! :) She hates pictures, so finding a couple on my fb while at work was challenging...law school grad and Easter pics below. Odd since my dad was a photag, huh? Anyway...She's such a fabulous little lady and I hope she has an awesomesauce day!

Now, a certain Melissa tagged me on fb, but I'd rather just do it here.. Soo..16 things about me. Ready....GO. In random order...

1. I used to sing "Gangstas Paradise" in my head when I swam long distance in high school.

2. I like to eat uncooked pasta.

3. I've spent a few years trying to find a really cool, vintage-looking jewelry box. Thought about that this morning as I scavenged my apt looking for where I laid my earrings. (aka what I do EVERY morning..haha)

4. Saunas scare me. I'm afraid the door will lock behind me.

5. I want to swim from alcatraz.

6. I want to try cardio striptease/pole dancing. Maybe I can ask my doctor about that today when I go in...haha.. maybe not.

7. Overly pessimistic people aggravate me.

8. I think Queenies tuna salad might be the best sandwich ever invented.

9. I get nervous opening presents b/c I can feel the person staring at me.

10. I can't ever remember jokes. Ever.

11. I believe that clothes and objects can be unlucky/ lucky. Whatever.

12. My swiffer makes me happy. Sad. True.

13. I prefer working in noise to working in quiet.

14. I always see the shops on 15th street and wonder how they stay open...I guess since I dont go in them, I assume no one does. I'm crappy like that.

15. I bring a space heater in the bathroom every winter morning as I get ready.

16. I believe smiling is the easiest way to both change your mood and confuse people.

There was a girl in high school...who I THINK I got along with most of the time. You see, I say "I think" b/c I actually totally couldn't stand her, but she had no idea. Well, she had no idea until, as captain of the pom squad, she backed up the coach on something reaaalllly mind-blowingly dumb (typical..our pom coach wasn't really playing with a full deck sometimes) and I *may* have acted like a total bitch in response...(think: throwing my dance shoes angrily into my bag and mumbling that she was a crappy captain and a suck up). I think she knew I didn't like her very much then. *shrug* She also seemed to think she was God's gift to dancing...and newsflash, but we went to a semi-ghetto high school. We danced hip hop. We weren't world champions.

Ah..to have high school issues..haha. I was less inclined to tell people I didnt care for them back then...so I have a feeling I'd get my ass kicked if I repeated high school these days. Anyway...

I wrote her a fb message saying I saw she moved somewhere really obscure...and a friend of mine (from Tulsa, too) also moved that SAME obscure place! AND, they're both dancers (b/c shocker, but she is now a coach).

And, I actually think they'd get along. Her fb status seems to always say she's lonely, etc, so I thought I was being nice.

This was 2 weeks ago. No response.

The least you could do is write back and say thanks. My theory is supported. I think you might still be a bitch.

Other things:
* It's the year anni of the ice storm's beginning...and look outside. Please note I went to the store yesterday in the event power doesnt go out and have already told Sarah to prepare her guest room in the event it does. haha!

My bad luck panties.

* Somehow both nights I've worn some awesomely cute panties-same pair- (obviously washing between wearing. Sick. LOL!), the night has ended craptastically. Therefore, my theory is that said panties are bad.luck. As cute as they are, they are being donated to the back-of-the-drawer-I'm-not-wearing-you-again pile.

* Did I tell you I broke my sunglasses? As in my FAVORITE sunglasses that have made it through a LOT?! Yeah, the screw was already coming out...and drunken dumbass (that's me) the other night thought "hey, I'll wear these in.the.bar."Dumb. So, I'm gonna be squinty eyed Jax instead of bug-eyed Jax when looking into the sun for awhile. Pish posh.

* The people (i dont know who...) took my blinds at work. They took all our blinds. I dont understand this little game they're playing with my emotions. But, I want my blinds back! I assume they're replacing them. But, now I'm left staring at the HUGE (seriously, the size of my forearm) streak of bird shit running down my window. I mean..it seriously looks like.. okay. Nevermind. But, it's sick.

* I have a meeting in KC most of next week. As much as I like getting the miles, who has a meeting the week before Christmas?! Eh, well..it is what it is. At least I can get some last minute gifts at the Plaza. :) It's much better than the year I had depos in Poteau the week before Christmas. I remember actually contemplating buying someone an OSU beanbag chair. Yeah, options were limited in Poteau, people.

* I'm editing my "hahaha's" b/c I do it a LOT.. And frankly, everything isn't that funny. Just sayin.

* GG tonight. I'm excited. My friend, Mary, and I decided that Golden Girls also have the GG going for them. So, just to be clear...I'm talking about Gossip Girl... but...I'm down with the old women, too. Whatever.

Blogger hiatus

I havent been blogging very much, huh? Sorry... Havent really been in a blogging mood.. (when am I not, right?!) :) I think it goes back to everyone who reads it. Sometimes when a blog isnt anonymous...which is the way I prefer it...you cant write everything...and when you want to vent, that's a problem. 

Things I didn't feel like blogging about and wont add any more details..hahaha..

* I accidentally really hurt a friend's feelings. :( 

* Someone somewhat intentionally hurt mine. :( 

* I had too much to drink accidentally and acted like an ass.hole. No one likes waking up KNOWING they were an asshole, but not really remembering how. 

Anyway, long story short, I dont like feeling like I messed up...EVER. I'm a perfectionist...so when I mess up, I try to fix it...and when I cant, I sometimes mess up worse (think drinking too much and being an asshole). *sigh*  So, then I accidentally create MORE things to fix...Good Gawd. 

Anyway, went to the TU game...and saw us lose. :( Booooo! I finished book three of the Twilight series. My dreams have finally gotten back to normal...but I really want to read book four. *sigh* Jenny, I'm likely calling you about borrowing it sooner than later...haha.. 

I've also decided that I might be allergic to something in my bed. Theory not worth explaining. But, please enjoy the hilarity of me switching out pillows, sheets, blankets, etc... in an attempt to discover. Hmmm...

So, I had to stop reading Eclipse before bed...b/c it was giving my nightmares. I may have brought it to work in an attempt to read on my lunch. FOILED by a conference call. DAMNIT.

On the list of things that excite me... I might be headed to a conference..in SIN CITY..in the spring! Not that I plan on doing much sinning, really... Well *contemplative face*.. haha.. *shrug* Nah, but I've never been there when it's been warm enough to be at the pool...FUN!!! Speaking of, I need to get my ASS in the gym. Stupid broken back. I've lost the desire to actually go to the gym...b/c I'm genuinely afraid of hurting myself again. That was not.fun.(not that it's over...but ya know..not in pain anymore really). And hiring a personal trainer there seems dumb b/c it's $$$ and she cant really help me do much with my back...

Enough whining.

I want to see Britney in concert!! Do you?! Before you respond, are you popping out a child around that time? b/c I think half of you are.... Seeing some of you 7-8 mos prego at the Britney concert might amuse me, but is likely not a great idea. haha! I'll bring you a Brit Brit onesie. ;) I'm thinking of just buying a couple tickets. If something comes up, I'm sure I can sell them... I WANNA GO. *Stomping foot like a child* Part of me is hoping she adds a tour date to OKC or TUL. But, right now, it's looking like Dallas or KC..Hmm..

Why is her tour called Circus? Hmm.. I like it. *mental image of animals, fire, circus rings...and Britney losing her mind in the middle of it all* Yes, decided. I must go to the concert.

..when my dog falls off the sofa and looks really embarrassed. And I cant laugh. B/c she just sits there and watches me.

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Ahh.. Thanksgiving. 2008 has been a crazy year...and I drafted a super mushy "thankful for" blog but then deleted it to replace with this one... I've got a TON to be thankful for this year and I'm reminded of it weekly...often daily. I've got amazing people in my life who check up on me, bring me food, cards, support, etc, when I break my friggin back. I have a great little dog who looks at me with adoring eyes like she's my biggest fan no matter what. I've got a small family, but it's quality, not quantity that matters...and I've got a lot of the former. :) I' have a great job...that makes me happy...in an economy where people aren't so lucky with either of those categories.

Anyway, I'm blessed...esp to have all of you... So, happy Thanksgiving from blog land to everyone out there who's made my year better...even by just a comment on the blogidy. :)

What are your family traditions on Thanksgiving, if you have any? Mom and I took forever to establish a new one of our very own...ya know with our family getting smaller then me going to college...etc.. etc.. But now, we go out to eat and see a movie.. almost every year. I used to want the big, family Thanksgiving we used to have when I was a kid, but I'm okay with our little intimate pair. :) I have plenty of time for the big, family Thanksgiving...and it will likely involve more of me cooking. So, uh, I can wait. hahaha!

Whatever you do or whoever you're with, have an OUTSTANDING holiday!! And...if you're venturing out on Black Friday, may God be with you... lol! :)

Also, I've realized (duh) that I'm a marketing dream.. b/c I may or may not have bought a LOT of little coke bottles....b/c they're shaped like Christmas ornaments. Way to go, Coca Cola. haha....

Tomorrow at work I'll write my "I'm thankful for" post....b/c I think I'll be the only one there...so tonight, I blog about nothingness. Watch the Lost preview. It's awesomesauce. XOXO.

Also, in my ever-avoidance to do anything productive tonight, I researched Hef's new twins..and man alive are they trashy! GEEZ! Bar fights, etc.. SICK. And..they cant write or spell or speak very well. If you're looking for comedy, research them. They're entertainment. Before Hef, they were posing at some fishing tournament by a big fat trout or something. Wow. That's like Maddox and Zahara hitting the jackpot. Yeah, I said that.

Random good-mood-ness

Why today rocks:

1. My boss is taking some of us to lunch from her team.. to a really good restaurant! And I only found out today! SURPRISE! Even better! :)
2. I woke up in an awesome mood despite some "what the hell did I eat before bed" dreams...
3. Tulsa announced Winterfest on the news yesterday! I am SO FREAKING EXCITED! Carriage rides, outdoor ice skating, big Christmas tree...AGHH!!! I'm like a crazy person for big Christmas trees! (it's not that big, but still.. I'm SO PUMPED...It's reaching annoying levels)
4. I finished New Moon. I liked it better than someone told me I would..but only b/c that someone told me about Edward before I read it. If I'd been like "WTF" the whole book, I might have hated it. Excited for Eclipse! :)
5. It's almost the weekend..and it's only TUESDAY!

It's official.

I'm lame.

I was up til 1am reading New Moon and am now 100 pages from the end. And I dreamed about vampires. *Sigh*

I cant WAIT to finish New Moon and start on Eclipse. AND.. prepare yourself..in my ever research obsessed way, I went to stepheniemeyer.com to read part of the draft of Midnight Sun..aka Twilight as told from Edward's perspective. Wow.

Admittedly, I'm excited b/c I haven't seemed to be able to break back into my passion for reading since law school. Maybe this did it. Maybe. *shrug*

And I hear people are either on Team Edward or Team Jacob. TEAM EDWARD all the way, beeotch! (Again, I'm lame.)

I feel like I'm getting a cold. Boo.

It's official. I'm hooked on these damn vampire novels. I saw the movie Friday...and am currently 250 pages into the second book (I SOO think Jacob is a werewolf  btw..but dont tell me). The movie started out a little cheesy..esp the first biology class scene. Not what I pictured. But, when Brandy and I stopped audibly correcting the missteps from the book, we were totally engrossed. And it was a pretty damn good adaptation (considering I read the book only last week). 

After reading reviews, I totally agree with why this pre teen series is such a hit. I mean..you have a romeo/juliet thing.. That ALWAYS works. We can ALL relate to Bella somehow.. (plus I LOVE her name). It's got that hint of completely starstruck romance that couldn't possibly be real...and I LOVE stories like that. Not just the romance...but the fantasy part. I used to read Dean Koontz b/c he often danced on the verge of sci fi. If I wanted to read something dull, I'd pick up John Grisham. Sorry, but I would. I kinda like darker stuff...not SUPER dark (b/c I'm not emo..hello...).  Anyway, critics are right..these books aren't exactly Machiavelli (thank GAWD). 

And good call on putting Edward on the sexiest men alive list. Good.call. hahaha..

DAMNIT. I hate that I cant find the "delete" key on this thing. I know how to delete, but where's backspace? AEHREIUHFDKFN! That's how I feel. 

Just watched Taylor Swift beat Carrie Underwood. This makes me happy. I think Carrie's a b*tch (from what I heard...and yeah, I believe what I hear). And Mariah always looks like she's about to throw down and have sex. Right there. And why does the lead singer of the Pussycat Dolls look leather? Someone needs to tell her to stop tanning. Now. 

Back to my blog. Weekend was good! Friday was the movie then Sat was the OU game. I basically wanted to get outta the house Saturday night, but kinda wished I'd just stayed in..haha... I was kinda waiting on my friends to get out of the NIN concert and when they did, I think they took some angry teenage angst with them....haha... Today, laundry was calling my name.
