I need an intervention.
Actually, the kids meals toys have been moved. Extra papers have been tossed and I'm left with a pepsi and some folders. Not bad, me thinks! The post-its have been tossed. I tend to have a problem with creating "reminder" post-its. I put "reminder" in quotes b/c they dont remind me of anything. They just take up space and make me look like I collect yellow squares of paper.
Went out last night with the bar takers for awhile. Let me start with...I'm so sorry that I put my friends through that. LOL! They were all "I failed... I know I did..." Post tequila, they were saying the same sentence, but with a smile... I particularly remember running into Brooke at Brookside Bar and her saying "Um.. have you eaten recently?" and I jubilantly responded "Nope! I will.. but I need to drink..a LOT...first!" She laughed and said "Okay, sounds good..."
I've been intercepting the security guard when I hear her walking around closing blinds at 1pm. I hurry and close mine, then open them when she leaves. Today, I'm going to be defiant. That is all.
Panera pisses me off today. I got cream of chicken and wild rice soup. Trust me..it's not CREAM of anything. It's water. I didnt realize it til I got back to work. *sigh* So, I'm eating my french baguette and am unhappy about it. Boo.
I didnt watch SYTYCD last night (out with the bar takers), so I have to watch two in a row tonight. Yes, I'm serious. I also think Big Brother is on tonight. I am so pumped to leave work, lay on my sofa, and not.move. until oh...bedtime.
Conference call in 15 minutes.. Thank God for outlook b/c I totally forgot...Peace.
UPDATE: It's been 15 minutes. People that are late for conference calls should die. That is all.

Hump Day
Here's my August:
Next week: New Orleans/Baton Rouge
the NEXT week: Dallas
the next week: plan for Arkansas
the next week: Hot Springs
the next week: Kansas City
Hello. You Fool. I'm busy... (come on join the joy riiiiiide)...
Let's see. The bar exam was done for Aaron yesterday. He just had the essays. He is of the opinion that he did alright. I will leave it at that. The Oklahoma kids are done today and I will be meeting them for a beverage after the test. :) Texas and California are done tomorrow. Too. LONG.
Did you know: the earthquake hit during the bar exam in CA yesterday? Didya? Yep, it did. And, here's the best part.. they get NO extra time. When we had a tornado warning here in Tulsa (story I heard), the takers got no extra time. They took their tests under the table for cover and continued working.
Sad, but I would have done the same thing. Once you're in there, I'll risk being blown away in a twista ;) over failing that exam for losing time. Not. worth.it.
What else? Well, I finally went to the grocery store yesterday. I say finally b/c it's been an insane amount of time...like so long that I'm tired of eating out. Yeah. I buy snacks n stuff but havent been "big grocery shopping" in forever.
Big Brother and I are becoming friends. I cant explain it. The whiney blonde annoys me. So does the meat head. Memphis cracks me up.. He goes APE SHIT out of nowhere over nothing. I like his violence. It adds to my entertainment. I hope he beats someone up soon.
I have become obsessed with kids meals-esp Sonic Wacky Packs. What is my problem? I have two toys on my desk at work that have projectile disk things they shoot. I love them. I shoot them at my co workers. I have no idea whether they enjoy this or not..gonna go with not. Eh well.
I need a new car. It.is.time. BUT, the title to mine is at my mom's house...and I have to wait for her to get back from visiting the fam to get it cause I dunno where it is. Recommendations on cars appreciated...serious this time. Ready? Go.

"Yes, I know exactly what that is.."
I'm tired today. I had to get up a little earlier than normal..not even a ton..but my brain operates in "it's Saturday" mode on most Mondays. I have my alarm set to LOUD country music..and it still doesnt help. I think I need Clocky but do you know how PISSED I would be after getting that damn thing? I'd be awake..but man.. I wouldnt even want to talk to me...
Anyway, I cant sleep lately.. like AT ALL. I just toss around, kick the covers off, put them back on, get a glass of water, repeat the process...Blah!
I'm about as exciting as a gnat today so sorry for boring you.. I got nuthin.
I darkened my hair. It's a HUGE difference to me, but most people dont seem to notice. I think this pisses me off. I'll let you know for sure.
This time next week, I'll be in New Orleans. My plane leaves on Monday morning at 6am. Yeah, as in flies into the friendly skies at 6 f*cking a.m. I can tell you who WONT be in a great mood. haha!
This weekend was good. I need an intervention, though. I think my alcohol consumption and wee hours arrival back home are going to take their toll eventually. I'm not that into looking like I've been ridden hard and put away wet, so I think I'm ready to chill out. I go through waves...
To stay with the randomness, the bar takers start tomorrow! Say a little prayer for all of them-esp the boyfriend.
Okay.. here's a brief rant... Wanna know something? I HATE that a few..(a great deal) of people I encountered in law school have made me jaded, untrusting, and basically cynical about human beings. I sometimes (often) dont realize I'm like that...until I encounter someone who is OBVIOUSLY not "out to get something" and I question whether they are. And the questions I ask myself are proposterous! You'd be like "um...where did you get THAT idea?" I guess law school raised my personal expectations that I want in friends, significant others, etc, BUT it also lowered my expectations for what's actually out there.
For example, I know...for a fact..that I was a bet among a few guys in law school when G.M. and I split.. a BET...to get me in bed. Really? That's classy. (no one won the bet... except me..haha) :) Combine that with the serial adultery (it's incestual actually) that goes on in law school and you get a little jaded. And I'm not just talking dating here. I'm not some martyr...by any means... I guess it's just there's a part of me that likes to think people are genuinely good. It's sad that law school has kinda made me believe otherwise in a lot of regards.
Anyway, when some of the groups from law school are out and about, I'm just reminded that I'm blessed with very good friends (quite a few derived from law school, I might add. I think us "good ones" stand out..haha). I'm also lucky that I found the boyfriend in a sea of crazies making bets to hook up. It's just weird that I feel like the majority of people I met in college are good.people. whereas the majority of people I met in law school..well..at least half...I wouldnt trust at all...
Rant done. Sorry for the randomness! Hope you're having an outstanding Monday!

For the bar exam
I am reminded of the freak show that was my life back then. I just went ahead and linked all of July.. b/c let's face it... I was insane. I remember re-enacting a lawnmower gone amuck in order to demonstrate products liability. I laughed at MBE questions about "little johnny getting attacked in the park." It wasnt funny, people. But, I'd gone that nuts. This was sometime around when I would hold my essay book and read the essays as I walked around the perimeter of the building..outside..so I could "get some air." I remember going home and literally passing out in my conviser mini review. Everything was bar exam.
Part of me wanted to go straight to the bar examiners house...whoever that is...and tell him how antiquated his little stupid mind-f*ck exam was. I wanted to spit all the knowledge I had right in his fat little face (I imagined him as a short, fat man..). But, then I realized that would take away from study time and not get me anywhere, so I gave up.
Elements of crimes danced in my head, my stomach turned over and over and over, my eyes were fixed in a "HOLY SHIT" stare... and I'm pretty sure I saved the one clean outfit I had for the exam day.
Anyway, whoever wrote this is a genius.. I found it online. If you have a sick sense of humor like me..(or took a bar exam), you'll think it's HILARIOUS. Here's the whole link. It's a stab at some of the "hypothetical situations" that are bar exam questions.
Here's my favorite part: (bgnd: they try to give all the defendants "D" names on the bar exam..it's annoying and confusing)
3: "Known" arsonists: Here's a little tip to all the cretins that keep hiring "known"arsonists to burn down their cheating girlfriend's house. Why is it, do you think, that he is a known arsonist, you dipshit? He's known because he has been f*cking caught before. You don't know who the good arsonists are, do you! Because they have their shit together. But no, you had to go hire Dusseldorf, or Durango, or whatever D word your f*ckwit moron arsonist is named, and now he's gone and burned thewrong house, and left me with a BAR question.
4: People who back out of conspiracies:Why don't you just stick with it and save us all some trouble, you pussy.
IF you're bored with life, here's MY bar exam..Yeah, the actual one.. Not the multiple choice, but the 16 essay questions.
Do it once; do it right; NEVER do it again... :)
Friday! (thats all I could come up with)

I dont wanna be debbie downer here, but he was a pretty kick ass guy. The world will miss him. We need more Randy Pausch's in today's world.. That's all I'm sayin...
Things I did last night that MADE my night: :)
1. cleaned my room. I feel like a kid saying that, but it was getting out of control. Seriously.
2. took a nap. It was lovely. Sleep at 5:30. Awake at 7. PERFECT.
3. Played with Gracie. She slept on my tummy and then we both got up and played. She's kinda awesome like that.
4. Worked out. I didnt do a WHOLE lot, but every little bit helps. And my shoulder doesnt hurt when I lift anymore! :) Hooray healing!
5. made dinner. Yum.
6. did laundry. Not a lot.. but just enough to not have to wear the ugly underwear anymore.. lol!
Getting caught up feels so good.... I've been busy lately.. and not because I'm a crazy social animal (reference last weeks post), but b/c I started the week seeing Batman, then my boss and I went to dinner when she came in town on Tuesday..then my whole team went to dinner on Wed. I was just needing some rest.
Oh, and I'll have you know that I voted for SYTYCD about...oh...70 times the other night. And the two people I voted for STAYED! They were in the bottom and they're the ones who stayed! I feel like my votes counted. No one can make fun of me now.. I'm changing people's lives damnit. I feel very powerful here... hahaha!
Bring on the weekend! :) I have a hair appt tomorrow. I will likely make a "drastic" change that no one will notice but me. I'm kinda like that with my hair, huh? Whatever. hahaha!

TAG!!
six quirky things about me...
1. I honestly believe there are dead bodies in dark water and typically refuse to swim in the same. We've gone over this.
2. I cant stand dry skin. Like so much that you'll prolly find lotion in every room of my apartment...and my purse. I am one moisturized bitch.
3. I save my most recent plane ticket from visiting Aaron until the next time we see each other. I dont know why; I just kinda do it.
4. I hate my feet. I actually hate feet period. Dont touch mine and dont touch me with yours. I wont freak out or anything, but I just dont like them.
5. My closet and clothes rack (I have a tiny closet so I have a standing rack as well) are color coded.
6. I'm addicted to the remote. Dont take it from me or I will kill you. I might not...b/c I was raised to be polite...but I will want to kill you. At your place, it's your remote. At my place, it's MINE. MIIIINE.
Now it is my turn to pass the torch. I tag:
* Jenny (b/c you havent blogged in awhile, lover)
* Blaze (b/c I can)
* Sarah G (b/c you had a funny venting post today and it seems like a good day to list your quirky things)
* Melissa (b/c you havent blogged in awhile either-damn you) ;)
Ready? Go. :)

The squirrel
So, I pull up, Children's Place bag in tow, and witness a murder. Well, more like a murder victim.
A squirrel.
It was dangling from my mom's attic window...by it's neck..from a trap. A TRAP. I was SO angry that this little animal's life had been sacrificed for the sake of the wires in the attic. It looked like he'd committed squirrel-icide. Boo.
So, I went inside, found the trapper card (for the person I assumed it was) and left a message along the lines of "Hello. I'm house sitting for my mom at **** (address). There is a squirrel dangling.dead.from her attic and it's not only disturbing but also horribly sad. I'm assuming this animal was killed by one of your traps. I'm unfamiliar with the removal process, but it needs to occur pronto. Please call me back at ******. Thanks."
From there, I found a ladder.
I took myself...heels and all..to the side of the house...in the 100 degree weather...blowing the blonde bangs out of my face with every other move...and attempted to cut Mr. Squirrel free from his death trap. His little contorted face made me sick. I couldn't do it. The wire was too thick.
With tears in my eyes, I climbed down and rec'd a call from the trapper. He said he'd be out asap...and asked how long I'd be house-sitting. (I dont think he likes me).
I called my mother a murderer when she got home. She was unaffected.
I think I've convinced her to find a more humane trapping system.
I need to join PETA.

Why so serious?

Are you ready for some FOOTBALL?!
Anyway, I tried that "blogroll" thing, but I find it annoying so I kept my links as well. It's confusing until I make a decision. Sorry. But, deal with it. :)
This weekend was good. It involved ice cream with Carrie and Matt, karaoke with Jenny, a visit from Kelli, relaxing pool time and sushi. I think I've caught up on sleep! Woo hoo!
I also have a hair appt this weekend.. I want to go a bit darker. Sorry if you dont agree, but I need some low lighting before I start looking like Anna Nicole. Maybe. I cant decide. Hell.
A tropical storm is hitting the south. This concerns us where I work.
I'm soo behind on pictures. I barely even took any this weekend. Who am I, right?!
I have my "yearly" today. Ew. At least it's at the end of the day so I dont have to come back... Ill go ahead and bet you a beer that (1) a student will come watch and (2) she'll talk to me ab0ut strange things that would never take my mind off what she's doing. Just sayin.

From the palm.. I LOVE this...
I took this yesterday when I was stressed out. Seriously.. these guys cant see in b/c it's too tinted, but I can see them and it freaks me out. I hear a "thump thump" and turn to see two nice men conversing in spanish outside my window while cleaning. They were loud. I was annoyed. I also waved at them and jumped up and down.
Just to test.
Confirmed. They cant see me.
Or maybe they're just rude. I dunno.
Please note: This was before the security lady came by (everyday at 1pm) and closes my blinds to conserve energy. I get it.. I do.. But do you know how HORRIBLE it is to have no natural light all day? I will suffer a vitamin D deficiency and therefore become depressed and therefore not be productive. Just sayin. (see how I went to law school, people? Yeah). Anway, I open them up after she leaves. I dont get direct sun anyway.
Sleep calms a body down...
So, to lighten the mood, go call this number. I'm SERIOUS. It's a recording. Go call now. NOW. 773-509-5027. Dont ask questions, just call...and listen to the whole thing. (and no, it doesnt charge you).
I have too much work for a Friday. TOO MUCH. Shall blog more later. Love love!
Conference calls on a Friday should be banned. Just sayin...

Touchy people.
I'm gonna rant. Warning. Sometimes I feel as though *some people* (I'm likely not referring to you. If you think I am, maybe I am...hahahaha..but likely not) make me feel badly that I go out on the weekends. My response is basically (1) I like it (2) I live by myself..and my boyfriend doesnt live here, so if I wasnt social, I'd be completely alone. all.the.time. Not that people think about that aspect. They'd rather just think I'm swinging from chandeliers all the time. Whatever.
I'm not defending myself b/c I dont feel like I need to...But, long and short is that it hurts my feelings when comments are made b/c it's as though other aspects of my personality and character go ignored just b/c I'm social. If someone's going to make comments, then I dont want to be around you. B/c why be around someone who you feel is judging your lifestyle, ya know?
Point is, there are days I'd give anything to just have Aaron here to...I dunno.. go to the grocery store with me...or rent a movie with me. But, that cant happen right now. And I'm alright with that. B/c I have to be. Since I cant do "everyday" things with anyone, I like going out...to dinner...to happy hour..whatever.
*sigh* See, this is ME being touchy...but whatever. I'm on my period. TMI? Yeah..not really caring so much... haha...
Oh..and I'm off to happy hour with Blaze. Just sayin.
;)
