Way Back Wednesday and Other Randomness...

It's like 10:45pm.. but it's still Wednesday.. sooo Way Back Wed gets posted!

This was Halloween 2007 and it still makes me laugh how goofy we looked.. We were in homemade "LA County Jail" dresses (aka tshirts with belts and tights and we sewed boas to the bottom). I was Nicole R!chie (hence the prego belly), Maureen was Paris and Kelli was Britney (mainly b/c no one wanted to be L.Loh@n and we agreed Brit was close enough to being arrested to use her). haha... And yes, I am using this as my chance to say... LESS THAN ONE WEEK TIL BRIT BRIT! :) Also note.. my belly was a throw pillow duct taped to my body. That was really fun to take off... *nervous* Fairly certain that was probably the best halloween I've ever had-we had so much fun!
We also made fake house arrest ankle bracelets from mini cereal boxes-we spray painted them black, put a band through them (to wear on the ankle) and then added a flashing light meant for a bicycle.
Okay, soooo other news:

Eric told me about this girl a little while ago, but I actually saw her stuff on fbook today. She started making cute shirts, dresses, etc to wear to football games when she was in college and people loved it so long and short, she's made it a career! Her stuff is SO CUTE!! Kinda pricey, but I can't blame her... Check out a couple TU dresses she made. The first one is hooded. Cute! I wish there was more stuff for fall/winter on there! There are more schools, too... :)

Okay, keeping with the randomness... long story how I found this out, but realized there is a LOT of litigation going on about my birth control, Y@z. (google it. for real). My friend saw one of those ads about "call if you've been damaged by ___ drug.." and told me b/c she's having some of the problems the ad suggested and was a little freaked...Mind you, my little former defense attorney brain is soooo skeptical. People will find anything to sue about. And we all know bcontrol can cause things like clots, pulmonary embolisms, etc, but some of the stuff mentioned re this drug, I didn't know. Kiiiinda makes me wanna call my doc tomorrow and think about switching. Better safe than sorry, right? *shrug* Welcome to my blog of TMI, but just out of curiosity, if you're on or were ever on a pill, what is/was it and did you like it?

The list of bar passers was posted today.. Reminded me of when I found out I passed! I was SO nervous...refreshing the page over and over for hours...seeing the page minimized on my co-attorneys screens when I'd walk in their office (so they were checking, too), finally scrolling to the bottom of the list looking for my name and knowing my friends were doing the same thing (either looking for their own or for mine). Nothing like your passage or failure being announced to everyone the same moment you find out! haha! Anyway, I'm happy for everyone who passed! And I also realized why Sept 6th always kinda stuck out to me... It's not only Eric's bday, but it's the day I found out I passed the bar years ago!! Kinda quirky little coincidence, huh?! I like it. But I know I'm cheesy. Whatever.

I'm leaving you with something cute re: Ms. Brit... her sons dancing to one of her songs as she rehearses. It's super cute. :) Hope you had a great day and have a fabulous Thursday!

Manic...Tuesday?

Okay, so I've been kinda peppy on here and I think it's b/c I've been blogging at the end of the day... Therefore, whatever randomness that occurred through the day has diminished and I'm settled in...watching whatever mindless reality show is on at the moment. ;) I mean.. I'm fairly peppy regularly, but just sayin.... :) I've come to really enjoy settling in on the sofa these past couple weeks and reading all your daily updates since I can't comment throughout the day with all the driving around town I've been doing...

Sooo... I headed back to the office to charge my cell since it's on it's last red bar and decided to blog for a second before heading out again. Some midday randomness:

1. I'm getting over delivering packets to companies. I'm ready to get the show on the road. Plus, a few are super interested... while others smile and nod politely all the while their faces say "okay, thanks.. you can go now.."

2. I've had a few (or 15) dreams where I don't meet my goal and all the local agencies have to shut down or something equally as dramatic. I put pressure on myself...even subconsciously. haha..

3. I think I'm semi cranky that summer is ending. I have no idea why.. It was a good summer! And I love fall/football weather! *Shrug*

4. I want to get away for a weekend, I think... I have a free ticket on Southwest, but I'm really trying to save that for somewhere I REALLY want to go and can't afford at all, ya know. Plus, my schedule for the next couple mos makes taking Friday afternoon or Monday harder than normal.. understandably.

5. My rental car they gave me is.. um.. challenging at times. haha.. The key fab doesn't work. The brakes kiiiiinda squeak. And the child lock on the back door wont disengage. (Picture me crawling over the drivers seat in dress clothes to unlock the door so I can get my materials out of the back. It's comical). And I really don't want to trade cars on the other side of town, so I just deal with it til I get a chance to go out there.. *shrug*

6. Do you use dry shampoo? I've wanted to try it and picked up a travel size at Ulta the other day for like 8 bucks of the Oscar Blandi spray. Oh. My. Gawd. It's amazing, people. It smells good (some others smelled like aqua net.. which uh.. is okay if you're living in 1992 I suppose :)). I didn't wash my hair and wore a hat yesterday, walked around in the heat...and if you're catching my drift, was less than coiffed. okay okay, it was somewhat oily-gross. We decided to go to a bbq at Eric's friends last minute last night and I decided to give the dry shampoo a try. You wouldnt have even KNOWN I had some serious hat-heat-hair just a few minutes earlier! I am definitely going back and buying the larger spray! If you have thick hair, you likely don't understand how happy this product makes me.. haha... If yours is fine and straight like mine, you will love this!!! I've heard Bumble & Bumb!e has a good one, too...

That's all I've got! Oh and SYTYCD starts TOMORROW!!!!! Oh how I love watching people get their tickets to Vegas... I get too excited about television. Just sayin. Hope you're having a great day!

AND! Britney is ONE.WEEK.AWAY. That actually just got me a little excited as I typed it.. haha! Wow. Okay, off to deliver packets and change lives. Lates.

Long Weekend Recap!

Happy Labor Day! Didya know Eric was born on labor day and was on the news for it as a newborn? His mom said they asked her something cheesy-ridic like "How does it feel to be laboring on labor day?"haha.. Really quickly, while I'm on this.. have you ever heard of a gender party? If not, here's the gist. Someone I know had one. I'm sorry if I offend anyone here, but I think it's kiiiiiinda odd. 1. I wouldn't want to find out the gender in a room full of people. 2. What if the bakery messes up? *nervous* 3. Gender often refers to culturally created roles and sex refers to biological differences between men and women (thank you, sociology minor). Okay.. Well then, shouldn't it be called a sex p@rty? (*really just made myself laugh*) I'm not judging here. And if you have one, that's totally cool. I think I could see it more for immediate family than some huge hoorah with tonsa friends and stuff, ya know. Whatever. *shrug*

Sooooo...I already blogged Saturday and from there, here's weekend recap! :)

Saturday, I surprised E with the massage midday then dinner at the new McG!lls on the 19th floor out at the H@rd Rock! My reservation was for the patio...b/c it was supposed to be finished this week and have 7 ft glass walls to block the wind, etc. I thought sunset would be super pretty! Welp, the patio wasn't finished.. No biggie!! So, I booked a reservation at his fav, Stonehorse! Then, when he got sick, I thought Stonehorse's rich menu miiiiight be too much so back to McG!lls my reservation went. haha! We still had a great view... lookie how pretty! See those little shot glasses in between us? That was a little thing they brought us to start our meal.. some little fruity shooter thing! MMmmmm!!! Eric properly classified it as tasting like a fruit rollup. :) I was just glad he was feeling better enough by Saturday to enjoy some food. We didn't, however, order the 19 layer (yes, I'm serious) chocolate cake on this trip. Eh, next time!
Happy official birthday on Sunday!! :) (Note I'm wearing the scarf again. I think I'm in love with it.) This is self-timed on the camera while Eric figures out how to sync my gift... an Apple TV! He was so surprised!! YAY!!!! I tend to give the gift early or totally ruin the surprise. So, I mentally patted myself on the back the second he made an obviously shocked (in a good way) face.. :)
His bday gift last year... I got him a clock made from recycled bike parts for his office in his house. I thought it was eclectic. (I also had a limited idea what to get him since we were in that "just started dating and I dont want to freak him out but want to get something" place). lol!

He likes the clock....
...but he loves the apple tv! haha! :)
I love birthdays! And he'd done such an excellent job making me feel special on mine, I really wanted to do the same for him. I have to admit I got a leetle cranky at one point b/c I just wanted him to feel better so we could celebrate his birthday...haha.. And I think he was a little cranky at one point too b/c being sick sucks..esp around your bday. Just glad he was better enough to enjoy the weekend!

Sunday DAY we were gonna head to Jenny's for some friend time, but got sidetracked watching Gran Torino. Dude. That movie is SAD. I ended up bawling my eyes out. Maybe not the best movie on someone's bday.. just sayin....

Dinner with his fam at Ch@rlestons. Apparently this is his birthday dessert pose? No idea.. haha..(his sis and her boyf are in the background.) :)
mmmmmmmmmm.....
All in all, a great weekend! I got to hang with Blaze who I hadn't seen in way too long, see TU kick some @ss, celebrate with Eric, and get some stuff done around the casa!! :)

Today, I definitely was randomtown usa. I have plenty to do, but opted to go drive around looking at houses for sale even though I think I've realized that might not be the best plan right now. So I was being productive. *eye roll at self* Then, I got discouraged and decided I'd go home. I took one look at my black rug covered in puppy fur and was like "that's it. no more." Soooo... I promptly went to Lowe's and bought a cream-colored one where G's white fur wont be so obvious and I won't feel like my living room isn't furry. :)

Love me some long weekends that's for sure! Hope you watched some football, hung with friends and/or family, had some pool time...whatever your fancy to enjoy the weekend! :)

Oh and yeah.. I changed the layout again. I get bored after awhile. :) I know none of my friends (or myself) love the pic of us at the tailgate, but I didn't have another recent one of all of us. So if you're in the photo and reading this...I just made it small and plan to take a better one maybe at Brooke's baby shower next weekend to plug in that spot. Love love.

Happy Saturday!!

I hope everyone is having a great weekend already! I'm playing catch up on my dvr after running some errands...and I'm blogging. (Obviously).

BEST NEWS!! Eric is doing better!!! So I only had to cancel one thing really. Plans had to be a little altered, but it's totally fine! I surprised him with a massage today from M@rilyn Ihloff! YAY! He'd never had one (which really surprises me since his sis is a massage therapist) Anyway, I think he's a believer now. Gawd, I love massages...and am glad he loved his. :) The original plan was to give it to him this morning after his shindig with his friends last night as a little bit of relaxation after an anticipated longer (but fun) night! But, since we canceled the night with his friends, I just drove over there today and surprised him!! I'd told him we were doing something, but didn't tell him what. He was SO funny.. He was like "Um.. is it too strenuous?" (since he'd been sick). I had to fight laughter when I was like "No, you don't need to worry about that..." I was pretty impressed with pulling off the surprise! I'm not giving him his gift til tomorrow though on his real bday! Today was just for fun!

While he was getting rubbed down, I ran some errands and milled around Utica. (I didn't book one for me-both to save cash...but also b/c I'm still a little weird about it after my broken back last year). LOOKIE what I found at Gap!!!!! It was on sale for $15!!! A gold and blue scarf!!! (If you're confused or not from around here, those are TU's colors!!) And yes, I really did immediately put it on!! I can't wait to wear it to a football game! Speaking of, did you see TU's win last night on ES*N?! I fell asleep on the sofa for the first half (oops) but then headed to Blaze's where she had a small group over to watch the second half. Fun stuff! :) My mom actually went down there to the game.. so jealous!
Oh and here are some pics from my (regular job, not UW) co-worker's house the other night from that cookout I went to! She's our event planner at work and an amazzzzzing cook-see spinach artichoke dip as example.
These are actual candles on top of the bottles! How cute, right? :)
She hand painted that design on her wall.. hello awesome....
Had to make some adjustments to dinner stuff tonight, but I think my recovering boyfriend will find something good to eat for his bday dinner at the place I picked!! I love long weekends....*happy sigh* Now, back to Project Runway...xoxo!

TGIF, An Award and Other Randomness!

First things first, I have to thank Annie over at Chapters of Our Life for awarding me the MEME award! :) She's so full of life and has become a daily read on my blogroll! :) Pop over and say hi! I have to admit...months ago, I wasn't sure what to think of these award things. I was kinda confused and also wanted one all at the same time...haha... Anyway, I've definitely concluded they're fun-especially to break up the monotony of my rantings. ;) So, thanks so much, Annie!!!!!

So, without further adieu, here are the rules!

List 7 personality traits...
Pass onto 7 other bloggers who deserve...
Recognition for the personality they share...

So here goes:
1. Passionate. I need (not want, need) to find my passion in almost whatever I'm doing-writing, working, relationships, etc. Understand I'm not passionate about everything I do-hello, that'd be overkill. ;) But, finding my passion in something definitely fuels my desire to achieve at it...and my happiness.
2. Ambitious. I like a challenge, peeps. Not all the time at every turn.. but I like to feel like I'm working toward something.
3. Empathetic. This can sometimes be to a fault, but I still love it about myself and never want to lose it.
4. Sincere. I like to think that although I CAN be fakey (hello, we're women. We know how to be fake), I definitely hate it and would rather not waste my time on such nonsense. That means my sometimes admittedly- cheesy-sorority-clapping-excitedness... is real, people. It is. Deal with it. ;)
5. Outgoing. Duh. (This is not to say I don't get all only-child-leave-me-alone sometimes... Just sayin.)
6. Sarcastic. I like wit. A lot. That said, sometimes I deal with uncomfortable situations with sarcasm (anyone else do this?).
7. Stubborn. I am. I realize it. I try to work on it. haha.. (I like how I put a negative one last.. haha.. I'm a sh*t.)

Soooo now I'd like to award some of you!!! :) I tried to pick an eclectic mix of people who blog lots and people who blog less than my daily ramblings..haha..Also wanted to pick some peeps I hang with and some peeps I've met over blog world! And I picked 8. Whatever. It's my blog. I can do what I want. XOXO!
Mrs. EyeCanSee over at The Juice Is Worth the Squeeze!
Stacia over at Stacia and Jacob!

Also if you think about it, pop over to Then I Got To Thinking and wish Tracy a fabulous wedding weekend! I've really enjoyed reading her blog and getting to know her lately and this weekend she ties the knot!!! :)

In other news, today was LONG people. LONG. I had a pounding allergy headache alllll day and wasn't really in a mood to be all "Wanna donate? Do-ya? Huh? Huh? Do-ya? Why? Please!!!!" haha.. Okay, it's not like that, but ya know. Anyway, get this.. I got an email from that acct from yesterday who said they weren't campaigning and...THEY CHANGED THEIR MINDS! It made my entire afternoon and totally rejuvenated me!! And I can't tell you enough how much my little subgroup of LEs (loaned ex#cs) ROCK. We have an absolute blast together and I'm really lucky that I find so much joy in the people sitting all around me. I wish I could share some of the funny moments we've had, but it would be like those moments you try to re-tell a story and no one else thinks it's as funny.. haha...We're all really pumped to see some of this hard work on the front end start rollin once things are in full swing.

Soooooo Eric's sick. Like off work, needing to rehydrate, planted on the sofa, running a fever.. sick. *sigh* He thinks it's food poisoning :(. I kept teasing him about the swine flu but I was seriously saying a prayer that he didn't have it. I don't think he does.. the onset was too fast.. and it seems to be subsiding. I took him some stuff tonight-j@mba juice and pedialyte. I dont care what you say-pedialyte is amazing when you're that sick...whether it's for kids or not.

Anyway, we had to cancel his bday dinner with his friends for tomorrow. :( Even if he's better, celebrating will likely not be what he feels like doing. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do a dance, say a prayer, do whatever you feel..in support of him being better tomorrow/Sat. I have some bday stuff planned (he reads this sometimes, so if you know what it is, please dont comment about it...xoxo) for Saturday and am going to make the call on whether to cancel it or not. I really don't want to, but if it can't be helped, it can't be helped. It's not like this is his fault. We'll still have fun...even if it's just renting a movie. :)

Here's hoping whatever you have planned for the long weekend brings you fun, relaxation, whatever you intend! Here's also hoping Friday fuuuhlies by, right?! (and uh... lets also hope the H1N1 stays clear of both Eric and me.... Yeah. That should have been the first hope. haha...).

Bring on the long weekend...

Alright, peeps.. I'm tired but I have this compulsion to blog. I think it's a sickness really... *nervous* haha.. So...list.

1. Bday event for my regular job's VP tonight at a co-worker's house. Fun stuff! I was so tired but glad I went.... It can't hurt to keep my existence in the line of view since I'm coming back eventually. Plus, seeing everyone was pretty fun! :)
2. Today was weird... I've decided morning meetings blow @ss. Blunt, but true. I was told my morning comp. may or may not run a campaign this year. *sigh* And it was raining. And I had huge bags of campaign materials I was juggling so they didn't get wet. It was funny..er..kinda..
3. Afternoon was MUCH.BETTER. Sun was out, my afternoon meetings were awesome!! However, walking into a company I once applied at was weeeeird! haha! When I left the firm, I applied at a local company in compliance or something and had walked my resume in... I didn't realize it was the same place til I walked in there again today and laughed to myself. (They never called me for an interview btw. Funny stuff. Their loss!! :)) Anyway, I think people are nicer in the afternoons? Eh? I think so.
4. I may have bought the darker shade of Jerg*ns natural glow lotion today. Don't judge me.
5. I won a hula hooping contest at work today! Well... we have these things where we have generationally themed events to raise money, etc... Today was the 50s and I am a hula hooping rockstar. (Care to challenge me?) ;) I remember I hula hooped for over 25 minutes in middle school in a D@RE contest. I won. Duh. Have you ever tried those weighted hoops? They're supposed to be a workout? They seriously just make me feel like I'm breaking bones the whole time I'm hooping. Just sayin.
6. Ever since I realized the birds at the airport were fake (the loud squawking noise they play to scare away pigeons... I fbooked about this and many of you commented in agreement that you didn't know they were fake either-thank you!), I have noticed the fake tweets EVERYWHERE. Case in point.. a local business also has the fake birdy pa system. It's so freaking weird. STOP THE SQUAWKING! haha! (I may have taken a photo with my phone. Whatever.) I suppose it's better than being crapped on by pigeons while you're walking. *shrug*

I will be in bed before midnight. I will be in bed before midnight. I will be in bed.... Have a great Thursday, everyone!!

WBW!

Yes, I know this was just last year...but... since this photo from left to right..

Sara had Landen! Brooke's shower for Baby K is in two weeks! Kat's baby, Nate turned one! I cut my hair. (LOL). And Jenny had Maddox. Yes, those in fact are some changes in a nutshell. I know more has changed than that, but I just thought it was funny that I'm the only baby-free-zone in this particular photo. It made me laugh. :) My friends have been blessed with such beautiful babies and it's amazing how much has changed in just a year! It makes me smile. :) And their babies might not know it, but I've got their little baby backs 200%...Aunt Jax loves those little peeps like I love the peeps in this photo. :)
Sooo today was long. I started with a meeting at a local company where I ran into my butts n gutts teacher.. lol! It was one of those awkward "uh, I promise I'll come to class again someday" moments... She's cool, though and said it's like running into the priest after you skipped church.. People avoid her.. Comedy. Anyway, from that large presentation, I headed to the office for some phone calls. Joined a small group headed to lunch downtown-Mmmmm Billy's. :)

As I was sitting there, Eric walked past with his coworker! ha! So funny, awesome and also bizarre to run into each other at lunch now! I think my coworkers were surprised I didn't run after him like "hey! Hey!!!! lookie! I'm here!" I was in heels, people. I called him instead from where I was sitting. We were able to catch up and say hey. Cute. Me likes. :)

Had to deliver some packets after lunch. One address was wrong so I walked into the wrong business (haha). One didn't have a front desk...so I walked aimlessly through the office til I found someone. *awkward* Whatever, I went with it! One is in bankruptcy and humored me but then took the packet and said "Good luck with the campaign!" (that's code for 'we're not donating' I think). Two more were SUPER receptive!!! YAY! However, one of those has experienced some layoffs...sad.. So, I dont know if people are in a really giving spirit. I honestly didn't realize how many layoffs Tulsa had experienced with this economy.. But I dont wanna be a downer here.

Anyhoo, on another note.. Eric's bday gifts are WRAPPED and ready!!! I'm so excited! I am horrible with waiting to give someone a gift. I want to just give it to them when I buy it!! I can wait til Sunday, though! (I'm repeating that in my head.. I can wait. I can wait.). :) Thanks so so so much one more time for the awesomesauce cooking advice!!!! I'm so excited (and now likely wont blow up the kitchen thanks to you guys. seriously. It was a possibility.). Have a great Wednesday, peeps!

14 DAYS!!!!!

First things first, ya'll are AWESOME (in true okie form, I used "ya'll"..Dont judge. ;)) Thanks SO much for the cooking advice, recipes, etc...From eggs in the middle of pancakes (I kinda love that) to gravy recipes and more, I'm excited to figure out what I wanna do!! And I'm totally gonna blog a Way Back Wed later so this post is just random, but...

Second....My friend, Julie, put this on my fb page and quickly became my favorite person of the day. :) FOUR.TEEN.DAYS. I don't care whether you like her singing or not...gotta admit she's an awesome performer and the concert is gonna be fab!!!

So, I had to share. Watch it. Love it. Watch it again. XOXO. (Warning: there's some cursing at the beginning...just fyi if you're at work, ya might not blast it.)

Marvelous Monday? And cooking advice needed!! :)

So, walked in and had a daily memo (I'm assuming it's daily..haha???), and it's called Marvelous Monday.. Must admit, it kinda made me smile. I yell expletives at my alarm am not especially a morning person ;) but I respond well to positivity... so there ya go. (caveat: unless I'm especially cranky...b/c then I'd just make fun of this memo's title in my head). But today, I liked it. ha. Did you have a marvelous Monday?

My Monday was pretty good, but long. Just some of what we're doing right now leading up to the D@y of Caring (formal kickoff) is delivering campaign packets to the local companies..b/c some want to get started now..and that way we already have quite a few rolling already. a LOT actually. Here are just a few...like 6 or more per bag (one per company including pledge cards, etc). These bags are everywhere and packed full! Then, once I get a hold of someone at that company who is running their campaign, I set up a time to deliver the packet and have a personal meeting.
Today, I called prooooobably too many companies to count. My personal fav was the "Ma'am, are you aware we're in bankruptcy?" (it's a given, people.. you know who I'm talking about.). I said "Yes! I just wanted to give you the chance to donate like other local companies should your employees desire to..." I ended up getting a meeting with him, but man alive..that's about how my morning went. *sigh* It.was.tough. Call after call..attempting to start each one with a fresh smile and perspective. But, I after lunch, almost every call was positive and really enthusiastic about the campaign so that helped! Picking up queenies for lunch (an awesome local deli) also helped. I ended up getting meetings for the bulk of the next couple days!! Hooray!! :)

Side note: I'm still getting used to my schedule n stuff, but if you work downtownish and want to grab lunch, lemme know b/c I'd love to in the next few weeks! I'm not used to being in that area for lunch! :)

So, have you ever had a day where you dressed for work and thought "day-yum.. this is a good combo!" and been really proud of yourself? haha! I had one of those days.. Banana dress. Cute belt. Button down under the dress. Cute necklace. And ballet flats. I was impressed with myself. Come on.. tell me you do this in your head sometimes too. (??) :) I'm usually too half asleep to think about adding a cute belt to a dress, etc.. but this whole laying clothes out the night before is really working wonders for my style.. just sayin. ;)

Speaking of nighttime, as Gracie and I headed to bed last night, she looked at me..and I looked at her...and said "aw crap" when we realized my comforter was still.in.my.car. (No, my dog didnt talk, but yes, I think she understood me). Arg!! haha! I'd taken it to be cleaned and forgotten to get it out of the car. And I'm not a fan of fumbling with a large item in the dark and my keys in my pjs.. soo..in the car it was going to stay. I ended up waking up wrapped bizarrely in my sheet, a chenille throw and a winter blanket I'd retrieved from the closet shelf around 3amish when I stumbled to the hallway sleepily and freezing. Good gosh.

This is random. Sorry. Staying with that theme.. did you know Wolfgang P*ck's place is coming to TULSA?!!!!! Apparently I need to watch the news more. For real. How awesome is that?! (For those of you not in Tulsa, you'd be surprised to know we're actually a test market for a lot of companies..for reals.. I promise I'm not blowing smoke here.. haha). There's a new wrinkle for your brain or something. :) On that note, Harrison Ford's son opened a restaurant here a couple years ago. It failed. But, whatever. It was here.

Okay, blog friends, I need your help here!! I want to cook Eric breakfast on Sunday morning (aka his bday!) He knows about this so there's no surprise ruined if he reads this post. That said, I want it to be good!! And I don't cook breakfast that frequently..b/c well.. a cereal bar is easier than anything else when you live with your dog. *shrug* So, here we go. Help needed! Tips! Advice? Thoughts? Recipes? I want it to be fairly simple: eggs, bacon, yada yada.. What I could REALLY use help with is something unique (whatever you recommend) with any part of a breakfast dish or maybe a potato thing (we LOVE potatoes.. who doesnt, right?) or recipe for sausage gravy or something!! Your thoughts are welcome!!

Hope you had a "marvelous Monday" :) I also kinda hope we have a Tuesday memo so I can see what adjective they use for it... haha! ;) Lates, lovelies!! XOXO! AND HAPPY SEPTEMBER!! I cannot believe it's already September!!!!!!!! Whoa! (Dont mistake this post for excitement about that.. I'm unsure whether I'm ok with summer being almost over already...but I do love me some fall). :)

Weekend Recap!

Hope everyone had a fantabulous weekend! I feel like it was way short for some reason... *shrug* But, it was good. No complaints. :)

Let's see... Friday was our own office's campaign kickoff... Yup, our own UW office has a campaign for employees! Our goal is $77,000 and we're already at over 35! Awesome! We went to a local Y for lunch and then headed to @ndy B's (formerly Riverlanes) :) Now they've got bowling, glowbow and go carts out there. :) I didn't take a TON of pics b/c there weren't a ton of opps to make people smile pretty for my camera, but here are some...

A couple other LEs (Loaned Execs)
They played our 2009 video on the screens at the end.. and I took a zillion a few pictures. :)
Here are some other LEs! :) Ranging from @rvest bank to Qu!kTrip to On#ok.. :) I dont know why I look so short here.. We all look kinda awkward actually...haha..
Good times even though I'm a horrid bowler. If you haven't signed up for a D@y of Caring project (Sept 11th), you should consider it. It's not too late and it's a great way to give back to your community! :)

Friday night, had a dinner with some high school friends. :) Leslie and I thought it'd be fun (it was) but we had no idea it would balloon up to 20 or more people...at Los Cabos (where you cant make reservations). Kinda chaotic at first, but fun.. Glad I got to sit next to peeps I love chatting with (as opposed to the peeps I don't talk to as much) b/c after a busy week, I wasn't feeling overly social butterfly...

After dinner, I met up with Marla at Bru House where we realized weirdos were on.the.prowl. Sick. We sat down and started chatting and WHAM-immediate uninvited guest sits at our table. (Side note.. I think that is SO rude... Don't just SIT DOWN at girls' table.) From there, he proceeded to not take our hints, show us his multiple tats of his child's photo (yes, for real), repeatedly offer cheesy lines and conclude with asking for legal advice. Wow. We left that place and headed somewhere else but still decided to head in early after some over-served female repeatedly shouted lyrics to baby got back (we were over our attempt at a low key, girly night. haha..).

Saturday night, Eric and I finally headed to Canebrake!! We'd be trying to go forever, but have seemed to have something every weekend...or haven't felt like driving all the way out there. It's past Wagoner by Ft. Gibson lake and is also a resort offering yoga, trails, etc. The food at the restaurant is supposed to be amazing! And it was! The service was also fab fab fab!!

Ahhhh...finally.. a night where we're not rushing to be somewhere else, etc. :) It was nice, people, really nice. :)
We were STARVING so the bruschetta appetizer didn't last very long.. but I managed to take a quick pic. :) Yumtastic!
I ended up devouring my salmon and forgetting to take a photo, but whatever. It was pretty...and it was good. The latter is really all that mattered at the moment.:)

If you're in the area and looking for something different, upscale..and dont mind the 45 min drive (depending where you're located in town), I recommend Canebrake! Make a reservation though b/c it fills up. :) After apps, dinner, dessert and a glass of vino...plus an hr drive home, we were ready to just head home and chill....and that we did. Watched Entourage from last week and said goodnight to the world. Great Sat night. :) AND!! AND!! I almost forgot! We saw deer!! I know it's so weird that I live in OK and haven't ever seen a live deer, but we saw a little family!! SO CUTE!!!

Saturday DAY, I headed to the mall on a mission. I had some coupons about to expire and needed some work pants for the UW gig. Working at a jeans office hasn't really grown my office wardrobe that much. I buy a cute summer skirt here or there, but rarely any more dress pants or business skirts. Therefore, with a 2 month gig at the UW and lotsa presentations, I knew I'd be hurting and needed to buy a couple pieces. Bring on the Limited!!! (I heart the Limited...*happy sigh*)

Check out the cute skirt I got... (the lighter one in the pic). It'll be great right now AND when it gets cooler with tights and boots!! Then, I got these pants that are a super cute small houndstoothish pattern. AND Limited's pants were all 39.50-MAJOR SALE. Add 50% off any skirt (thank you coupons) and I was pretty happy with my purchase. :)
Then, I still can't decide on these.. I had a gift card to Francesca's from my bday and saw these jeans...and fell in love! I love them on, too! (they're darker than they look).BUT, they're regular length. They're REALLY long for a regular..but I always think that til the washer eats an inch from the bottom. Arg. Oh and the little long sleeve t shirt is 6 bucks at Target right now. Go. Seriously. :)
Today, I headed out to Tulsa Hills shopping center...which I think I'm becoming addicted to. It's like a little one stop shop, people. I milled around Belks, ran an errand at Target and had my eyebrows done at Ulta. I had to advertise here.. Ulta is having $10 brow waxes til Sept 5th! That's awesome!! I mean.. I usually only pay 15, but that's still a huge discount! All in all, I saved some serious cash this weekend between sales, coupons and gift certificates!
Dude. Random but my airbrush tan is exfoliating in some weird places. *nervous* haha! For real. I nearly clawed off my neck in the shower today attempting to rid the weird coffee stain going on before work tomorrow. Whatever. (I'm still glad I did it). I'm also slightly addicted to J!rgens N@tural Glow lotion now. Some friends who I thought either laid out all the time or spray tanned...use only that! Actually, they use the W@l-Mart brand b/c they said it smells and works better than jergens. *shrug* Who knew?! ha! I got Jergens though and put it on before bed b/c the smell bothers me and I don't wanna deal with it all day...so regular moisturizer after morning shower..and jergens at night. But it really does work. Fact.

Omg.. speaking of smell... I sprayed some random perfume on myself at Sephora yesterday and didn't think about it. The rest of the day, I kept sniffing my wrist and thinking "I smell goooooood! I need that stuff!" haha... And now I have no idea what it was. Arg. It was their "number two pick" or something... What's your fav perfume if you have one? :)

You know what next weekend is, peeps? Eric's birthday!!!!! I'm so excited and hoping my gift really surprises him! Cross your fingers!

So, tomorrow at work starts the real thing...We start calling our companies and meeting with people etc. I'm nervous!! Gonna leave you with dessert- a pic of our fabulous chocolate mousse thing from the Canebrake! Mmmmmmmmm.... Hope you all had a great weekend! :)

I think..

I think...

...wine and girlfriends can solve almost any bad and/or long day (almost).
...finding a dollar/5/10, etc.. in your coat pocket from the winter before is like winning the lottery
...I'm a nicer person if I'm able to have a morning pepsi
...I'm becoming a mac person
...shunning bars/restaurants for being loud, smokey, etc etc..is a hilarious new categorization of places I never though of while I was in school
...it's weird getting older, but it's nice not getting the "no way.. you're too young" when I say I'm an attorney
...those e-trade commercials with the babies are the most hilarious things on tv ever
...blogging makes me more sane (if that's possible..haha)
...my dog and I understand each other
...visiting the UW agencies this week has forever changed my life
...Heidi Kl*m is awesome (currently watching Project Runway)
...the way Eric and I get along and entertain ourselves together is probably one of my favorite things in the whole world
...waiting to fix my heels til they make that annoying tapping sound is perfectly okay (annoying though)
...I want another spray tan..b/c my other one is wearing off in some weird places..lol!
...this week, while rewarding and challenging, has felt like TWO!
...I should definitely get to bed earlier next week.
...raising over 5 million dollars ALONE through my assigned companies in less than 70 days is going to be the most challenging and rewarding thing I've ever done...law school included.
...I will take my camera to our kickoff event tomorrow so you can see some peeps and stuff!! :)

Have a fabulous weekend, everyone!! Sorry I haven't been the best commenter this week. Once I get into a better schedule, I'll be back in action! XOXO!

WBW!

Dude. I forgot it was Wednesday! I mean... 100% forgot. I totally thought tomorrow was Wednesday.. Sheesh. Well, I suppose that's a pleasant surprise... *shrug*

So, here's a WBW from Chicago in winter of November of 2007! I love love loved the snowman...on the beach....holding what I think was a beer can.. I dont remember. No, I didn't make it. :) I actually remember taking the scarf wrapped around every inch of my face (except my eyes) off for this picture... haha! Fairly certain it was a crisp 5 degrees or so... *agh*
So, I promise to blog more tomorrow, but here's today in a nutshell.. I got my assignment at the UW.. and it's a GREAT one! I got en*rgy!!! That's so awesome!!! I went to my first function tonight actually and I wish I could write who it was an how much they raised b/c your eyes would pop. All the accounts are great, but I really love mine!!!! I was shocked when they announced me for this one since it's so large. Love a challenge so I'm up for it and pumped! :)

Friday, we have the launch of our own campaign and are headed out for a day of fun.. bowling...go carts...etc.. I'll take some pics so you can see my new loaned exec family for the next couple mos! :) We also have "jeans Fridays" which we pay for (all for the UW of course) :) but it's so funny to me since I now work in a jeans office full time in my regular work life so jeans Fridays are kinda quirky to be thought of as a "treat." :) Love it though.

Okay, I'm rushing through this b/c I am soooo tired and have a lot to do since I had that event tonight-laundry, cleaning, dvr watching.. Ya know.. obligations of life, people. ;)

Hope you had a great hump day! (Ps I totally didn't know what that meant til...um... like late college. Wow). And I noticed I have 50 followers! That's kinda fun!!! Thanks, everyone, for stopping in on my roaring twenties and saying hello or becoming a follower!! Loving reading all your bloggage, too! (bloggage should so be an actual word. just sayin). Someone asked me what I'd call it when I turned 30.. I had a clever answer I'll spare you from, but needless to say I have a couple years to think about that one....haha!

Peace *picture me throwing up a peace sign and pursing lips* Lates!
